It was a great honour to judge BIS, BPIS and the wonderful BVIS. The overall entry was fantastic. The breed judges for the sizes were the doyens of their breeds and my line up for BIS was, as I expected, quite thrilling. I was looking for breed type and balance in each exhibit. Movement also played a large part of my final decisions on the day. BIS was McCalmont’s, Ch Silvae Trademark. Standard Wirehaired. I see from the Champion parents. Superb quality. Excellent front, best of topline. Strong muscular rear. So sound front and rear, was a joy to watch on the move. RBIS was Thorn-Andrews’, Ch. Drakesleat Too Gud to Be True. This Mini Wire bitch I have judged before at the Houndshow. I admired her then where she won well under me. Great outline and silhouette. So clean and shapely in great firm body condition and excellent muscled rear. Another very sound free mover who challenged BIS so close. It’s always a great pleasure to judge the puppy winners that came through under me on the day. Some certain future stars here in the making, but the clear winner on the day was the superb Standard Longcoat, Robert’s, Swansford Gabrieldor. This young dog is so full of confidence and oozed charisma. Good front, feet and topline. Strong quarters and is so exciting on the move. Was told later he won the CC and BOB which is amazing for a puppy. RBPIS was Robinson’s, Skyswift Tennessee Honey. This is a very young raw Standard Wire. Good clean outline. Good head and strong jaw. Stacks well on the table. A mere baby so a little stop and start on the move. Very well handled. BEST STANDARD V Some quality dogs and bitches in evidence on the day. Just loved this Standard Wirehaired, Moore and Coverleys’, Ch/Ir Ch. Exsentia I’m Bond James Bond. To find out he is 12 years old is just unbelievable and fantastic. In superb condition and outline. His movement is just so active and smooth. He enjoyed every miniute of his day out and is still being naughty and cheeky. Loved him. BVIS. BEST MINIATURE V was Melbourne’s, Ch. Golden Algon Quinette Melriding. Red Mini Smooth bitch at 8 years old again has a great classic shape and outline. Coat and condition top class. She is a picture when stacked. Very sound on the move and again free moving fore and aft with good reach and drive. Ken Sinclair
