MINIATURE SMOOTH HAIRED

I cannot thank the exhibitors enough who braved the appalling weather to get to the venue in Sunderland, there were absentees understandably, but I still had a very good entry. I hope that everyone got home safely as the road conditions were really frightening and I witnessed many accidents until the roads improved down near Nottingham. I was really impressed with this variety, so many good ones, thank you for giving me so much pleasure judging your breed. MPD (5,3) 1 Coxon's D'Arisca I do Declare, what a cracking little boy, I believe that he was at his first show, sweet head, lovely reach of neck, prominent forechest and good shoulder placement. One of the few with tight elbows and an excellent hind action.Plenty of length of back and shown in lovely condition RCC BP. 2 Hunt's Cwmdahrian Pot Luck, another very nice puppy. Sweet expression, correct bite, plenty of neck and forechest , good bone, just preferred the rear movement on 1. PD (1) 1 Coxon's D'Arisca Duplicated. Litter brother to winner of minor puppy, and another very nice puppy, if these puppies are indicative of all the youngsters coming forward in this breed, then what a grand future for this variety. 2 The same remarks apply to this puppy as to his brother, just preferred the action and angulation of ‘I do declare'. JD (6,4) 1 Salisbury's Willowheath Just William at Brocklewood JW. 16 month red boy, another really good youngster, well made and balanced, moved with drive and well presented. Impressed by his shoulder placement and length of body. 2 Collins' Sagause Under Cover Presented in lovely condition. Excellent forechest and shoulders, but would have liked a bit more length to his back which would have given his movement more drive. Sp YD (3e 2a) 1 Coxons' D'Arisca Low and Behold. Yet another cracking little hound, sound 11 month boy, with a plenty of length, prominent forechest, good shoulder placement, plenty of bone, good feet. PGD (3,1) 1 Blackburn's Tythe Gordon Brown at Stargang. Smart young boy, well balanced, yet another one with a super front, shoulder and length, moved positively, perhaps a tighter elbow would complete the picture. 2 Worton's Cwmdarhian Little Monty good masculine head, well put together but would have liked a more positive movement from him. Well presented. LD (4,3) 1 Kent's Barratini Jeeves at Lokmadi JW. A very happy boy, intelligent expression, nicely balanced head and body and the latter well muscled . good tight elbows, looked very pleasing standing, just a bit more drive when moving would finish the picture. OD (5,1) 1 Ergis' Siouxline Maverick JW Sh CM DCC and BOB. Impressive red boy, long muscular clean neck , liked his bold head carriage, plenty of length in body, going into a broad strong rump. Good feet. Moved with drive and verve. Delighted to award him his third ticket. 2 Callow's Ch. Garthorne Topgear JW. Another really nice boy. Smaller build than above, Excellent forechest and shoulders, lovely length of body, moved soundly , the winner had just a bit more reach of neck. 3 Blackburn's Sonderbar Ben at Stargang (Imp Aus). VB (2,1) 1 Callow's Garthorne Lady in Black. A young looking eight and half year old bitch. She has such a pretty head and feminine expression. Well made throughout, and was obviously pleased to have a day out. MPB (7,1) 1 Hunt's Cwmdahrian Carry on Cleo at Carpaccio. 7 month old feminine little bitch. Good head carriage and yet another one with a lovely reach of neck, prominent forechest and good shoulders, tight elbows and plenty of ribbing. Movement needs to tighten up slightly, but she is still a baby. 2 Kent's Lokmadi Steffy Bing. Slightly younger than the winner. She is very well put together and is balanced. Just preferred Carry on Cleo's head but little to choose between them. 3 Herrington's Rouge Royale for Kathington. PB (4,2) 1 Coxon's D'Arisca Be Dazzled. And yet another lovely puppy, I seem to be reiterating myself class after class, but there are so many really nice little hounds. Everything in the right place, and with such length of body she looked so balanced. 1 Blackburn-Bennett's Stargang Serenity. A super puppy bitch, very balanced, long and low, pretty head, and intelligent eye, elbows just need to tighten up a little. JB (5,3) 1 Kent's Toniajavae Indian Passion at Lokmadi. Very happy bitch, tail never stopped. Pretty and alert. Lovely forechest, shoulders and plenty of length of body, tight elbows against a deep chest and grand ribbing. Just a little erratic on the move. 2 Callow's Garthorne Miss Dynamite. Presented a lovely picture standing, great outline, balanced, but perhaps a bit more confidence would have helped her. Sp YB (2) 1 Ergis' Siouxline April Folly JW. As with all this exhibitors hounds, they are beautifully presented and really stride out with purpose. Sound red bitch well made all through. 2 Callow's Garthorne Galicia. Another bitch in lovely condition, very feminine. Top line was a bit unsteady which affected her movement fractionally. PGB (6,5) 1 Daykin's Barratini Scarlet Ribbon Red bitch in really good order. Lovely head, prominent forechest, lay of shoulder good, plenty of length of back, good hindquarters. Perhaps her elbows could have been a bit tighter. LB (4,3) 1 Blackburn's Sonderbar Billie Jean at Stargang (imp AUS). This red bitch looked really lovely standing. Very balanced outline. Feminine expression, super front, great body and plenty of bone. She was just a bit erratic on the move. OB (9,2) Super class, so many lovely bitches to choose from. 1 Hunt's Ch Carpaccio Royal Parade. BCC Cracking bitch, very well put together and expertly handled to get the best out of the bitch. She is feminine, long and low and well muscled. Moved with drive, but for BOB the dog CC winner just had the edge over her. 2 Coxon's Ch D'Arisca Golden Delicious RCC, dam of the puppy bitch winner. Once again another lovely bitch in beautiful condition. She is so well made throughout. There was very little between first and second. 3 Ergis' Siouxline Evangelina.
