DACHSHUND (MINATURE SMOOTH HAIRED)
Firstly, I must thank the Committee for a very well organised show and for the friendly welcome that Judges are given.
Overall – the miniature smooths are ok – my one pet hate is dirty teeth.... I do not consider there is ANY excuse for this, and exhibits were penalised - which was a shame...
Weight seems to be an issue within the breed with a lot of exhibits being 13lbs +, I will say that weight is only 1 fault – BUT when you have scales it becomes quite alarming that they are not JUST over the 11lbs!! But WELL over. Temperaments have much improved since I last judged them, and conformation has improved – all be it that some looked super and were way over the weight.
My main winners were of a super quality and thrilled that one was awarded its title.
