Firstly thanks to my friend Iona Forge for stewarding for me with no second steward,  a lot for her to contend with and I think she did an amazing job.
A sad day in a way for me with the lack of weighing scales, I hope the KC are prepared to be responsible for the demise of the true Miniature Dachshund……..they will get bigger, mark my words!
There were some lovely Min.Smooths present and I’m sure some will change places on other occasions.   I have to say many of the Min.Smooths here today looked really nice stacked but then they move!   I was faced with front legs swinging about and hind legs with hocks turning in or out…..and a few ‘tummy tappers’ that move parallel going away but on viewing their side gait, the back feet almost touch their belly.  I felt that a few were a little over exaggerated.  My top winners were all moving properly.
I was spoilt for choice in some of the larger classes particularly Limit & Open Bitch, some lovely girls present.
Thanks to all exhibitors for the sporting way in which they accepted my decisions.

Minor Puppy Dog (5)
  1.   Tite’s  LLENNOCOR LITTLE RED DEVIL.    Neat little red dog with a balanced outline,  he has it all in a small package, nothing I would want to change except perhaps a more masculine head.  Sound all through, he has a well laid shoulder with correct length of upper arm, sufficient pro-sternum with ribbing carried back, level backline, well bent stifles, he moved true fore & aft with good side gait.
  2. Magri’s  ARDENRUN PINOT ROUGE ROZAMIE.  Another promising baby with a lovely head & correctly shaped eyes, neat front with tight elbows, good forechest & keel, ribs carried back, nice hind angulation,  moving well with positive action.
  3. Mason’s  TECKELTOWN THE SHOWMAN.

Puppy Dog (6,1a)
  1.  Hanney-Mitchell’s  BRONIA DAIMMEN.   I loved this B/T boy…so much to like about him.   He has an attractive head with correct eye & ear placement, good reach of neck flowing into well placed shoulders with correct length & angulation of upper arm, tight elbows which fit neatly against a long smooth ribcage, neat feet, firm topline, good turn of stifle,  totally parallel coming & going away and he maintained his outline both stacked and on the move, super side gait, at the moment a tad fond of his stern but his tailset is ok…..and he’s still quite young.   I thought he was a lovely youngster with everything in the right place, no hesitation in awarding him the Dog CC & BOB.
  2. Reynolds’  KLEINSTAR MOONGAZER.  This chap has come on in leaps & bounds, he looked super stacked today and didn’t disappoint on the move,  lovely head shape & length of foreface, correct eye, reachy neck, sound front assembly with sufficient pro-sternum, his ribbing is carried back, well turned stifles, moving true fore & aft he maintained his outline and is quite sound.
  3. Magri’s  ROZAMIE TIGER FEET.

Junior Dog (5)
  1. O’Connell’s  RIJOBEAU RUMOURS WITH LLENNOCOR.  This  boy has a lovely balanced outline stacked, he has correct head shape with dark expressive eyes,  good length of neck & sound neat front with tight elbows, good depth of keel & ribbing, nice turn of stifle, he comes towards correctly and has super side gait, going away he has a tendency to turn his hocks in……otherwise a stylish young dog.
  2. Corominas’  SCENTERBAY RAFAEL FOR RUICHANGO.  This is another promising young dog, masculine head & expression, not quite the length of neck of 1. but he has an excellent forehand & angulation of shoulder & upper arm, ribbing carried back, sound quarters which he used well on the move maintaining his outline.
  3. Andison’s  CLENTRY DESPERADO.

Yearling Dog (4,1a)
  1. Strange’s  BRONIA’S ARMAND AT CAZDACHS.  Masculine head of good proportions, sufficient length of neck, quite nice shoulders but could do with more length of upper arm, his ribbing is carried back with a firm topline, nice hind angulation, he moved away well with good side gait, a tad close in front.
  2. Spencer’s  LOKMADI SANDSTONE AT BANNONBRIG.   Lovely head & expression with correct eye & ear placement, he has a well filled front, reasonable shoulders but another that could do with more angulation of upper arm, well ribbed with moderately good bend of stifle, he certainly enjoys showing & moved with style, a tad loose behind.
  3. Holmes’  MUMYSAMI YOU’RE ALL I NEED.

Special Beginners Dog (5,1a)
  1. Wilkinson & Wakeham’s BRONIA DONATELLO FOR WAKYWILKS.   Quite a nice B/T boy, he has a lovely outline stacked with a neat front, good length of neck, firm topline, sufficient ribbing & well turned stifles, his hind movement and side gait are fine but he is a little loose coming towards.
  2. Reynolds’  KLEINSTAR BLUE MOON.  Masculine head with correct eye shape, sufficient length of neck & back, ribbing carried back, he moved happily & showed himself well, a tad close in front.
  3. Wood’s  DEVONDAX EARNED MY STRIPES.

Post Graduate Dog (2)
  1. Magri’s ROZAMIE RED CORVETTE.  When he settled on the table this boy has a nice outline but he was looking for food so was quite fidgety that spoilt that outline. He has a lovely masculine head & expression, super front assembly & pro-sternum, just the right amount of length with ribbing carried back, moved soundly fore & aft with good side gait.
  2. Downie’s  MARVALE KINGFISHER.  Longer cast than 1 and he could do with more confidence however he is fairly well constructed, well shaped head of good proportions, sufficient depth of keel & ribbing, firm backline, well turned stifles, moved soundly maintaining his outline.

Limit Dog (3)
  1. Mason’s  TECKELTOWN SUSPICIOUS MIND.  Lovely young male that has a lot going for him, close up for the Res.CC.  He has a super head with correct eye, excellent front assembly correctly angled with sufficient pro-sternum, his ribbing follows through, good bend of stifle, he moved & showed well maintaining his lovely outline.
  2. Wilkinson & Wakeham’s  BRONIA GABRIEL FOR WAKYWILKS JW.  Attractive red boy with a balanced outline, masculine head, good reach of neck, reasonable shoulder placement but would like more length of upper arm, firm topline, nice hind angulation, positive movement fore & aft.
  3. Williams’  LOKMADI CALL ME LOUIS ROZAMIE.

Open Dog (6)
  1. Coxon’s  D’RISCA DINNER AT EIGHT.  Sound honest B/T of correct size, no exaggeration, well constructed with excellent body proportions, his reach of neck flowed into well laid shoulder with correct length of upper arm, tight elbows fitting against a long smooth ribcage, rounded quarters with low hocks, he has a lovely outline and moved true coming & going with good side gait.  RES CC.
  2. Melbourne, Carroll & Paget’s  MELRIDING BLACK TOM.  Another lovely B/T of good type, masculine head with correct eye shape, sound front assembly with positive movement, ribbing carried back,  good top & underline, well turned stifles, parallel hind movement, sound with a nice outline.
  3. Gentle’s. DIMOGEN STARGAZER.

Veteran Dog (2,1a)
  1. Jennings’  DUDDONDAXS JUDGE JUDE.  Balanced red boy of 8 years old, still behaving like a two year old, neat forehand and sound quarters with good ribbing, moving true fore & aft, he has a great character that came out in his showmanship.. BEST VETERAN.

Minor Puppy Bitch (5,1a)
  1. Kent’s  LOKMADI DON’T BRING LULU.  Promising B/T baby who showed her little socks off!  Nice head shape with dark expressive eyes, good reach of neck, neat forehand with sufficient pro-sternum, ribbing carried back, sound quarters, she moved true fore & aft.
  2. Woods’  RULETADAX QUEENS GAMBIT.  Feminine baby of smaller type, liked her balanced outline, sound nicely constructed front, firm topline, a tad short in under rib, well bent stifles, parallel movement coming & going.
  3. Foley’s. LOGGETA LUCKY SWIRL AT CLAVENNAE.

Puppy Bitch (8)
  1. Beach’s  BEACHDAX GIRL OF MY DREAMS.   What a pretty brindle baby, very promising & I couldn’t find much wrong with her, lovely head & expression with correct eye shape, just the right length of neck that flowed into well laid shoulders with correct return of upper arm, good body proportions and sound rounded quarters, nicely balanced all through, she moved true fore & aft maintaining her outline.  BEST PUPPY BITCH.
  2. Hanney-Mitchell’s. BRONIA BLAYZE.  Another nicely constructed puppy, slightly more rangy than 1, feminine head with lovely expression, sound front assembly with tight elbows fitting neatly against her long ribbing, good top & underline, well turned stifles, parallel movement.
  3. Herald’s  WINTERFIELD LADY IN RED.

Junior Bitch (13,4a)
  1. Tite’s  RIJOBEAU RITA BIX.   Lovely B/T girl of correct size carrying a balanced outline which she held on the move, attractive headpiece, good reach of neck, well constructed front with tight elbows supporting her keel, well ribbed, firm topline, super hind angulation, she moved parallel coming & going with good side gait.
  2. Jennings’  JENIVON’S JENNY WREN.  Nicely balanced red girl with a lovely head & expression, good depth of keel and ribbing, adequate pro-sternum, would prefer slightly tighter elbows, ribbing carried back, good bend of stifle, she moved out well & showed well.
  3. Mason’s  TECKELTOWN THE SHOW GIRL.

Yearling Bitch (4)
  1. Morton’s  MONRA PALACE SWEET ANGEL.   Pretty brindle girl, she has a lovely shape and she maintained her outline both stacked & on the move. Good head properties, sound front assembly with tight elbows, well ribbed, strong rounded quarters that she used well going away, good side gait.
  2. Muggleton’s  SWEET CREATURE.  Aptly named, pretty red girl with a lovely head & expression, good neck length with a neat well fitting front and adequate pro-sternum, ribbing carried back, she moved out well, just a tad close behind.
  3. Woods’. RULETADAX GOLDFINGER.

Special Beginners Bitch (4)
  1. Wilkinson & Wakeham’s  BRONIA BIJOUX FOR WAKYWILKS.  Sound little bitch that had the best movement in the class, she has a slight tendency to dip behind her shoulders but she comes up on the move, tidy front with tight elbows, good length & depth of body, well bent stifles, parallel action fore & aft, she beat her kennel mate for BEST SPECIAL BEGINNERS due to her true movement.
  2. Reynolds’. MERRYLINE ALEXANDRA AT KLEINSTAR.   Mature red that moved & showed well, good neck length, neat front, well ribbed, she maintained a decent outline stacked and on the move, would like a little more hind angulation.
  3. Goodall’s  STARGANG ETERNAL FLAME.

Post Graduate Bitch (6)
  1. Woods’  RULETADAX AGUILA.  Attractive silver dapple, quite well put together with excellent forechest and depth of keel, neat front with tight elbows, firm topline, well turned stifles, she moved out nicely with good side gait & parallel action maintaining her outline.
  2. Gleave’s  RYNECO KRYSTAL MAZE.   Pretty red girl with lovely head & expression, sound front construction with sufficient pro-sternum & tight elbows, ribbing carried back, nice top & underline, good bend of stifle, she moved true fore & aft, close up to 1.
  3. Roberts’  ROZAMIE MAGIC MOMENTS.

Limit Bitch (14)
  1.  Melbourne, Carroll & Paget’s  MELRIDING SISI.  This was a lovely class headed by this very sound B/T bitch of the right size, full of quality, balanced all through with a super front, well laid shoulders, deep keel through to long smooth ribbing, level backline & rounded quarters, she moved out well with parallel action maintaining her lovely outline. RES CC.
  2. Jennings’. JENIVONS MISS MARPLE.  Another lovely girl, slightly bigger than 1 but balanced with a nice outline, super head & expression with correct eye shape, sound front assembly with good pro-sternum & ribbing, well turned stifles, she also moved correctly, positive coming toward & going away with good side gait.
  3. Hunt’s  MYLFORBE RED VELVET AT SUNARA.

Open Bitch (12,3a)
  1. Coxon’s  D’ARISCA LITTLE BLACK DRESS.  Again a lovely class of bitches and this one didn’t disappoint,  like her brother in Open Dog she is completely unexaggerated, sound all through and all of a piece, pretty feminine head and eyes of correct shape, good length of neck flowing into well placed shoulders and correct length of upper arm, tight elbows fitting neatly against sides, ribbing carried well back, good turn of stifle with lovely parallel hind movement, she has a balanced outline both stacked and on the move with good side gait.  BITCH CC.
  2. Williams & Moes’  CH.CWMDARHIAN COLD AS ICE.  Another lovely girl and a worthy champion, she is well balanced with a nice  outline, well constructed with good body proportions, sound front assembly with good length & depth, she moved out well but I preferred the hind action of 1.
  3. Callow’s  GARTHORNE GLENDA.

Veteran Bitch (2)
  1. Chapman-Reith’s  HAYVENHUND ALONG CAME POLLY.  Two grand old ladies headed by this girl, preferred her movement, nice head shape with feminine expression, sound forehand & quarters, moved & showed well.
  2. Nolan’s  KELMBECK DE MONTESPAN OF MELRIDING.  Lower to ground than 1 with a neat front, sweet head with lovely expressive eyes, good body proportions , very sympathetically handled and obviously a much loved girl.
