Birmingham National 2024 Miniature Smooth Haired

Thank you to all the exhibitors for giving me such a large number of entries, to The Birmingham Dog Show Society for your invitation and hospitality, and to my stewards for your fantastic help. The overall standard of dogs brought under me were excellent quality. In many cases I was spoilt for choice, there were a lot of excellent dogs and bitches who were worthy of places that unfortunately were missed out due to the number of entries. There were a few dogs that I would have considered giving higher places, but were knocked due to either their temperaments, or because they weren’t handled to bring out their best so it was difficult to properly assess them stood and on the move. Of course all dogs can have their off days and they looked to have good construction, and so I’m sure on other days some of the places would have been switched about - as is the nature of dog showing. Special Beginners D (5,1) 1 Herald Sonorra Dark Treacle At Winterfield. An attractive boy, nice size with a good outline. Super head with an intelligent expression, correct ear shape and set. Well arched neck, correctly placed shoulders and good spring of rib. Correctly angulated at the front and rear, moved around the ring with drive. 2 Holmes Mumysami You’re All I Need. Well proportioned head, correct front angulation with good depth of keel and tight elbows. Good body proportions with a correct ribbing to loin ratio, ok rear angulation with sufficient turn of stifle. Overall a balanced and free from exaggerations. 3 Reynolds Kleinstar Blue Moon MPD (6,1) 1 Magri Rozamie Tiger Feet. Super head with almond eyes, elegant neck, well filled out at the front with ample forechest and well placed shoulders. Correct ribbing, excellent rear angulation with a good turn of stifle. Moved excellently round the ring with purpose, showing correct reach at the front and drive behind, which won him the class. BPD 2 Mason Teckeltown The Showman. Another promising pup, nicely compact and free from exaggerations. Correct ear set and shape, good front and rear angulation. Fantastic underline and level topline creating a pleasing silhouette. Excellently handled to bring out his best. 3 O’Connell Llennocor Little Red Devil Naf

PD (8,2) 1 Forge Normpug Roman Holiday. A tidy front with correctly placed shoulders and ample width throughout. Good amount of ribbing moving into a strong, well angulated rear. Great topline and underline, with correct ground clearance. Moved excellently with drive, very sound coming and going which won him the class. 2 Mason Teckeltown The Showman. Another promising pup. A well balanced dog, ok neck and front with tight elbows. Correct ribbing thats well developed for his age, short loin, great rear angulation which gave him drive on the move. Overall a nice boy with some very good points. 3 Corominas Scenterbay Rafael For Ruichango. JD (7,2) 1 O’Connell Rijobeau Rumours With Llennocor. Really liked this boy, an excellent mover with drive and purpose which won him the class and RCC. A strong front with long neck, correct angulation and well placed shoulders, length and well sprung ribs. Excellent rear with good angulation, overall a well balanced outline with a pleasing topline and underline. 2 Mason Teckeltown Suspicious Mind. Arched neck flowing into a well angulated front with tight elbows. Correct ribbing which extends well back, a strong rear with good turn of stifle. A nicely balanced out dog free from exaggerations. Also really liked this boy, it was close between the two but just slightly preferred the front on 1. 3 Woods Daxiemoors Smoking Hot YD (3)

3 Holmes Mumysami You’re All I Need ND (6) 1 Woods Mylforbe Barbeau. Correct proportions from muzzle to skull, dark almond eyes with a good ear set and shape. Lengthy neck that flowed well into the withers, good front and rear angulation. A sound boy, moved well. 2 Spall Llapsttam Sebastian. Well balanced and compact. Correctly proportioned head, well angulated front with tight shoulders and ample width throughout. Good topline and underline, another sound dog but I just preferred he rear on 1. spring and length of rib, short loin, good rear angulation. 3 Wilkinson & Wakeham Bronia Donatello For Wakywilks PGD (5,1) 1 Wilkinson & Wakeham Bronia Gabriel For Wakywilks. Masculine head with a correct eye shape, good length of neck that flowed well into the withers. Correct feet and sound front assembly, good rear angulation, well balanced topline and underline. Moved well with drive behind and a good reach at the front, which won him the class. 2 Magri Lokmadi Call Me Louis Rozamie. A little smaller and more compact, but with a pleasing outline. A tidy front with correctly placed shoulders, good ribbing that extended well back, short loin. Good rear angulation and turn of stifle, moved ok and was tidy coming and going. 3 Herald Sonorra Dark Treacle At Winterfield LD (5) 1 Wilson Shantallah Secret Shadow at Linburndax. Well proportioned head, good length of neck moving smoothly into an excellent front with well laid shoulders and tight elbows. Perfect rib to loin ratio, a strong rear with excellent angulation which allowed him to move with drive. Correct underline and topline that was maintained throughout. Overall really liked this boy. 2 Woods Bronia Gaspare Moved well round the ring with drive and a pleasing outline. Great overall shape, well balanced at the front and back. Masculine head with an intelligent expression, elegant neck, ribbing extends well back. An excellent rear with great angulation, correct tail set and good turn of stifle. Another nice boy, I just preferred the front on 1. 3 Band Carpaccio Red Alert For Essandsee OD (5) 1 Williams & Moes Cwmdarhian Joe Calzghe. An excellent dog with correct proportions. Fantastic head with an intelligent expression, elegant neck, ample forechest with a precisely laid shoulder, well sprung ribs with a short loin. Fantastic underline and topline that were maintained throughout. Moved perfectly round the ring with confidence, wonderful reach in front and excellent drive behind. A gorgeous boy, exceptionally eye catching and well deserving of the CC & BOB 2 Coxon D’arisca Dinner At Eight. Another excellent dog, different in type to 1 but eye catching. Good neck moving into well laid shoulders, ample forechest. Tight feet, well ribbed with a short loin, parallel hocks with a fantastically angulated rear allowing him to move with drive. Super proportions and a correct topline that was kept throughout. Moved and handled with precision. 3 Gentle Dimogen Stargazer VD (2) 1 Jennings Duddondaxs Judge Jude. Correctly proportioned head with dark almond eyes. Arched neck flowing into a well angulated front. Correct ribbing which extends well back, moving into strongly constructed rear which allowed him to move around the ring with drive. Overall a nicely balanced out dog. BV 2 Baker & Clements Duke Midnight William Of Kenraura. Masculine head with correct ear set and shape, ok front with ample width throughout. Good spring and length of rib, short loin, ok rear angulation. Moved well round the ring with purpose. Special Beginners B (10,3) 1 WOOD Littlecopse Black Opium. Moved well with drive, very sound coming and going. A pleasing topline and underline creating a nicely balanced, compact shape. Good front and rear angulation, tight elbows, correct ribbing. 2 Wilson Linburndax Olive Oyl. Correctly proportioned head, ear set and shape. Lengthy neck moving into a sound front with well placed shoulders. Good rear angulation and turn of stifle, another lovely bitch with a pleasing outline. 3 Coote Andeysson Cape Verde MPB (9,1)

1 Herald Winterfield Lady In Red. Feminine head, a solid front thats well developed for her age. Correctly placed shoulders and long keel. Well sprung ribs reaching back well into a short loin, tidy rear, good topline and underline. Moved well with drive. 2 Beach Beachdax Girl Of My Dreams. Dark almond eyes and a correct mouth, well placed shoulders and ample forechest. Correct proportions in body and height, well angulated rear with parallel hocks, was very sound coming and going. 3 Kent Lokmadi Don’t Bring Lulu PB (12,1) 1 Mason Marvale Crimson Sunbird. A promising pup. Elegant neck, flowing smoothly into a good front with a prominent breast bone & keel that extends well back. Correct ribbing, with a fantastic topline that was maintained throughout. Great rear angulation which allowed her to move with drive, excellently handled to bring out her best. BP 2 Gleave Ryneco Krystal Maze. Correct head and body proportions, tidy front with correctly placed shoulders. Correct ribbing and a short loin, a well angulated rear with a good turn of stifle. Moved well and with drive behind and a good reach at the front.

3 Robertson Marvale Comanche At Ravenwood JB (6) 1 Tite Rijobeau Rita Bix. Appealing head with an intelligent expression, good neck and lay of shoulder. Well made in front with correct angulation, super ribbing which extends well back. Tidy rear, moved excellently round the ring with drive and purpose. A nice bitch with quality construction. 2nd: ERGIS Siouxline Mary Rose. A nicely compact bitch with plenty of bone. Well proportioned head with correct eye and ear shape, correctly placed shoulders and well sprung ribs. Excellent topline and underline, moved well and was very tidy coming and going. 3 Jennings Jenivon’s Jenny Wren YB (4) 1 Dalton Beachdax About Damn Time. Feminine head with correct mouth, elegant neck moving smoothly into the withers, ok topline. An excellent front with a good amount of forechest and correct shoulders. Ample ribbing, ok rear and movement. 2 Woods Ruletadax Levitica. Correct head and neck proportions, ok front with correct angulation, a keel that extends well back and tight elbows. Well ribbed with a tidy rear and good turn of stifle. Correct topline and underline. 3 Cumberland Mumysami Beth Level Of Crazy NB (5) 1 Hardy Rossmia Kensington Beauty. Correct head proportions, tidy front with correctly placed shoulders and correct ribbing. Correct topline and underline, a well angulated rear with a good turn of stifle. Moved with drive behind and a good reach at the front once she got going, creating a pleasing outline. 2 Gleave Ryneco Krystal Maze 3 Wood Littlecopse Black Opium GB (8) 1 Walker Donnadoon Little Dreamer At Dorenian. Compact bitch but with plenty of bone and substance. Correct mouth, head and neck proportions. Well placed shoulders and ample forechest. Correct proportions in body and height, a good topline, well angulated rear, was very sound coming and going. 2 Woods Myleforbe Passion Fleur. Well proportioned head with correct eye and ear shape, correct shoulder placement, tight elbows and well sprung ribs. Very good topline and underline creating a sound oputline, ok rear angulation, moved well. 3 Ergis Siouxline Maisie Rayne PGB (7,1) 1 Woods Bronia Guistina. Correctly proportioned head, a good front with ample forechest and well placed shoulders. Tidy rear with parallel hocks, level topline and correct underline with a good amount of ground clearance. Moved excellently with drive and reach at the front, confidently and with good ring presence. 2 Coote Andeysson Cape Verde. A well balanced bitch. Feminine head with almond eyes, tidy front with well placed shoulders and long keel. Well sprung ribs, reaching back into a short loin, correct height and body ratios. Moved ok with a pleasing outline, just preferred the rear on 1. 3 Herald Winterfield’s June Of Arabia LB (12,3) 1 Hunt Mylforbe Red Velvet At Sunara. Correctly proportioned head and elegant neck, moving smoothly into a strong front with a prominent breast bone and keel that extends well back. Ample ribbing, great rear angulation which allowed her to move excellently with drive and purpose which won her the class. 2 Roberts Rayol Barcelona. Attractive head with an intelligent expression, good neck and well placed shoulders. Super ribbing, with a short loin and correct topline and underline. Well angulated at the rear, moved ok. 3 Jennings Jenivons Miss Marple

OB (9) 1 Williams & Moes Cwmdarhian Cold As Ice. A fantastically well balanced bitch, very eye catching with great ring presence. Well proportioned head with a intelligent expression, elegant neck leading into correctly placed shoulders. Ample forechest and tight elbows, plenty of width throughout with ribbing that extends well back, a strong rear with excellent angulation. An excellent mover with great reach at the front and drive at the rear. Worthy of the CC. 2 O’connell Lokmadi With A Dragon Tattoo. A lovely head with almond eyes, elegant neck and a good lay of shoulders. A strong front, correct feet, fantastic ribbing that extends well back with a short loin. Level topline, excellent rear angulation which gave her drive on the move, and excellently handled to bring out her best. Another exceptionally nice bitch. RCC 3 Coxon D’arisca Little Black Dress VB (2,1) 1 Bullingham Aventurine At Stoweytop. Level topline that was maintained throughout. Feminine head with correct ear set and shape, ok front with ample width throughout. Good spring and length of rib, short loin. Moved true round the ring with purpose.
