Thank you to the Officers and Committee of The Smooth Haired Dachshund Club for inviting me to judge Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshunds at their Championship Show on 20 April 2024 and for a well organised show and to the exhibitors for their entry of their lovely dogs who made a record entry for this show. Thank you to Pam and Anne my stewards for their professional help, and thank to my dear friend Lovaine Coxon for her hospitality and thank you to Sue Tomlinson for all her help.
It was a privilege to judge miniature smooth dachshunds for my first judging engagement England where the quality of the breed is renowned. Because the entry was so big and the quality so high which made my decisions more difficult, hence the length of time I observed them on the move. Thank you to the exhibitors for their patience.

Lovely red brindle dog of good balance in all parts, 7 months old, good head, level topline, well set tail, good forechest, and depth of keel, ,well balanced front and rear, good loin, moves well with good attitude.
2nd Rudkin’s Stargang Dante’s Inferno For Dynastydax.
Red male, good type, good head with almond shaped eyes, beautiful long head, level topline, well set tail, well angulated in front and rear, good chest, excellent bone but could wish for less wrinkles on the legs. Good mover.
I preferred the 1st as he was more balanced in all parts and with less wrinkle.
