My thanks to my very efficient stewards Joan and Sharon who kept everything running smoothly in the ring. My thanks also to the exhibitors who presented all their dogs in lovely condition. The exhibits themselves all put on sterling performances highlighting the wonderful character and temperament of this breed. I do feel, however, that we are facing major problems with poor front construction. There are far too many with short upper arms and combined with a number of exhibits with too much length in the rear pastern, this is producing a strange, untypical and restricted movement, it is up to the breeders to consider this carefully when making decisions and hopefully the situation can be improved.
PD (15,3) 1. Paget/Carroll’s Shantallah Simply Red at Marvale. Shaded red baby, well put together with good balance and construction, nice head and neck, good shoulder placement, ribbing and top-line, lovely quarters, moved really well holding his outline at all times. 2. Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Daimmen. Promising black and tan puppy, good head and eye, well constructed with everything in the right place and fitting together well, still very much a baby carrying his lovely puppy weight which somewhat obscured his outline, moved well, just not as positive as winner today. 3. Magri’s Rozamie Tiger Feet.
JD (3,1) 1. Mason’s Teckeltown Lord of The Rings. Brindle puppy of only six months, nice head and neck, lovely shape and outline with balanced front and rear, strong top-line which he held both standing and on the move, moved confidently especially for one so young, would just like to see a little more front extension as he develops. 2. Gittins’ Boomerloo’s Robin. Black and tan dog with a good head and eye, taller type of dog who was somewhat losing his shape and outline, moved well but would like a little more width in front, I am sure he will benefit from maturity and a little more self confidence.
PGD (5,2) 1. Downie’s Marvale Kingfisher. Honest well made red dog, good bone and substance, strong top-line and ribbing carried well back which, with his well angulated shoulders and quarters, gives him a lovely profile, very good prominent forechest, moved well covering the ground in complete harmony with his handler. 2. Magri’s Rozamie Red Corvette. Very smart and happy red dog, good head and eye, strong top-line which he held both standing and on the move, moved beautifully with purpose, just not the front and rear balance of the winner today. 3. Herald’s Sonorra Dark Treacle at Winterfield.
LD 7(2) 1. Magri’s Lokmadi Call Me Louis Rozamie. Brindle dog with a well shaped head and eye, good shape and outline with a strong top-line, good ribbing and a short strong loin, balanced conformation front and rear, moved true with purpose and style. 2. Wilkinson/Wakeham’s Bronia Gabriel for Wakywilks. Lovely shaped red dog of nice type and build, excellent shape when standing with good angulation, everything fitting together and balanced throughout, moved well but just lacking a little co-ordination today.
OD 6(3) 1. Melbourne/Carroll/Paget’s Melriding Black Tom. Black and tan dog with a classic shape and outline, conical head, dark eye and intelligent expression, good bone and substance, well angulated front and rear, good ribbing followed well through, strong, even top-line with short muscular loin, really came into his own on the move when he used all his assets to move with power, drive and extension, DCC. 2. Coxon’s D’arisca Dinner at Eight. Elegant black and tan dog, lovely head and eye with a masculine outlook, strong muscled neck flowing into a strong top-line which he held both standing and on the move, good ribbing, balance and angulation fore and aft, moved sound and true at all times although not just as settled and focussed as the winner today, RDCC. 3. Mason’s Ch. Teckeltown Master Piece JW.
VD 1(0) 1. Jennings’ Duddondaxs Judge Jude. Red dog with a nice headpiece and alert expression, balanced throughout with a good top-line which he maintained both standing and on the move, moved positively and obviously enjoying his day out, BV.
SBD (3) 1. McAulay’s Elnside Galaxy Defender. Shaded red puppy dog, nice shaped, elegant dog with well angulated quarters, good shaped head and dark eye, still very raw and needing to develop in front but has time on his side, moved true and positive both fore and aft. 2. Herald’s Sonorra Dark Treacle at Winterfield. Black and tan dog with a lovely head and expression, good neck and top-line, prominent forechest, balanced throughout, moved well but just not as positive as the winner today. 3. Morrin/Barbi’s Glynfelin Phoenix Odyssey.
GCD 1(0) 1. Jennings’ Duddondaxs Judge Jude. Repeat. PB 19(8) 1. Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Blayze. Quality red baby heading a strong class, very much my cup of tea, feminine head and expression, well made front construction with prominent forechest complimented by well angulated and rounded quarters, good strong top-line all adding up to a lovely profile, moved really well for a baby covering the ground with ease and drive, BP & RBCC, was pleased to see her get 2nd in the Puppy Group. 2. Mason’s Marvale Crimson Sunbird. Very promising red baby with well shaped head and good eye, well constructed throughout with well laid shoulders, prominent forechest and good rear angulation, good neck flowing into strong even top-line, moved really well using all her assets to her advantage. 3. Paget/Carroll’s Marvale Chiffchaff.
JB 7(1) 1. Melbourne/Carroll/Paget’s Melriding Sisi. Pretty black and tan bitch with a good head and feminine outlook, very well made with good shoulder placement, prominent forechest, good ribbing and strong top-line, well angulated and rounded quarters, comes into her own on the move covering the ground effortlessly with drive and extension. 2. Jennings’ Jenivon’s Jenny Wren. Nice red bitch puppy with a lovely head and eye, good forechest and ribbing, strong even top-line that she holds well, not as mature or finished as the winner but she has time on her side, moved positively and confidently for a baby but couldn’t compete with the fluidity and extension of the winner on the day. 3. Andison’s Clentry Red Hot An Smoking. PGB 10(5) 1 Anderson/Watt’s Shantallah Song of The Lark. Very good type of red bitch with a lovely shape and profile, nice feminine head and intelligent expression, good front with prominent forechest and well laid shoulders, good ribbing carried well back and strong top-line, well angulated quarters, moved really well maintaining her lovely outline. 2. Morton’s Monra Palace Sweet Angel. Brindle bitch with conical head, well shaped eye and strong muscular neck into strong top-line, good ribbing carried well back, balanced angulation front and rear, moved confidently but could have a little more width in front. 3. Wilson’s Zilveraat Moulin Rouge.
LB 16(5) 1. Jennings’ Jenivons Miss Marple. Attractive red bitch of nice type, good overall shape and outline, lovely head with gentle expression, strong neck into even top-line, well ribbed with good carry through, balanced girl who carries herself with style, moved confidently. 2. Magri’s Rozamie Abracadeberah. Very honest sound bitch who ticks all the boxes, good bone and substance, prominent forechest, strong top-line and short loin, moved soundly at all times but just not the drive of winner today. 3. Mason’s Teckeltown Lady in Red.
OB 10(2) 1. Paget/Carroll’s Ch. Marvale Sandpiper. Beautiful red bitch who I have admired from afar and I was not disappointed when I got my hands on her, lovely head with arrogant expression, good strong neck flowing into well laid shoulders and an excellent top-line, good ribbing carried well back and nicely rounded quarters, excellent mover covering the ground with ease and fluidity showing the natural drive and extension one would expect with her construction, BCC & BOB. 2. Hanney-Mitchell’s Bronia Clarisse. Another quality red bitch with many of the same attributes as the winner, good head and eye, well angulated front and rear and strong even top-line, nice overall shape both standing and on the move, moves well just couldn’t match the freedom and coordination of the winner today. 3. Coxon’s D’arisca Little Black Dress. SBB 3(1) 1. Rose’s Pennydach Mystique at Rosencrantz. Black and tan bitch with a good head and a cheeky expression, strong top-line, balanced front and rear, she kept her profile well both standing and on the move, moved soundly showing off her charm and personality, BSpB. 2. Tait’s Gordax Bunty. Elegant red bitch with a lovely head and eye, of a taller construction than winner but had a good neck and strong even top-line, moved well but would like a little more width.
GCB 3(2) 1. Rose’s Pennydach Mystique at Rosencrantz. Repeat.
