Many thanks to the committee for the invitation to judge and my stewards that kept the ring flowing. I felt that numerically it was an ok entry for this show but the quality was not great, I found poor temperaments, short ribbing and disappointed at the movement in quite a few, that being said I was more than happy with my main winners and more than pleased that my best of breed went hound group 2 and my best puppy went hound puppy group 2, congratulations !.

Veteran D/B (1,0)

1st Ergis’s Ch Siouxline Jacob JW. Lovely outline in profile and stacked, loved his head and expression, correctly angled quarters with a good length of rib, moved true in all ways with clean powerful strides. Best veteran, reserve best dog.

Minor puppy dog (4,1)

1st Dalton’s coppers boy at Llansansior. The most stunning head on this bigger framed boy, would prefer a slightly more angled front, pleasing underline with a slight rise over the loin, movement was the best in this class.

2nd Hiskett & Kellaway’s Llenocor stop and stare with simorepaw. A lot to like but very raw at the moment, I would prefer a better lay of shoulder and a more elegant neck, moved true but lacked drive today.

3rd Robertson’s Marvale cuckoo at Ravenwood.

Post graduate dog (4,0)

1st Ergis’s Brogansian Battlecry for siouxline. Bigger framed boy with pleasing ground clearance. I liked his deep keel, tight elbows and straight front, good length of rib, would prefer a slightly stronger stifle angulation which would allow a more powerful drive.

2nd Walker & Wiltshire’s Mighty Marvin at littlelibbs. Clean lines on this black and tan boy, not the head of 1st moved a tad wide behind and slightly narrow in front.

3rd Eyre-Brook’s Mylforbe the Bishop at Gentlegorse.

Open dog (3,1)

1st Forge’s Normpug Roman Holiday JW. A lovely black and tan dog who presents a clean outline of correct proportions, great length of neck which flows into correctly placed shoulders, upper arm is of equal length with the tightest of elbows, tight feet, short strong loin, level topline. Ticked all the boxes today and was delighted to award him best dog. A very smart lad who missed out on best of breed to his daughter.

2nd Strange’s Bronia’s Armand at Cazdachs. Good length of neck, good top and underline, moved with enough width behind but lacked drive,

Minor Puppy Bitch (1,0)

1st Small’s Marvale Golden Oriole for Devondax. Lovely shape on the move but tended to fall into herself on the stack, sweetest of expressions, great lay of shoulder with lovely angled quarters moved true in all directions with drive. Best puppy

Puppy Bitch (4,1)

1st Bosworth’s Bronia Solange at Louromi. I really liked this smart girl of good proportions, nothing was exaggerated and in perfect balance, moved with enough width front and back and kept a clean outline, very promising and very pleased to award best special beginner (hopefully not for very long).

2nd Dalton’s Llansansior Empress. Impressive girl who is bigger in frame but well proportioned, clean lines and nicely angled quarters, not the movement of 1st.

3rd Fairchild & Oakley’s Ardenrun Answered Prayer.

Junior bitch (5,3)

1st Hanney-Mitchell Naisha Crespalia Bronia (imp Esp). Smart red with a lovely head and expression, great lay of shoulder and equal length of upper arm, tight elbows, pleasing length of rib moved out well. Reserve best bitch.

2nd Robertson’s Ravenwood Bootylicious. A sweet red of pleasing type., moved true but would prefer a better lay of shoulder and a shorter loin.

Post Graduate Bitch (3,0)

1st Ergis’s Siouxline Elsa Marie. A quality bitch with an elegant well balanced outline, long muscular neck flowing into great shoulders, prominent forechest, excellent ribbing and outstanding rear quarters, great width throughout and her movement was the cleanest of the day, not a hesitation in awarding Best Bitch and best of breed.

2nd Herald’s Winterfield lucky Star. A well proportioned black and tan, would prefer a better lay of shoulder. nice tight elbows and had a Level topline, moved true up and down but couldn’t match the drive of 1st.

3rd Gentle’s Delandmar Miss Daisy.

Limit Bitch (6,2)

1st Butterstone’s Joshotto Martha Gunn. Lots to like about this bitch, nicely balanced and not exaggerated, pleasing top line with good ribbing, moved the best in the class with plenty of drive.

2nd Robertson’s Marvale Comanche at Ravenwood .A nice shape both stacked and on the move, ok head with enough neck, decent topline and moved true but did not match the drive of 1st.

3rd Dalton’s Beachdax about Damn Time.
