Dachshund ( Miniature Long Haired)

Judge : Isobel Dyke

I was rather concerned at the number of exhibits in this breed who were completely lacking a prominent keel.

PD. (4). 1. Weton’s, Chelane King of the Castle. Red. Well proportioned, dark eye, good keel and spring of rib. Level topline. Moved and showed well. 2. Paterson’s, Wilmaranna Quancy. Dapple, nice head and expression. Good shoulders. Level topline. Not quite the free front action of the winner. 3. Cooper’s, Gayvilles Northern Lad at Jumanda.

JD. (2). 1. Brook’s, Rhinstar Phoenix at Lyndarlea. Red. Good overall proportions. Balanced head, dark eye, prominent keel. Level topline, good hind angulation. A little loose in front at the moment. 2. Paterson’s, Wilmaranna Quincy.

LD. (7). 1. Brook’s, Quitrutec Half Day at Lyndarlea. Cream dog. Good pigmentation. Well proportioned throughout. Well ribbed back. Level topline held on the move. Good rear drive. RCC. 2. Hartley’s, Lyrosh Lord if the Manor. Another well proportioned dog. Good keel. Level topline, well ribbed back. Moved soundly but did not have quite the drive of the winner. 3. Jamieson’s, Airwaves to Carlang via Djeata.

OD. (7). 1. Dunn’s, Ashridge Private Ryan. Mahogany red. The more he moved the more he appealed. Balanced outline, good head with dark eye. Prominent keel. Good shoulders, well ribbed back. Level topline. Moved with drive to win the CC. 2. Jamieson’s, Djeata Lord of the Dance. Black and tan. Well constructed male. Prominent keep. Deep chest, level topline. Moved himself into second place. 3. Hall and McLachlan’s, Gayvilles Northern Classic.
