Dogs

Thank you to The Midland Dachshund for the Inviation to judge my first CCs in Miniature Long Haired Dogs at their show.  I really enjoyed my day and thank you to my Steward Johnny Morgan, who kept the paperwork in order.  I was really pleased with my overall winners, and along with my co-judge Alison Morton agreed that both my Dog CC winner go onto BOB and the Dog Puppy Best Puppy in Breed and then both going on to win Reserve Best in Show and Reserve Best Puppy in show respectively.  Thank you exhibitors for your sportsmanship on my decisions.  Overall the mouths were good although some dirty teeth, the temperaments were excellent, only one being a little shy. my concerns were upright fronts, and lacking upper arm.  Movement on the whole was good, and one overweight dog, a couple that were underweight could have done with a little more covering on them.

Minor Puppy Dog (3 Entries) Abs: 0
1st: CAWLEY & KING Summerview Perfect Percy

Nice baby to start the day, Shaded Red at his first show, lovely head and eye, nice front, Super feet, had the best topline and tail carriage on the move, Moved really well. Beaten in Puppy class by a more mature baby.
2nd: JOHNSON Charpurdy Just Andy

Black & Tan, another nice boy, had a nice head, good feet, slightly better ribbing then the 1st, but a little short in neck and losing topline on the move at present

3rd: PALIN Bear Adventura

1st: LOCKETT-WALTERS & WALTERS Ralines One Of Those

13 month old Cream Dog. Loved everything about this boy, super front construction, excellent feet, gorgeous head and eye, comes into his own on the move with the wow factor, super front and back and a lovely reach and stride in profile. One i would love to own, Pushed hard by the Open Winner, but he wasnt going to let go. Pleased my co-judge also loved him enough to give him BOB and delighted to see him go Reserve Best in Show,
2nd: NORTON Halunke Going Dutch

Another nice dark shaded red boy, Different Type but a elegant type I like, he also had a gorgeous head and eye and lovely neck length, little more on the leg then 1st, excellent profile movement when he didnt want to take off, but a little wide coming towards me.  A very useful Male to the breed.
3rd: McCARTHY Nagshall Wotsitalabout

Post Graduate Dog (6 Entries) Abs: 0

This was not a strong class and the 1st one stood away for me
1st: McCARTHY Nagshall Mr Tambourine Man JW

A rangier boy, Shaded Red, who had a lovely head and eye, would have liked a tad more weight on him and elbows could be tighter, but he had a lovely outline standing and on the move and was the best mover in the class

2nd: LATHAM-JACKSON Criscan Leonel of Urishay

Similar to one in type, strides out well, holding a good topline, nice head and eye. good feet.
3rd: COOPER Jumanda's Renaissance

Limit Dog (10 Entries) Abs: 1

Nice Class, but of very different types The first three could easily change places
1st: McCARTHY Nagshall Just Santana JW

Better moving dog, then stacked had a lovely shape, good front construction, lovely head and eye with good feet.

2nd: KENNEDY Denkena Loganberry

Cream dog, Thought this was my class winner, most gorgeous shape stacked, but didnt appear to handle the floor as well, and his 'Over the Top' temperment and  flying his tail didnt help. Another circuit of the ring gave me enough to see and once he settles im sure will do extremely well. He was also beautifully angulated both ends, lovely head and eye and super feet.

3rd: WOODALL Half Century at Rarewood, completely three nice dogs.

Open Dog (8 Entries) Abs: 0

A super Class, I was spoilt for choice and placings were hair splitting
1st: HALLWSORTH Ch Abydachs Aniseed

Winning a Strong Class Beautifully turned out Cream dog,  Has that look at me attitude. Lovely head and eye, Super bone and feet. Moves easily with drive with a super topline, Expertly handled to get the very best from him.  Unlucky to meet the Junior dog today who was on top form and just edged for me in profile moving.  RCC

2nd: TURNER Ch Rafthouse Herr Flick

Another lovely Silver Dapple hound, who at 8 years old is a credit to his owner, lovely firm outline standing and moving and can still show the young un's a thing or two. excellent hind angulation and a lovely head and eye shape and again extremely well handled.  Just preferred the younger boys on the day

Bitches

Thank you to the club for this lovely appointment which I thoroughly enjoyed. I appreciated my entry. Thank you for bringing such quality bitches for me to judge.

Minor Puppy Bitch (9,2)

1st Locket-Walters & Walters – Ralines Kandi Kisses

2nd Geeson – Abydachs Americana

1 was a lovely red with good pigmentation who had just a little better length of loin than 2. Both well angulated with good toplines and pleasing underlines. Nice heads with the first a little less domed in skull at this stage. A nice class.

3rd Phillips – Summerview Up And Coming For Daxphilly

Puppy Bitch (7,0)

1st McLachlan – Zarcrest Chillin Effects - BPB

2nd Worswick – Dolyharp Coppelia

Another quality class of youngsters. Both had correct fronts showing plenty of reach on the move. Nice toplines, well held. Ribbing good. Preferred head of 1.

3rd Norton – Halunke Just Magick

Junior Bitch (7,0)

1st Norton – Halunke Dutch Affair

2nd McCarthy – Nagshall Loralei

First three could have easily changed places on another day.  1 a little tall at this stage but still to drop, beautiful head with really good strong dentition. Second smaller but not quite as positive behind on the move. Preferred the front assembly of two but overall one presented a more balanced outline.

3rd Brooks – Lyndarlea Little Pearl

Post Graduate Bitch (10,2)

1st McCarthy – Nagshall Love Actually - CC

2nd Johnson – Charpurdy Just Willow

A very mixed class in type.  One really took my eye for her quality and balance.  Very little to dislike. Lovely cream with the beautiful pigmentation that usually accompanies this colour. Very feminine.  Balanced and correct angulation fore and aft with correct topline and sweeping underline. Moved very well.  Many of the above construction comments apply to the second and she was very unlucky to meet one on such good form.

3rd Crawley – Doujac Siamsu

Limit Bitch (11,2)

Again a very mixed class in type but some very good quality bitches.

1st McCarthy – Nagshall Just Go JW

Same way bred as my CC winner. Lovely cream with correct angulation and good quarters. Held topline on the move. Ribbing long and correct underline.  Well balanced.  Presented a lovely picture.

2nd Kennedy – Denkena’s Black Swan

Lovely feminine head of correct shape. Liked her a lot. Well angulated both ends with good topline held on the move. Only lost out to one as I preferred the height to length ratio of one.

3rd Poole – Findowrie Darcia Rose

Open (12,4)

1st Shutt – Longort Cassie Royale Of Donnadoon (imp) – RCC

Black and tan feminine bitch. Mature, very pleasing outline. Good front with prominent prosternum. Well balanced. Moved well.  Strong topline and sweeping underline.  Well angulated fore and aft.

2nd McCarthy – Nagshall Puppet On A String JW

Another nice cream from this kennel and mother of my CC winner. I obviously like this kennels type.  Very feminine. Well balanced. Moved well.

3rd Wood – Wildstar Wromance

Judge – A Morton (Cotherstone)
