Classes

A very good entry, and almost all home grown. Interesting to judge for the first time without scales, I would have been surprised to find any that were thin, and am pleased to say all were well covered, although some could have carried more muscle. I think this variety to be one of the better ones for having the correct proportions. Most had sufficient ground clearance, and not many were too long.

Feet were bad in the overwhelming majority of those here. This is a bad fault in a hunting/digging breed. Only the owners will know if it is down to genetics, husbandry or a combination of both. I came across a few less than perfect mouths. There were also rather a lot of incorrect coats. Long necks are as rare as good feet. Pigment can be a problem. Generally most heads were quite typical and eyes dark. So plenty for breeders to work on.

Veteran D (5,2)

1st H WILLOWHEATH HENDRIX (MRS P & MR D YOUNG) He has a v good outline, held on move with a firm topline. Lovely head, dark eyes. Would like more neck. Well laid shoulder, lengthy upper arm. Slack in pattern now. Well ribbed back. Fair rear. Super coming towards. Still a contenter for the top spots.

2nd LYNDARLEA SILVER MOON (MS L BROOKS)Shapely d, would prefer a better head. Needs a bit more neck. Good feet. Well ribbed back with a short loin. Shows his pads going away.  V well marked dapple.

3rd CH FINDOWRIE SKYE LORD (MRS M E POOLE)Has a super head and eye. Would prefer more neck and turns his feet out too much stood. He has a super body, well sprung ribs. Tail high set. In super muscle.

Minor Puppy D (2)

1st TIMSHAWS STORM QUEST (MRS A V M BOWMAN DAVIS) Free moving d, hope he stays within size once he fills his frame. Has a super head. Would prefer more neck. Well laid shoulder with a long upper arm. Feet a bit flat. Well sprung ribs. Could be shorter in loin. Holds a better topline than 2. V good out and back mover.

2nd LILACFEN SONNY DELIGHT OF YELVA (MRS V A EARLEY) More compact d, which I preferred. Has a pleasing head. Needs more neck and he too can improve in feet. fair front. Ribs are well sprung. Topline runs up at the moment. Not hind drive of winner.

Puppy D (7)

Quite a good class, first 2 really good ones and close up.

1st TOLBERG CREAM DREAM (MRS L & MR A BELL & ROWELL) He is a lovely shape, well balanced with correct length. Super head. Darkest of pigment. Enough neck. Well laid shoulders. Enough fore chest. Better pasterns and feet than 2. Holds a firm Topline.  Well made rear. He holds his shape on the move, where he goes with style. Liked him v much. RCC & BP

2nd SUMMERVIEW PERFECT PERCY (MR D & MISS J CAWLEY & KING) This dog excels in profile action, again goes with some style. Like his head. Enough neck. Just a bit slack in feet and turns them out too much. Well ribbed. Hold a firm topline. Well bent stifle. Correct depth of body. Ideal coat.

3rd LYNDARLEA KENNY (MS L BROOKS) Shapely d, who just had a bit more stride than those placed below him. Conical head, well shaped eyes. Could have more neck. Quite a good front with enough fore chest. Elbows could be tighter. Well sprung ribs. Topline ok. Enough hind angulation.

Junior D (6)

Disappointing class after the nice puppies.

1st OBDAX LYNN'S BADGER (MS L BROOKS) Liked his balance and uses his rear better than the rest. Has a pleasing head, although too narrow in underjaw. Quite a good neck. Well made front. Topline has a slight arch. Rear matches his front. Could have better feet.

2^nd SUDASAM LIVIN THE DREAM (MRS S J WAY)

Liked his shape, just very narrow in front and turns his flattish feet out too much. Masc head although too much stop. Super pigment. Quite a good neck. Well laid shoulder. Good spring of rib. Level topline. Like his turn of stifle, but tends to tummy tap.

1st NAGSHALL MR TAMBOURINE MAN JW (MRS C MCCARTHY) Shapely d who uses his rear v well on move. Masc head, would have better pigment. Fair length neck. Well laid shoulder. Needs better feet. Super ribbing, short loin. well muscled up. Slightly low at the wither, but holds his outline on the move.

2nd FOLLYFIELD FINDLEY (MRS J L PITFIELD) Took a while to settle, but quite a good mover. I liked his shape stood. Lovely head. Fair neck. Shoulder more forward than 1. Feet could be better. Looses his shape moving.

Post Graduate D (11,1)

 1st NAGSHALL MR TAMBOURINE MAN JW (MRS C MCCARTHY)

2nd GARBOSA BISTO BOY AT CHENIESVILLA (MISS G & MR D RYAN & CHERAS) Rather a nice choc, would insist on pulling on the move. He has a v nice head. Could have just a bit more neck. Well laid shoulder. Would prefer better feet. Super rib cage. Hold a level topline could just use rear better on move.

3rd TOLBERG SUPER TED JW (MRS L BELL) Carrying lots of coat which makes him look lower than he is Pleasing  head. Could have more neck and a better shoulder. Good fore chest. Well ribbed back. topline is ok. well bent stifle with low hocks. Makes most of himself on move.

Limit D (15,1)

1st ALINES ONE OF THOSE (MISS H WALTERS) Super d to go over, so v well made. Won this nice class with a bit in hand. He has a v good head, super pigment. Enough neck. Well laid shoulder, long upper arm placing his tight elbows well under him. Super ribs, short loin. Well made rear. He is so good out and back. Maybe could just use himself a bit more in profile, just looses his neck slightly.  Dog  CC

2nd DINKIDAX BROXA BOY AT RIBBLESMERE (MRS J DICKENSON) Good honest sort of d. Would prefer him to carry less coat to enhance his shape. On the final run preferred his underline to 3. Has a masc head. Fair length of neck. Quite a good shoulder. Could have more length of rib. Not hind action of 1.

3rd HALF CENTURY AT RAREWOOD (MRS C WOODALL) Liked the shape of this dapple, and carrying enough coat. Has a v good head. One of the better ones for neck. Feet could be better. Well ribbed. Nice rear. Just seems to lift himself up on the move, loosing his underline.

Open D (14 ,1)

1st H ABYDACHS ANISEED ( MRS J HALLSWORTH) Liked the compact shape of this sound d. He has a pleasing head. Dark eyes. Would like a little more neck. Fair front. Feet could be better. Well ribbed back. Holds a super topline. Well angled rear, which he uses quite well.

2nd CH RIDGEGROVE IN DISGUISE (MRS Y ANGEAR) This d has super feet and is so v well muscled. Has a v good head. Would prefer more neck and could be slightly better in topline. Good fore chest. Well ribbed back with a strong

Ioin. Well made rear.

3rd VDH CH INKO VOM BAIER DTKJCH11 [ATC AR02319DEU] ( MRS S STRATEN-BEIWINKLER) Completely different in type to the others placed in this class, like his proportions and one of the few that actually uses his rear. Has a good head. Fair neck. Well laid shoulder. Deep enough chest. Well ribbed. Holds a super topline. His hind action needed to be rewarded, rarely seen in this variety.

Good Citizen D (2)

1st NEERTANAUF SEA MAGIC JW SHCM (MRS S A BROAD) The more compact of these 2 and he uses his rear slightly better. Pleasing head. Quite a good neck. Rather narrow in front. Could have a better underline. Correct coat.

2nd TOTONIAN TOSCANINI (MRS C WOODAGE) Like his head, eyes could be better. Fair neck. Would like a better coat. Has a level topline.

Veteran B (9,3)

1st CH MINARD KRYSTAL DARQUE (T, S & J S GODDARD) Almost 14 but is in super condition and still well muscled. She really is a most beautiful Dachshund. Has a fem head. Super neck and front assembly. Carrying a little too much weigh and topline not what it once was. She has the most perfect rib with a short loin. Well made rear. Moved soundly still full of arrogance. Head had to rule heart when it came to the challenge.

2nd CH CHARPURDY JUST ISS (MISS A B JOHNSON) Liked this lovely b v much. She has a super head. Would prefer her just a little shorter backed. She too has a topline that isn't quite what it once might have been. Liked her rear. She outmoved 3. Quality girl.

3rd JUMANDA'S LILY (MRS E T COOPER)Slightly more compact b than 2, but not quite as good going around. She has a super head. Enough neck. Well ribbed.

Puppy B (9,1)

As with the dogs, this class was competitive with promising pups.

1st ABYDACHS AMERICANA (MISS E H GEESON) V promising pup, liked her correct proportions. Fem head. Dark eyes.  Fair length neck. Well laid shoulder. Would like just a bit more upper arm. Well bodied. Short loin. Holds a super topline. Low hocks. Holds shape moving.

2nd SUMMERVIEW UP AND COMING FOR DAXPHILLY (MR P A & MRS J E PHILLIPS) Quite raw looking but shows lots of promise. One of the few with good feet, and she has a lengthy neck. Fem head. Well ribbed back. Could have just a little more hind angulation, but moves well.

3rd RALINES KANDI KISSES (MRS R & MISS H LOCKETT-WALTERS & WALTERS) Lovely shape b with a super head. Would like a bit more neck and longer upper arm. Well bodied. Topline ok. Could just use her rear a little more, but a lovely trio.

Junior B (9)

1st DOLYHARP COPPELIA (MRS C WORSWICK) Comfortable winner of this class. She comes into her own on the move, accurate out and back and goes with a long, easy stride. Super, fem head. She has a longish neck. Quite well  laid shoulder. V good ribs. Holds a super topline. Rear angulation matches her front. Carrying plenty of coat of lovely quality. When moved a little faster she pulled her neck up even more. CC her elegance to her to BOB.

2nd BRONIA PEACH FUZZ (MISS E MITCHELL Compact b. Has a fem head. Lengthy neck. She has good feet, where so many fail. Nice front. Well bodied. Good bend of stifle and low hock. Would prefer better topline on the move.

3rd DEVONCREAM DIAMOND TRINKET (MRS L M BROWN) Pleasing b, would like a stronger head and just a fraction more bone. Could have more neck. Fair feet. Well bodied. Holds a good topline.

Yearling B (11,2)

3rd NAGSHALL LOVE ACTUALLY JW (MRS C MCCARTHY)V shapely fem b. Has a lovely grad. Dark eyes. Lengthy neck with a well laid shoulder. Would just prefer her slightly longer in fore leg. Well ribbed. Quite a good rear. Holds a level topline.

2nd FOLLYFIELD FILAMENA (MRS J L PITFIELD) Liked the proportions on this b and she has quite good feet. Head is ok. Quite a good neck. Just needs a little more upper arm. V good body , holds her shape on the move with a better topline than 3.

3rd XEMXIJA ICE FLIRTINI (MRS C BRACE) Has a super head, v fem. Dark eyes. Could have a slightly longer neck. Feet could be better. Just tends to loose her topline on move. Fair rear.

Post Graduate B (14,2)

1st CHARPURDY JUSTIFICATION (MISS A B JOHNSON) V good mover, arrogant head carriage and holds her lovely shape. Like her proportions, not too long. She has a v good head. Long neck. Well laid shoulder. Feet could be better. Just a bit short in keel. Lovely rear with low hocks.

2nd NAGSHALL JUST SO JW (MRS C MCCARTHY) She is just that bit longer and not so good in hind action. Super head with lovely eye and expression.  Could have more neck and better feet. Well ribbed. Good out and back.

3rd LYNDARLEA DOLLY FOR KIDDLES (MRS J HALSALL) V well marked choc dapple. Like her head. She has a fair neck. Could have better feet.  Could just drive a bit better from her rear and be firmer in topline. Nice general shape and proportions.

Limit B (16,3)

V difficult class.

 1st RIDGEGROVE POLLY ANNA (MRS Y ANGEAR) balanced b who has good feet. Fem head. Has quite a good neck. Well laid shoulder. Good forechest with ribs going well back. Good turn of stifle and low hocks. Goes around the ring well.

2nd HANISHAN EEZZY MAGIC NITE AT LYNDARLEA (MS L BROOKS) Liked her outline on the move. Could have a bit more strength of underjaw. Lengthy neck. Fair shoulder. Legs could be set more under her. Holds a super topline.

Fair rear.

3rd SUMMERVIEW TITTLE TATTLE JW (MR D & MISS J CAWLEY & KING) Like her proportions. Would prefer less stop, head isn't really houndy enough. Has quite a

good neck. Prominent forechest. Feet could be better.  Holds a level topline. Not quite rear action those above, but a useful sort of b.

Open B (17,4)

1st CH TOLBERG TIA DROP AT EMMAJESK JW (MR T W, MRS A & MR A ROWELL) Liked the shape of this b. Fem in head. Good eye and expression. Like her length of neck. Could have a slightly longer upper arm. Well ribbed. Good turn of stifle and low hocks. Just tummy taps a little, but holds a v good shape going round. Ideal length of coat.  RCC

2nd TAMMERA JUST ELEGANT ( MRS J HOLMES) V well made b. Would prefer a better head. Stood she has a good length of neck, but on move looses it slightly. Super ribs. Short loin. Nice rear.

3rd CH TOLBERG HOLLY'S LITTLE TILLY SHCM (MRS L BELL) Like the outline and proportions of this b. Has a v good head. Quite a good neck. Feet could be better. Well ribbed. Also tummy taps slightly.
