I would like to thank Blackpool for my invite to judge, this is my second time awarding CC’s in this variety and I was pleasantly surprised. My principle winners were full of quality and I was pleased with all class winners. However I was surprised at a handful of the dogs presentation, many were changing their coats which can’t be stopped but a few needed a good groom out. With entry fees increasing more focus needs to be given to the presentation of our beautiful breed, they are show dogs after all. As a whole I think there has been some improvements in the breed we now see a little more ground clearance, and a lot of the males now have beautiful hound heads, one thing to look out for is feet we seem to have lost those gorgeous chunky well-padded feet.
Class 834 Minor Puppy Dog (2)(1abs) 1st Poole’s FINDOWRIE THE FUSILEER Wow this puppy is something special and one to watch, with more maturity would have definitely been considered for top awards, black and tan dog in gleaming condition, masculine houndy head with correct strong dentition, the most correct of front and shoulder, sufficient spring and length of rib and strong well muscled hind quarters which he used well on the move BPIB.
Class 844 Puppy Dog (3)(2abs) 1st Gooderidge’s DINKIDAX MOONLIGHT SHADOW Black and cream dog smart little dog on the stack excelling in prosternum with well laid shoulders, good head proportions, I believe this was his first show in which his handler got the best from him. He covered the ground well on the move, slightly close behind at this stage could improve with maturity.
Class 845 Junior Dog (3)(2abs) 1st Geeson’s ABYDACHS ALPHA CENTAURI this dog has a lot to offer. The most stunning masculine head and eye shape and expression to die for, sufficient length of neck, your hands just flow over his shoulders and plenty of prosternum. The bone and feet on this boy are superb, many have poor feet. Presented to perfection and moved around the ring with drive. This boy is a lower type and feel my CC winner coped better with the ground on the day, RCC.
Class 846 Yearling Dog (1) 1st Poole’s FINDOWRIE MISTER MCKYE lovely dark shaded red ok balanced head with good eye shape and correct ear set, the darkest of pigment, excels in reach of neck, very balanced to go over, but was moving a little wide in front today. Could do with being more relaxed to the move.
Class 847 Post Grad Dog (3) 1st Norton’s HALUNKE DREAMS OF MAGIC smart red dog rangier type, coped with the ground really well today, beautiful head which he carries well on the move, plenty of neck sound angles for and aft, would prefer more padded feet. 2nd Brearley’s CALVIN’S DREAM OF ETERNITY AT XANADAX shaded cream dog of lovely type a real classic outline on the stack with plenty of pro sternum, well presented, preferred the front movement of the class winner, could be tighter in elbows. 3rd Mee’s BARLAINES COMMANDER
Class 848 Limit Dog (3) 1st Mee’s BARLAINE JUST WILLIAM compact shaded red that was so sound to go over, seriously considered for top honours just didn’t have to reach of neck and elegance of my CC and RCC none the less a very sound dog that could offer a lot to the breed. Super masculine head, lacks a little in reach of neck however this dogs front and shoulders are textbook, super bone and feet, with strong hindquaters which he really uses on the move. For a petite boy he can really drive around the ring holding a strong profile. 2nd Woodvine-Shone’s HANISHAN FIRE CRACKER also a smart dark shaded red, beautiful gleaming coat and fantastic pigmentation, a lot to like about him, his little bit of extra leg length allows him to glide around the ring he really shows himself, did not have the gorgeous chunky padded feet of the class winner but a lot to offer. 3RD Hall & Osbourne’s DINKIDAX ALL FIRED UP
Class 849 Open Dog (6)(1abs) 1st Poole’s FINDOWRIE MR MCKENZIE this dog caught my eye when he entered the ring, with his ease of movement, upon going over him you really appreciate how well put together this boy is beautiful dark pigmentation with that typical dachie almond eye and expression, good head proportions and good ear set, plenty reach of neck which he uses well on the move with elegant head carriage, very sound front and shoulder with lovely chunky feet. Super spring and length of rib. His rear angles mirror his fore angles which he uses to drive around the ring. This boy showed his socks off today, he was lacking a little in undercoat on the day like many, but could not deny this dog, would love to see him in full bloom. CC 2nd Hall’s CLIFFMERE WOODMAN typey red dog similar qualities to 1st however slightly longer cast and longer in loin, Also had good bone a feet, pleasant head plenty of neck, moved parallel coming and going, did not hold his topline as well as the class winner, but another sound boy. Dunhill’s ZARCREST FLASH GORDON AT GELLIJAM
Class 850 Veteran Dog (3)(1abs) 1st Way’s SUDASAM LIVIN THE DREAM I judged this dog as a young dog and liked him very much then, he has just got better and better with age, very masculine head, slightly broad in skull, good reach of neck lovely fore and rear angles, in super condition for his age so well muscled could challenge some of the younger dogs with his free movement, presented and handled to perfection BVIB 2nd Breese’s SILKDOWN PHOENIX RISING also very nice, lower longer type, the most beautiful elegant head and expression, similar qualities to first did not cope with the ground as well as the class winner today and seemed a little out of practise.
Class 851 Minor Puppy Bitch (4)(1abs) 1st Graham’s JADAG RAZZAMATAZ very pretty chocolate dapple bitch pup, lovely conical head super pretty face and expression, good eye shape and ear set. There no doubt she’s a little girl. Well dispersed markings, had a super topline on the move held by her well sprung long ribcage and strong well muscled loin, would prefer a little longer upper arm to create more forward reach on the move. 2nd Jury’s TORWOOD VOODOO SPELL pretty gold bitch still carrying her puppy fat, super bone and feet nice chunky pup. Pleasant head, nice type overall, plenty of pro sternum especially for one so young, unfortunately this girl wasn’t schooled. 3RD Stephani & Fletcher’s WALNUTFARM DEMELZA
Class 852 Puppy Bitch (3) 1st Poole’s FINDOWRIE JESSICA ROSE not a very glamorous bitch but very sound to go over and held her own on the move, good pigment, eye shape and ear set would prefer a little more foreface, sufficient neck, good front and shoulder and lovely bone and feet holds her topline on the move BPB, does not have the rear angulations of the dog puppy. 2nd Jury TORWOOD VOODOO SPELL. 3RD Stephani & Fletcher’s WALNUTFARM DEMELZA
Class 853 Junior Bitch (7) 1st Metcalfe’s METADALE HARMONIA just my type super feminine bitch with lovely angles fore and after moved parallel coming and going with clean pads. Lovely chunky well padded feet, so sound to go over with no exaggerations and held all of her attributes on the move will watch this girl with interest. 2nd Whitfield-Roberts’ DANDYDAYO SHE LIVES IN YOU another pretty bitch presented to perfection, a lot to like lovely and balanced on the stack, today she was loosing her front a little on the move.3RD Carey’s HONEYSUCKLE SCENT TO ME VIA DEBBIEJAY
Class 854 Yearling Bitch (3) Mason’s CROWNSLAKE QUEEN BEE black and cream bitch with nice head, good reach of neck, lovely head carriage on the move, very balanced on the stack and strong topline on the move, would prefer her to be longer in rib, schooled and presented to perfection. 2nd Shutt’s LITTL FUT PANDORA’S SECRET FOR DONNADOON (IMP RUS) a true dapple, beautifully marked chocolate dapple really sound to go over with a lot to like, stunning head good leading into long strong neck and strong topline, unfortunately she did not want to move today, will be interested in how this girl progresses when she has gained some more confidence. 3RD Jury’s TORWOOD BUFFY THE SLAYER
Class 855 Post Grad Bitch ( 5)(1abs) 1st Poole’s FINDOWRIE MISS MCFEE rich red bitch pleasant head, very good front and shoulder and similar rear angles, longer cast bitch and a little long in loin, a lot to like about her and she is very sound on the move, moving parallel would just prefer her to be a little more compact. 2nd Stephani & Fletcher’s WALNUTFARM FAITH really liked the type of this bitch super feminine with good head proportions tidy front and shoulder, good spring and length of rib, a little on the plump side and didn’t cope with the ground as well as the class winner, but a smart girl. 3RD Aneke’s SANMIK LITTLE BEAUTIFUL LADY
Class 856 Limit Bitch (2)(1abs) 1st Norton’s HALUNKE SUPER MAGIC this bitch is super sound, and was strongly considered for the RCC, not the type of my other principle winners would prefer more padded chunky feet, however super elegant type, beautiful head, enough front, and so so balanced, her hind quarters are lovely and she really drives around the ring like a little train, quality bitch.
Class 857 Open Bitch (4)(1abs) 1st Whitfield-Roberts CH DANDYDAYO KISS THE GIRL glamorous dark red girl presented to perfection, her coat was gleaming. Pretty head with super strong dentition, enough neck good front and shoulder, fab spring of rib, angles behind matched her angles in front, her gleaming coat makes her look super glamourous however to go over nothing is over exaggerated just a sound girl could not deny her CC and BOB. 2nd Drady’s TOLBERG CREAM SURPRISE AT INDIKO petite cream bitch, little finer than the class winner but everything in proportion, alike the class winner no over exaggerations. Super angles fore and aft, and although a lower type she really glided around the ring today. Super pretty head and excels in front a shoulder construction, sufficient length of rib and strong rear angulations, powerful mover for such a petite bitch RCC would just like a little more of her. 3RD Metcalfe’s METADALE ARIANDE
