Thank you for the excellent entry. I really
enjoyed judging our wonderful variety and I was pleased with the quality of the
dogs here. Clearly most in the breed know what appeals yo me and entered
accordingly. Very few toy type heads, most had good coats and all mouths were
fine. It was interesting to notice how many bitches weight between 9 and 10lbs,
and only one present could be described as a bit thin, for which I was grateful.
Good presentation can enhance a dog and may make the difference when the
placings are close. The 30 minutes spent a day or two before the show in
trimming really is time well spent. Look at the top winning dogs and see how
they have been presented, and try to learn how to do it.

MPD (3) 1 Macdonough’s Varrick Ben Lui. Very good outline which he kept
on the move. Lengthy and masculine head, ok for neck and the best front in the
class. Long ribs and a firm topline. Nice rear, in very good coat. 2 Dunstall’s
Metcroft Jimmy Mack. Very raw dog, rather up in the air at the moment. Superb
head, good neck. Front needs to tighten. Very good coat  and he holds his
topline well. 3 Punter’s Welcumen Oscar.

PD (3) 1 Clarke’s Reulemill Racing Post. Smart dog, super shape which he
retains on the move. Masculine head, very dark eye. Good neck, fair front with
correct angle and length to upperarm. Well ribbed with a strong loin, so a firm
topline. Shapely rear, coat could be harsher. Best Puppy. 2 Hunt’s Tysar Secret
Agent of Earthsea. Very raw dog, balanced in angulation and scored in topline
over 2. Quite true out and back. Very good coat. 3 Way’s Sudasam Showtime.

JD (4,1) 1  Robertson’s Soletrader Denis the  Menace. Super shape dog who is
so very good to go over. Long head, very good eyes. Really long neck and a good
front, excellent length of keel and rib and very good rear. Harsh coat. Holds a
lovely shape and level topline on the move. Could put more in but is such a
correct Dachshund. CC and BOB. 2 Hayward’s Foxearth News Flash. Lovely type dog
with a fabulous coat. Liked his head with very dark eyes. Long neck and a good
front. Not the length of keel of the winner. Has a firm topline, good angulation
to rear, a very good dog. 3 Oram’s Rosswell Luciano.

pgd (4) 1 Smith’s Dunns Pitts Zakajak. Not the type I would normally go for
but his soundness and construction deserved to be rewarded. Long neck, holds a
perfect topline and a very good coat. Carries a tad too much weight. 2 Hopgood’s
Dinns Pitts Artful Dodger. For type is very good with a super head.  Bit narrow
coming to and not the topline of the winner. Has a good neck, good ribcage and a
strong rear. 3 Howell’s Fallowfield Nutz About Toffy.

LD (9) Stron class, the five placed all had things I admired and could have
gone any way. 1 Kugow and Holt’s Waldmeister Jackson. JW. Best overall for type,
movement, coat and construction. Has a good head, which his ear carriage can
spoil. Long neck, good front but loses forechest a bit. Good topline, strong
rear and very good feet. Res CC. 2 Hayward’s Foxearth Fools Parsley.  Very
good dog for type. Long masculine head, lengthy neck into good shoulders. A bit
short in upperarm, firm topline and well bent stifle. Not in his best jacket on
the day. 3 Poxon’s Kapdach Acer Trier.

OD(4,2) 1 Robertson and Cocozza’s Soletrader Dax Factor. . Very dark dog who
presents a very good outline standing. Impressive in forechest. Super head,
lengthy neck, could have tighter feet. Well ribbed. He is a tad long for my
ideal. Well bent stifle, coat could be harsher. 2 Barney’s Molloney And Verrami.
Very different type and shape, but a well made and sound dog, long head with
very good eyes. Good neck, very good feet. Super coat, just looks a bit up in
the air for his length. I would imagine he looks great outdoors. 3 Fulton’s
Jonkaths Time Traveller to Bothlyn. JW.

MPB (10,3) 1 Price’s Samlane Rosaleen. Delightful puppy, full of naughtiness
but very outgoing. Super shape when she stands still and very sound moving, so
true out and back. Feminin, good neck and well bodied. So promising. 2 Kugow and
Holt’s Waldmeister Guillemot. Very raw type of pup with a super coat. Very good
head and a long neck. Can lose a bit of weight over shoulders. Grand body, very
good rear - should finish up very well. 3 Punter’s Welcumen Christmas Bonnet.

PB (10,1) 1 Waite and Hutching’s Molloney Sue Flay at Pedach. Super outline
and the most lovely head, long and feminine with beautiful eyes. Has a long
neck, well laid shoulders. Could have a longer keel. Hold her topline, pleasing
rear, very true, just needs to stride out a bit more. 2 Hardy’s Kushwin Enigma.
Very nice type of bitch who has a long, free stride. Feminine head and a super
neck. Good forechest, body and rib. Just needs to deepen in loin area. 3
Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Kasino Kween.

JB (6,1) 1 Miles’ Gunnrance Ophelia at Jaybiem. Really good bitch and so
well presented. Feminine head, good neck and well laid shoulders. Could have a
bit more forechest. Excellent topline, good rear and so very true on the move.
Considered for higher awards. 2 Price’s Samlane Pink Gin. Very good type bitch,
scores on the move. Feminine head and a good neck, well made and a firm topline.
Beat 3 on underline. Just needs coat to finish, coming in. 3 Presnail’s Taree
Ithica.

PGB (12,2) 1 Hardy’s Kushwin Dollar Myte. Well balanced feminine bitch
with a good outline. Feminine in head, well off for neck. Good forechest, holds
a level topline. Super coat. Could be a bit truer out and back but a very good
stride. 2 Walker’s Kapodach Lovit to Bitz to Roselle. Lovely type of bitch,
pretty true but not the hind action of the winner. Very good head with dark
eyes. Grand body, good shape on the move. 3 Miller’s Scotmariner Sea Beebie.

LB (12,3) Good class. 1 Hayward’s Foxearth Fresh As A Daisy. Super type
bitch, very well made. Very good head which is feminine yet strong. Long neck,
well laid shoulder, ok for upperarm. Superb ribcage, long and well sprung. Very
good rear which she uses on the move to drive around. Coat coming on nicely. CC
and a most worthy new Champion. 2 Hipkin’s Metrella Wotnot. Very good type
bitch, coat just about to blow. Super head, long neck and has a good forechest.
Topline can be firmer. Moves well behind, very good honest sort of bitch. 3 Kuow
and Holt’s Waldmeister Liberty.

OB (4,1) 1 Hutchings; Ch Molloney Zena Ghost. Super coat and
presentation, very good shape bitch, lengthy and feminine in head, long neck, a
bit forward in shoulder.  Has enough forechest, deep chest but not the keel of
the CC winner. Holds a level topline, sound mover when not taken too fast. Good
shape to her rear. 2 Hayward’s Foxearth Foto Copy. Nice type bitch, super coat
and head. Long neck, bit narrow in front, good ribs and firm in topline. Uses
her rear well. 3 Richards’ Wentwood If Only.
