DACHSHUND - MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

My first time giving CC's in the variety.  Temperaments on the whole were good and I found no dental problems.  I was, however, surprised by how many lacked the true dachshund foot, there was no arch to the toes, pads were thin and nails too long.  To compound this, feet were covered in soft wavy hair.

MPD
(4) 1 Fulton's Bothlyn Brigadoon.  I fell for this 7 month old pup, a dark brindle, he is well proportioned height to length, good bone, reasonable length of rib and keel, good shoulders and turn of stifle, moved well extending fore and aft.  Nice feet. Bit proud of his tail at the moment.  Should have a bright future. BPD. 2. Howells' Fallowmill Back to Front. Another very nice puppy - I think I preferred his head to one but on the move hind action not as good.  Good coat.  Well angulated fore and aft. 3.  Jones' Bimini King of Swing.

PD
(5) 1Bothlyn Brigadoon. 2 Kugow's Waldmeister Johnson.  Dark brindle, nice head and expression, well placed shoulders and upper arm, reasonable ribbing, good hind angulation but not the movement of one.  3.  Phillips' Curtisey Boogy Woogy.

JD
(3) 1 Pucketts' Foxearth Free as a Bird.  B/T, best proportions in the class, reasonable wire coat, on the move not true behind.  Nice teeth.  2.  Westerman's Kapodach Kool Kookie.  VHC in puppy class, I felt he could do with more weight.  Nice head and expression, moved quite well.  3.  Stephenson's Molloney Oh Oh Seven Von Wistex.

ND
(2)  1  Foxheath Free as a Bird.  2.  Neate's Beaucat Exfactor.  Red, difficult to assess, very nervous.  Reasonable coat, length and angulation OK, on the move he scuttled and tended to lose his topline.

PG
(3) 1 Kugow's Waldmeister  Samuel JW. Good wire coat, attractive head and dark eye, and keel, well proportioned, looks good on the stack, strong quarters, moved with drive keeping level topline, good feet.  2.  Hassall's Stargang Vegas Strip.  Smaller, more compact,n not quite the ribbing of 1.  Moved out quite well. Nice head and dark eye.  Nails need attention.  3. Adams' Angelholm's Figaro.

LD
(3) 1.  Punter's Welcumen Jeremy.  Brindle, reasonable wire coat, good front assembly, ribbing of good length, well turned stifles and strong quarters which he used to good effect on the move. A showman! CC.  2.  Howells' Fallowmill Back and Fetch JW Sh.CM.  Slightly larger, nice head and eye, not the shoulders of 1 but good ribbing keel and turn of stifle.  Strongly muscled quarters. Just preferred the overall picture of 1. 3.  Glue's Brindeckel Furrari.

OD
(4)  1.  Dance's Deepdax Overdraft to Far Emem Ir J Ch.  Dark brindle of good proportions, well off for bone.  Nice houndy head, arched neck in well laid shoulders, good ribbing. Well angulated behind, moved with drive and enjoyed himself.  RCC.  2. Blackburn-Bennett's Multi Ch Stargang Tigers Eye. Brindle, good coat, longer cast than 1, well angulated front and aft.  Moved with drive.  3.  Hassall & McLeod's Ch Sidelock Formula One.

MPB
(2) Two who are still very much babies. 1. Lancaster & Miller's Pellismer Deals a Winner. Nice looking puppy, good head and dark eye, good feet and angulation fore and aft. Moved well. 2.  Stephenson's Berryruud Mrs Pepperpot. This puppy needs time and also attention to feet.  The nails are too long so that she can't stand properly.  Reasonable outline when stacked.  On the move difficult to assess.  Coat OK but feet need to be sorted.

PB
(8, 1) 1.  Marston-Teal's Lordscarnie Love Life. Dark brindle, good head and expressive eyes, good proportions of height and length, reasonable ribbing and underline, well angulated. Best mover in class. 2.  McLeod & Hassall's Janjac MacZeen.  Nice little girl, close to 1 and I'm sure will change places on another day. On the move, just lacked the extension of 1.  3.  Blackburn's Stargang Fudge Cake.

NB
(2) 1. Blackburn's Stargang Moll Flanders.   Still a puppy but she was up together and seemed to love the showing.  Brindle, well proportioned and nice size, all in moderation.  Good wire coat, nice head and eye.  Moved out with extension for and aft.  BPIB, RCC.  I shall watch her in the future with great interest. 2.  Berryruud Mrs Pepperpot.

PGB
(7) 1.  Poxon's Kapodach Izzi Miyaki. Dark brindle, feminine head, good dark eye, correctly angulated shoulders, reasonable ribbing and keel, well turned stifles. Moved well both in profile and coming and going.  2.  Lancaster & Miller's Drakesleat Ott Stuff Pellismer.  Similar proportions to 1 and could change places on another day. I preferred the feet of 1.  3.  Jones' Bimini Rhapsody in Blue.

LB
(8,1) 1. Angear's Ridgegrove Diamond Doll, Stood out in this class.  Young brindle of excellent proportions, welloff for bone, nice feet, good ribbing and keel and well angulated both ends.  Best mover of the day, she showed a clean pair of pads going away and extended well fore and aft in profile.  CC and BOB.  2.  Poxon's Kapodach Sukiyaki. Older sister of PG winner, nice head and eye, good proportions height to length, not quite the angulation of 1 and on the move did not have the same drive. 3. Jones' Bimini Rhapsody in Blue.

OB
(4) 1. Blackburn-Bennett's Ch Stargang Lady Gaga. Real showgirl.  Dark brindle, nice head and dark eye, well laid shoulders, good ribbing and keel, well angulated, moved out well.  In the challenge, I preferred the outline of the winner. 2. McLeod's Sidelock Do I Look Bovvered. Nice head, good front assembly, not the length of 1 but still in proportion. Bit softer in coat.  Moved out well.  3.  Dance's Emem All Het Up.
