DACHSHUND - MINIATURE WIRE HAIRED

I enjoyed judging my first CC's at Windsor and thank the committee for the hospitality shown to me and my travel companion. I was amazed at the amount of dogs (mainly males) that were overweight but not just a few ounces but in some cases 1lbs, I do feel we still need to keep to a reasonable size as they are bred for a purpose. Temperaments on the whole were good, other than the baby classes. Mouths were generally good too as was presentation in most. Thank you the exhibitors for the super entry and the lovely comments after, you made my day.

MPD
(3) 1 Hunt's His Terricle, dark brindle, nice head, Lovely shape standing and holding topline on the move. Coat good, although could do with a little tidying Lovely rear angulation. Short in ribbing Moved well. 2 Phillips' Percy Vere, Another Dark Brindle. Similar remarks apply, Although not holding a good topline at present. Moved OK, nice Head. 3 Withheld.

PD
(3,1) 1 Jones' Bimini King Of Swing, Stood along but a lovely light brindle puppy, nice head, Well covered, super rear, moved beautifully holding a good topline. Good ribbing. Lovely head on good length of Neck BPD.

JD
(4,2) 1 Phillips' Curtisey Boogy Woogy, Excellent Coated dark brindle, Super Keel and Ribbing, good forechest, Nice Head, Although Prefered the head of 2. moved ok with lovely topline and underline which put him over. 2 Stephenson's Molloney Oh Oh Seven Von Wistex, Dark Brindle, lovely head, neck and shoulders, coat of good texture, needs a little tidying, Lovely temperament, Prefered his rear movement, and drove round the ring but was not holding his topline and preferred the under line of 1st.

YD
(1) 1 Neate's Beaucat Exfactor, Red dog, Nice Head, good Coat, presented well, Moved ok but not keeping topline.

PGD
(4) 1 McKenna's Waldmeister Wee Man At Tredreas, Big Dog, Lovely outline, well presented coat, good ribbing, super muscle condition and a excellent mover, which won him this class. A useful dog. 2 Hassall's Stargang Vegas Strip, Nicely presented compact, brindle dog, Good head, good ribbing, well angulated, moved well but preferred the outline and movement of 1st. 3 Adams' Angelholm's Figaro.

LD
(7,2) 1 McDowell's Waldmeister Charlie Brown at Aristodax, Brindle Dog, a taller type dog, Nice head, good rear angulation, coat could be a little harsher, but excellent body condition, super muscle, He won this class and the RCC on his super temperament and excellent free flowing movement. 2 Punter's Welcumen Jeremy nice shaped brindle, super coat, moved well, keeping good topline, Good Head shape and eye. not the movement or muscle tone of 1st. 3 Moore's Danvichar Euphrasia.

OD
(9,3) 1 Thorn Andrews' Ch Drakesleat Win A Lot, Hard Class to judge, different types, I loved the head on this dog, lovely reach of neck, Super shape stacked and keeps excellent topline moving. preferred his movement over the other dogs in this class. CC but in the challenge just preferred the extrovent temperament and reach and drive of the bitch. 2 Blackburn-Bennett & Kuranova's Multi Ch Stargang Tigers Eye, Light brindle Dog, loved the shape on this dog, super reach of neck, and well angulated fore and aft, but preferred the rear movement and head of the 1st. 3 Dance's Deepdax Overdraft Too Far Emem Ir J Ch.

MPB
(5) A difficult class to judge, as apart from one they were all shy little people. 1 Stephenson's Berryrudd Mrs Pepper Pot, Brindle, loved the shape on this baby, moved easily with lovely stride, lovely head, with sweet expression, needs a little tidying up and to gain in confidence. 2 Lancaster & Miller's Pellismer Deals A Winner, Another nice baby, lovely shape stacked with nice rear angualation, but losing topline a little on the move, and not the free movement of the 1st today, although a nice mover. 3 Goulding's Beckshound Moon Lillie.

PB
(9,1) 1 Black & Black's Drakesleat Cheez Der One For Bassodon. Well presented dark brindle, lovely coat, Liked her head and expression, and lovely neck into well laid shoulders, nicely angulated behind and Moved really well keeping a lovely topline, Handler got the best out of her at all times, A nice baby. 2 Thorn Andrews' Drakesleat Trix Of The Trade Close up to 1st, another looking a picture stood, nice head, good coat that was well presented. Also moving really well, but preferred the outline and topline of the 1st. 3 Daykin's Ashridge Dun Danzin.

JB
(9) Hardest class of the day for me to judge. Different types and lots to like about all of them, The first two gave me the biggest headache. 1 Price's Samlane Zaffiro Well presented brindle bitch, lovely head, eye and expression, lovely shape standing and moving, well angulated hindquarters, super rear movement, this is where she scored over 2nd. 2 Poxon's Kapodach Cup Cake Similar remarks apply, Gorgeous head eye and expression, held a slightly better topline than the 1st, but not as positive on the move as 1st. 3 Mcleod & Hassall's Janjac Maczeen.

YB
(1) 1 Jones' Bimini Starlight Express Stood alone, but a lovely shaped brindle bitch, super coated, good head, well angulated rear which she used on the move giving a lovely outline and true back movement. Would prefer a stronger head.

PGB
(7,2) 1 Blackburn's Stargang Moll Flanders Lovely baby. Loved her shape and profile. Well balanced with good angulations front and rear. Good prominent sternum ribbing well back and good depth. Well presented coat and in lovely condition, nice head and eye. Good furnishings. Moved soundly with super outline. Loved her. RCC & Best Puppy in Breed. 2 Rigby's Waldmeister Maud for Rigadac Playing her owner up standing, but when stood loosely presented a lovely picture, well presented coat, and super muscle. Took her placing on her lovely movement, really sound, keeping a lovely topline. 3 Walker's Deepdax In The Red at Roselle.

LB
(7) 1 Meredith's Deepdax Credit Crunch have admired this bitch from ringside, she is a lovely shape, standing and moving keeping excellent topline. Nicely angulated front and back, would prefer her stronger in rear movement, and felt the heat had got to her as she started to flag in the challenge. 2 Dunn's Barratini Bumble at Ashridge JW. Dark brindle bitch, lovely shape stacked moved beautifully with good topline. Nicely angulated front and rear. Would like a little more neck and a little bolder in temperament. 3 Jones' Bimini Rhapsody In Blue.

OB
(6) 1 Dance's Ir Ch Emem Sunny Spells This red brindle bitch showed her heart out today nice head and expression into super neck, loved her shape, nicely angulated, but when she moved wow, did she move, with such reach and drive, would like a little more coat to complete the picture, I do hope her 3rd CC will come along shortly as she well deserves it. CC Pulled out all the stops in the challenge won me over with her extrovert temperament and free flowing movement. Well done. 2 Thorn Andrews' Drakesleat Mass Wisteria,  a lovely youngest, super shape, loved her head and expression, presents a super picture, I'm sure will trouble the best in the not to distant future. 3 Lancaster & Miller's Drakesleat Stone Me With Pellismer.
