I enjoyed this appointment very much and thank the Club for inviting me in the absence of my very dear friend Birgit Hayward who was unable to judge due to illness.  I wish her a speedy recovery, and so wish ,she will be able to fulfil her appointment next year, as I know how much she was looking forward to it. I also would like to thank my ring stewards, Ian Seath and Abby Lusty who did a great job, I couldn't ask for more.  I don't do statues so moved them a fair bit.  Presentation on the whole was OK but many had dirty teeth, and a few with long nails which for me is unacceptable, many lacked muscle tone too, and please (some) look at your presentation of coat, some heads looked more like schnauzers than dachshunds, I am and I sure others, are always happy to help, so please ask.  Temperaments were good, A few puppies unsure of their surroundings, but that will come with time.

I was over the moon with my top winners, they looked like peas in a pod when they came into challenge and was thrilled to see them do well in Best in Show and Best Puppy in Show.

Veteran Dog or Bitch (5, 1 Abs)
1st: Kugow & Holt's,  Ora von den Kleinen Banditen at Waldmeister (Imp Deu)

7 Years old, Super coated Bitch, lovely head, Super mouth.  So sound when she moves with a super temperament, tail never stopped. Super feet.  Doesn't do the stack bit, but Won on her movement.

2nd Price's  Samlane Pink Gin,

Another girl I like, lovely type, Well presented, nice mover, losing her topline a little today, and not the coat of the 1st.  Lovely head. good hindquarters.

Minor Puppy Dog (4, 2 Abs)
1st: Thorn Andrew's Drakesleat If Looks Cud Kill

Loved this baby, gorgeous head, correct bite, lovely reach of neck in to correct shoulders.  Loved him on the move with super hind movement and excellent quarters and reach in front.  I could have watched him move all day, and he certainly could. Played up a little with another handler in challenge, but had already done enough for me, could find nothing to take the CC from him today, so it was his.  lost out to BOB by a smidge. A baby with a bright future.  Went on to win Best Puppy in Show under Sigurd Wilberg, there was no one more prouder than me.

2nd: Flowers & Buckle's  Metcroft Raspberry Beret

Red Brindle, Lovely head and eye, nice outline standing, but losing a little on the move. Super coat and well presented. Moved OK.

Puppy Dog (3, 1 Abs)
1st: Neate's  Beaucat Eddie Tor

Red Dog, nice outline stacked, good bone. and keeps a correct topline moving which was good . Nice coat, needs a little tidying.
2nd: Flowers & Buckle's  Metcroft Raspberry Beret

Junior Dog (1)
1st: Rose's Ridanflight Ricardo

Nice head, correct bite, Lovely well presented coat.  Presents a nice picture stacked. Good ribbing carried well back.  Keeps a good topline moving, which was sound, but not the reach in front of my winners,  Should do well.

Yearling Dog

Post Graduate Dog (2)
1st: Dance's Waldmeister Rova to You Emem

Nicely presented dog, good coat. moves soundly, but losing his topline a little.  nice head and eye, and good reach of neck.  A little too square for me.
2nd: Neate's Beaucat Chedda George - Nice head, feet not good, Coat needs tidying, not the movement of 1st and losing his topline.

Limit Dog (4)
1st: Howell's Fallowmill Sergio

Smart little dog, moves soundly with purpose, well presented coat. good temperament, lacks angulation of my winners.
2nd: Hayward's Taree Scoville at Wirefusion

Nice headed, dog, super coated, lovely feet moved well keeping a ok topline. cuts up in underline.  Lovely Temperament.

Open Dog (6, 1 Abs)
1st: Thorn Andrew's Ch Drakesleat Win Tin Tin

Well presented coat, lovely head and typical dachshund expression, lovely bone and substance. super body condition.  Well muscled as all were from this kennel. Best mover in the class, correct front, and carries ribbing well back, which a lot lacked.  preferred the outline and profile movement of the puppy so had to settle for the RCC
2nd: Phillip's  Ch Curtisey Boogy Woogy JW

Neat Dog, Super coated, moves well, keeping a good topline moving, Slopes too much, stacked for me. good reach of neck, not the outline and profile movement of 1st.

Minor Puppy Bitch (7)

Splitting hairs between these two puppies.  I liked them both
1st: Dance's Bimini Time to Travel to Emem,

Lovely coated puppy, super temperament, very compact package. pretty head, good mouth. moved well. Loved her shape and hammy quarters.

2nd: Rose's Ridanflight Remember Me

another nice puppy, Lovely temperament. not the coat of 1st, but a good coat, needs a little tidying.  moves with gusto around the ring, keeping a good topline.  Good presentation.  nice outline.

I'm sure they will swap places many times.

Puppy Bitch (7)
1st: Russell's I Dreamed a Dream

A easy winner for me in this class. Really liked this puppy, really neat little bitch, Super coated, super hind quarters which she used and moved so soundly, lovely head and expression, super neck  super feet. close up for top honours, I sure will do well. Presentation excellent. Best Puppy Bitch. will watch her career with interest.
2nd: Blackburn Bennett's Stargang Walking on Sunshine

Sweet headed baby.  Super temperament.  well presented coat, dips a little in topline when stacked, not the movement of the 1st  Superbly handled.

Junior Bitch (9, 2 Abs)
1st: Lancaster's Pellismer Stix n Stones

Nice type bitch, nicely balanced.  liked her head,  good reach of neck, little forward in shoulder, good outline, lovely hindquarters.  Coat good, well presented, could have a little less face furnishings.
2nd: Kugow & Holt's Waldmeister Annie

Another good bitch, super coat, nice head good ears, Excellent mouth,  lovely temperament.  Super muscle condition. just preferred the outline of the 1st stacked and on the move. Well presented and handled 1st class

Yearling Bitch (3)
1st: Thorn Andrew's Ch Drakesleat Scent Sybil

I have loved this bitch from the ringside, loved her to go over, gorgeous head, super shape standing and keeps it moving, super movement, so well balanced.  lovely presentation, super muscle condition.  lovely reach of neck into excellent front. had to give way to her kennel sidekick today as lacked the sparkle today, which the open bitch had and stole the CC so had to settle for the RCC today.
2nd: Hunt's Earthsea Lady Mooshine

Dark brindle bitch, pretty head and expression although a little round in eye, coat needs a little tidying, moves well keeping a good topline.

Post Graduate Bitch (11, 3 Abs)

The hardest class of all to judge,
1st: Jone's Bimini Out of the Blue

Lovely presented bitch, liked her outline stacked, and moved well keeping the best topline in class.  Nice head. Good feet and nice angulation behind.

2nd: Billinghurst's Drakesleat Scent Sueall for Jiljac JW

Preferred the type of this bitch, lovely head and expression, good angulation back and fore. not moving as well today and losing her topline a little.  Preferred the outline and movement of the 1st on the day.

Limit Bitch (10, 2 Abs)
1st: Daykin's Barratini Hot Gossip

Nice type, lovely head and expression, well presented coat. good front, enough neck.  moved soundly, Not the outline of my top winners.
2nd: Poxon's Kapodach Cup Cake

Loved the head on this bitch, loved her outline. lovely hind angulation, moved soundly and good topline, a little forward placed in shoulders and needs a wee bit of tidy head and neck.  very nice bitch who was really close up to 1st.

Open Bitch (9, 5 Abs)
1st: Thorn Andrew's Drakesleat May Contain Nuts

Have never seen this bitch look better,  not handled by her owner and the change obviously worked for her, she really was out to win today. she really strode out, keeping a super outline, standing she looked stunning, her coat was presented beautifully, super neck into good shoulders. well sprung ribs that  went well back.  Lovely head and dark expressive eyes.  Super hindquarters which she really used and was well muscled. Thrilled to give her, her crowning CC. In the challenge the puppy dog started to give in and she took full advantage of this and won BOB, and then went on to win Reserve Best in Show. Congratulations

2nd: Dance's Emem Candy Sunshine

Have judged this bitch before and haven't changed my opinion of her, really unlucky to meet the 1st today who was bang on form, super presentation, nice head and expression although a little round in eye for me. moved soundly away and back to me and in profile keeping a lovely topline.  Preferred the shape and extension of the 1st in this class.
