I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge and thank the exhibitors for entering and for accepting my decisions sportingly.  Thanks also to my two ring stewards who kept everything running so smoothly.  I am honoured to award CC’s in the breed that I care deeply for.  I was looking for a hardy hound with an outgoing temperament and sound movement, that was as close as possible to the requirements of our Breed Standard.  Therefore those that were reticent to come forward or were not of the 1:2 ratio, were placed accordingly.  I was also surprised at the number of exhibits with incomplete dentition.

I was pleased with my principal winners, all of whom didn’t falter on several circuits of the ring and were happy to come forward to my outstretched hand.

Minor Puppy Dog – 3

1st Flowers and Soderberg Baltiskiy Talisman Indiana Jones (IMP RUS)

Lovely dark brindle with the harshest of coats.  Moderate all through.  Masculine head with kind expression, enough front, ribbing and good hind angulation.  Not yet settled well into his stride but sound enough on the go round to earn his place

2nd Howells Fallowmill Pochard

Another nice youngster.  Up to size and a tad longer than the first but nevertheless a nice boy with reachy neck, good angles and steady on the move, holding his topline.  Preferred the shorter loin of the first.

3rd           Morris’s Pennywave Swagman

Puppy Dog - 4

1st and RCC Hunt’s Earthsea’s Billy The Kid

Happy boy with everything in the right place.  Good coat, lovely masculine head with a kind eye, good reach of neck and front construction, correct dentition.  Moved soundly, kept his topline, has a lovely underline and correct double coat.  Exuberant temperament and energetic movement.

2nd          Flowers and Soderberg Baltiskiy Talisman Indiana Jones (IMP RUS)

1st in the previous class.

3rd           Whitehouse’s Baltiskiy Talisman  Idealny Vybor

Junior Dog – 6 (1)

1st           Kemp’s Barratini Teddy Boy at Lokmadi

Very attractive brindle with good bone and a kind male expression.  He keeps a good shape around the ring and is sound back and fore with good muscle tone.  Would have liked him to have a little more confidence.

2nd          Smith’s Alpheratz Ulises (IMP ESP)

Red with a super coat and eye catching head.  Still raw and rangy and not settled on the move so hard to assess his soundness.

Post Graduate Dog – 4 (2)

1st           Marston Teal’s Lordscairnie Moment of Love

Balanced boy with a strong head.  Good top and underline, used his rear well.  Clean neck and shoulders and decent length of ribbing, which is lacking in so many.  Could have been more confident.

2nd          Miller’s Palsuz Basil

Dark brindle boy with super coat.  A little fine all through but well put together, with moderate angles and a steady stride.  Topline not always held on the move.

Limit Dog - 4

1st           Shone’s Hanishan Bezique

Red dog that looks like he could go all day.  Confident, bouncy, sound and well put together with a short, strong loin.  Harsh body coat, head a little soft.  Angles well used to drive him round the ring, wagging his tail.

2nd          Fulton’s Brookliad Sir Agravaine at Bothlyn

Chocolate boy who I have long admired.  Over the desired weight – harshest of coats, super feet and bone and ribbing to match his length.  Beautiful front and shoulders, with tight elbows.  Temperament not as bold as 1st.

3rd           Hayward’s Foxearth Fiddler On The Roof

Open Dog - 4

1st           Rose’s CH Ridanflight Ricardo – CC and BOB

Energetic young dog with good reach and drive.  Lovely to go over on the table, with flowing lines and keeps a solid outline on the move.  Good bone with harsh coat, well ribbed, good neck and shoulders and enough front.  Parallel out and back, driving from well developed quarters.  Well deserved CC and BOB.

2nd          Fulton’s Bothlyn Brigadoon JW

Shorter cast dog with good ribbing, lovely turn of stifle and keeping a good outline.  Moved soundly, just not as confident as 1st

3rd           Phillips Curtisey Boogy Woogy

Minor Puppy Bitch – 5 (1)

1st           Price’s Samlane Belleza

Pretty baby, well balanced with a lot to like.  Scores in head, ribbing, dentition and good angulation.  Well bodied with a short loin and smooth underline.  Still a bit unsettled on the move as were all this class but she steadied enough to show how she can stride out when she decides to!

2nd          Fulton’s Bothlyn Sweet Penny

Harsh coated dark brindle.  Smaller all round than first but well constructed with super ribbing, and strong hind quarters.  Moved soundly with drive, just preferred head of 1st.

3rd           Flowers Bingobongo Feliciana

Puppy Bitch – 5 (1)

1st, CC and BP     Mobley’s Jakanem What You Will

Pretty dark brindle, maturing nicely.  Correct height to length, with good ribbing and a short, strong loin.  Harshest of coats, with close fitting undercoat, extrovert temperament and moved with purpose and verve.  Moderate all through with a strong head, reachy neck, kind eye and correct mouth with strong teeth.  Just needs the finishing touches of maturity to complete the picture.  Effortless movement on several circuits of the ring, she just got better and better.  Pushed the dog all the way for Best of Breed.

2nd                Flowers Bingobongo Feliciana

3rd in the previous class and another nice puppy.  Tad longer then first.  Also has good ribbing, strong neck, sweet head and a good coat.  Moved sound and steady.

3rd           Walker’s Roselle Irene

Junior Bitch – 8 (3)

1st           Kirkwood’s Helydon Fabulous Freya

Brindle bitch of lovely type.  Sweet head and expression, short loin and hammy quarters that she used well on the move.  Good front and shoulders, kept an excellent top and underline.

2nd          Russell’s Russteck I Dreamed A Dream

Dark brindle bitch who was also a pleasure to go over.  Oval front, well laid shoulders and standing on super feet.  A quality exhibit with crisp coat, strong head and sound on the move, just preferred height to length ratio of 1st.

3rd           Meredith’s Deepdax Perrie

Post Graduate Bitch – 8 (3)

1st           Jones Bimini From Russia With Love

Well sized bitch with good ground clearance, correct double coat and complete dentition.  She moved with energy and exuberance, holding her outline well.  Strong head, elegant neck, good front and shoulders.  Short loin, good angles both ends and well developed quarters.

2nd          Oram’s On the Spot at Rosswell

Compact bitch that was not on her best behaviour.  However she is well made and sound coming and going with a super temperament.

3rd           Whitehouse’s Rioban Faberge

Limit Bitch- 8

1st           Howell’s Fallowmill On The Button

Feminine bitch with a lot to like.  Scored in outline, length of ribbing and her steady stride that was effortless.  She is compact and everything is in proportion.  She has good angles both ends and uses them well on the move.  Not the most extrovert but did not back off and was happy to come forward to the hand.

2nd          Morris’s Stargang Quintine at Pennywave

Bigger bitch with similar good qualities to the 1st.  She has a good coat, good angles and well filled front.  She holds a good topline and smooth underline.  She was just not quite as flowing on the move as the 1st.

3rd           Grant’s Granhoward Jessie

Open Bitch – 11 (3)

1st  & RCC             Shone’s Hanishan Eau Classique

Solid bitch that looks like she could do a day’s work.  In super hard condition with a pin wire coat, strong head, correct dentition and an easy stride that ate the ground up.  Extrovert temperament and keen expression, coupled with correct height to length ratio earned her the place.

2nd          Daykin’s Barratini Hot Gossip JW

Another lovely bitch of good make and shape with a pretty head and expression.  Well bodied and moderate all through with enough angulation and a well filled front, also moved well and is parallel both ends – 1st just a tad shorter in the loin

3rd           Addoo’s Reulemill Freya Freywood
