Thank you to this Society for this invitation to judge m/w. There was a relaxed and friendly atmosphere with some appreciative support throughout my class placings. All exhibits were presented in good form and all temperaments were good. My overall entry was up on previous years so thank you to those who supported me. My most efficient steward Alison Wren kept proceedings running smoothly enabling me to finish in good time. MPD (3) 1 Kirkwood-Emery, Helydon Laird Loki. Only 6 months but shows such promise. Pleasing to go over, scores with good proportions in head with plenty in foreface and correct dentition, lovely in eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Reachy in neck with a good front assembly. Even at this early stage he has a forward body with plenty in rib, good in top line with a correct underline all leading to a well angulated rear finished off with parallel hocks. He moves out on the out and back with a positive attitude although at times tended to wave his flag, this will settle trust me I should know! Coat texture is spot on, today BPD, one for the note book. 2 Fulton, Bothlyn Super Trouper. Again plenty to admire on this exhibit. Scores with his masculine well-proportioned head. Good in eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a correct front assembly. Top line is good which leads to a well angulated rear. Bone and feet are correct. Presented in good coat texture; to complete the picture just needs to fill his frame. 3 Fetcham, Kimblehulme King of Hearts. JD (1) 1 Thorn-Andrews, Ch Alncroft over the Moon Drakesleat. All quality exhibit and so pleasing to go over. Typical in head qualities which has correct balance with good strength in jaw with excellent dentition. Super in eye which gives off an alert expression. Plenty in fore chest with parallel forelegs. Correct in bone with the best of feet. Top line is solid with plenty in rib. Underline is correct with a firm loin which in turn leads to a well set tail. Correct in hindquarters with plenty in stifle finished off with strong parallel hocks. Used himself to good advantage on the out and back displaying accurate foot falls holding his outline on the go around all finished off with excellent coat presentation. Today the RCC, unlucky to run into his stable companion in such sparkling form! ND (1) 1 Fulton, Bothlyn Super Trouper. PGD (1) 1 Clare, Lordscairnie Love God. Fair exhibit to go over, would prefer a little less width in skull but eye and expression is good. Neck and fore chest is good, body outline is correct with plenty in rib. He stands on good bone with neat feet and was presented in harsh jacket. However does move out with his tail clamped which in turn spoils his outline on the go around. LD (2,1) 1 Kugow & Holt, Waldmeister Aldo JW. Plenty to admire about this exhibit and is pleasing to go over. Excellent in head which has correct proportions with good strength in fore face with good dentition. Dark in eye which enhances his keen expression. His neck flows into a clean well laid shoulder. Plenty in fore chest with good ribbing. Top line is sound with a good under line with a firm loin with a well angulated rear. He has good bone with correct feet. His jacket was presented in the correct texture. Standing he gave off a pleasing outline. I felt he was not totally happy on the surface on the move, should however make the grade to the upper house! OD (3,1) 1 Thorn-Andrews, Ch Drakesleat Win a Lot, with hindsight what a clever name! This nine year old exhibit is still in sparkling form displaying such youthfulness in all departments. Classic in head of correct proportions, super in eye and expression. Reachy in neck which flows into a correct front assembly with plenty in fore chest. Elbows tight to his ribbing with parallel forelegs. Top line is still rock stolid with a good underline. Firm in loin which leads to a well set tail. His rear is well muscled with firm low set hocks. On the move he displayed excellent foot falls on the out and back holding his outline at all times on the go around. In the line-up he fended off the challenge from is younger stable mate to claim the CC, his 43rd thus making him the new breed record holder for BoB. He was still giving one hundred percent so claimed that as well. As I said in the beginning "Win a Lot" yes he certainly has, 42 other judges cannot be wrong. Congratulations! 2 Fetcham, Kimbleholme Jackpot. A fair exhibit with plenty to admire. Head is ok, would however prefer a better eye. Not the neck of the winner but is sufficient, plenty in rib with a firm top line with a correct underline. Hindquarters are well muscled with firm hocks, however not the drive from the rear but held his outline on the go around. Presented in excellent coat texture. MPB (4,2) 1 Fetcham, Kimbleholme Pot of Luck. Has promise with plenty to admire. Correct in head which is feminine with good balance. Excellent in eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Plenty in neck with correct front assembly. General outline on the stack displays correct balance. She is well off for bone with neat feet. On the move she displayed confidence and was presented in good order. 2 Kirkwood-Emery, Helydon Lexi's Lily. Only six and a half months old but has type. Feminine in head with a good eye and expression with correct dentition. Whilst stacked her over all body outline is good, her bone and feet are correct and her jacked is crisp, Despite her very young talented handlers encouragement to move she was today not playing ball but it's great to see youngster having a go. Good luck for the future! PB (4) For me the class of day, four very promising young ladies all with plenty to offer! 1 Dance, Emem Gloria Sunshine, so full of attitude and is hard to ignore. I personally would not penalise a puppy for being a little wayward, I say let them enjoy themselves, there is plenty of time for them to stand like statues later on! This young lady is certainly enjoying herself in the ring. On inspection her head has correct balance with plenty in fore face with good dentition. Super in eye and expression with plenty in fore chest. Elbows are kept well in and her forelegs are parallel. She excels in ribbing which leads to a good loin. Top line and under line is correct finished off with a well angulated rear with firm low set hocks. On the move she puts all in displaying accurate foot falls on the out and back with a pleasing outline on the go around. Presented in good jacket. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch and Best Puppy in Breed. Whilst I was mindful of her age in the line-up I could not deny her the RCC should go all the way to the top! 2 Grant, Ownly Granhoward. Very smart individual with plenty to admire. Feminine head qualities which has correct balance with good strength in fore face with excellent dentition. Lovely in eye and expression. Reachy in neck which flows into a good front assembly. Keeps her elbows tight to her ribcage which has good spring and length. Correct in top line and underline with enough in rear angles. She stands on quality bone with good feet. Presented and handled by the master to gain maximum output and pushed the winner all the way. Just needs to settle in her rear, in time this will materialise. One to watch out for! 3 Daykin, Barrantini Angels Eve. Another quality girl with plenty to admire all through and I'm sure will change places on another day. Absolutely no disgrace here! I must say even the fourth will have her day!!! JB (4,1) 1 Black, Bassodon Dodecahedron, correct for overall breed type. Good balance in her feminine head with a dark eye which gives off an alert expression. Correct in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Ribbing is good with correct top line and underline leading to a firm loin with a well angulated rear; finished off with parallel hocks. On the stack her outline is eye catching, on the move she was sound on the out and back. Presented in good order, with normal luck should reach the top. 2 Hunt, Earthseas Miss Esme. Another smart individual of good merit. Feminine in head which has correct balance. Good in eye and expression. Plenty in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Good in ribbing with a correct top line and underline. She has quality in bone with neat feet. Another that showed accurate foot falls on the out and back holding a true outline on the go around. Unfortunately had left her jacket a home today. 3 Grant, Granhoward Ethel. NB (3,1) 1 Dance, Enem Astral Traveller. Typical all through with a feminine well-proportioned head with a dark expressive eye. Plenty reach in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Good in body with a level top line which leads to a firm loin. She is well angulated in her rear finished off with parallel hocks. Used herself to good advantage on the out and back and held her outline on the go around. Sympathetically handled to gain maximum output. 2 Marston-Teal, Lordscairne Moon Over love. Correct in most departments with a feminine head with a good eye and expression. Overall outline on the stack is pleasing but could not match the winner on the move mainly lack of rear drive but was well presented. PGB (3) 1 Maxwell, Bardrestan African Queen. Has breed type, feminine in head with correct proportions. Kind in eye which gives off a pleasing expression. Body balance is correct. Bone and feet are good. Top line is solid which leads to an ok rear. Would however benefit for more length in rib which in turn would improve her underline. Did however have correct texture to coat. 2 Thackwray Dathacks Perfect Diamond. Fair exhibit all through with a pleasing head, eye and expression. Plenty in neck with good development in body. She stands on good bone with neat feet. Carrying a little too much weight but is not long back from maternal duties. Moved out well. 3 Selley, Ubu Belarius Nahla to Heleannie. LB (5) Good class! 1 Daykin, Barrantini Chatters. Plenty to admire about this individual. Feminine well-proportioned head with strength in fore face and good dentition. Lovely in eye which gives off an inquisitive expression. Plenty in neck which flows into a clean front assembly. Good development in fore chest with parallel forelegs and elbows kept well in. Close to ribcage. Top line and underline good with a firm loin. Personally I would prefer a little more bend in her stifle but this did not detract from her movement. Sound on the out and back holding her outline on the go around. Presented in excellent condition. Would not be surprised to see her reach the top! 2 Thorn-Andrews, Drakesleat Gilder Lily. So much to admire on this one. Ultra-feminine in head which has correct proportions with a keen eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a good front assembly. Ribbing is good with as firm top line and good underline. Correct in loin finished off with a well angulated rear, just felt she needed a little more confidence on the move. As usual presentation was "A1" I'm sure will have her day! 3 Maston-Teal, Lordscairne Life of Love. OB (4) Good class! 1 Ch Drakesleat Stich in Time. I last judged this exhibit back in February 2016 at the Dachshund Club of Wales Championship Show. She had been sent forward by Dachshund expert Mr Daniel Roberts to compete for Best Puppy in Show. That day I could not find anything to lower her colours so today she returned with her crown as I predicted. Yet another top draw example of this breed from this highly successful kennel. She is so pleasing to go over with an ultra-feminine head which has correct balance with good strength in fore face with excellent dentition. Lovely in eye and expression. Plenty in neck with a good forehand. Excellent in rib with a correct top line and underline. Firm in loin which leads to a well angulated rear finished off with short parallel hocks. She moved out with true purpose on the out and back holding a pleasing outline on the go around. Coat texture is spot on. Delighted to add to her tally of CC's today whilst putting up a sound performance for BoB. Just losing out to the unbelievable soundness of her stable mate! 2 Oddie & Dyer, Banburg Svetlana at Sharnphilly. No denying this one has quality to spare. Eye- catching individual on entering the ring. She is feminine in head which has correct balance. Good in eye and expression. Correct in neck and fore quarters with parallel forelegs. Elbows kept well in, good in rib with a firm top line and correct underline. Firm in loin which leads to a well angulated rear. I would have preferred a crisper jacket but did move out with style pushing the winner all the way. With normal luck will probably reach the top! 3 Kirkwood-Emery, Helydon Fabulous Freya.
