I must say thank you to all the exhibitors for the lovely entry awaiting me at Midland Counties. The weather was so wet and miserable but between us we fought the elements. Thank you to my steward Gary Golder. There were a few dogs overweight and more gay tails than I prefer, but temperaments are happy and typical Mini-Wire.

MPD (3) 1 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Cazino. Lovely baby with a pleasing hound head and correct eye. Good front, neck and topline helped by correct shoulders. Very stylish on the move. Good legs and feet and good quarters. A promising puppy.

2 Grant’s Pennywave Percy At Granhoward. These two puppies are very promising. He has a good head and eye and neck falls into well placed shoulders. Excellent coat and well presented and moved with purpose. 3 Storton’s Dereheath Tony The Lonely.

PD (1) 1 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Jenga. Stood alone but not disgraced. I liked his head, eye and expression. Neck falls into a lovely topline. Good front and ribbing. Correct hind angulation and sound on the move.

JD (4) 1 Thorn-Andrews & Billinghurst’s Drakesleat Kumquat May. I liked the balance of this dog. He has a good head and eye and excellent front assembly. Correct topline and nicely angulated quarters and when he settled, he moved well. 2 Feetham’s Hanishan Checkers At Kimbleholme. Typey masculine head and expression. Good neck and forechest leading onto well placed shoulders. His topline is held throughout and drives well off his quarters. In lovely coat and well presented. 3 Black’s Lordscairnie Cauld Be Love Bassodon.

PGD (5) 1 Salisbury’s Pennywave Nosey Parker At Brocklewood. This little chap is a show off, he is very outgoing and stylish. Pleasing in head and eye. Super front and excellent topline. Neck sits into correct shoulders with good legs and feet, used well on the move. 2 Phillips’ Gulliagh Loganberry Of Robinswood (IKC). Another promising youngster just needs to settle on movement. Pleasing head and expression with a slightly arched neck. Shoulders well laid, good topline and spring of rib. 3 Tite’s Onitsuka Tiger Vitoraz At Rijobeau (Imp Cze) NAF TAF.

LD (4) 1 Clare’s Lordcairnie Love God. A dog with a lot of style and presence. He is so smart he draws one’s attention to his sound driving movement. A pleasing construction which he uses well. I like him a lot and think he will have a good future. 2 Mills-Jones’ Carlita Sunrise JW. A dog with a good quality hound head and correct eye. I liked his legs and feet. Good topline and underline, covered in a correctly presented coat. His body was pleasing, and he moved well. 3 Hayward & Howell’s Fallowmill Cambera.

OD (8, 1) 1 Rose’s Ch Ridanflight Ricardo. I have heard much about this dog but never had the privilege of handling him. All I can say is that I was not disappointed in construction, presentation and temperament. He is a credit and an asset to the breed. What a showman I was pleased to award him DCC and Best of Breed. 2 Jones’ Ch BImini Starstruck. This dog is sired by my DCC. Winner and in this instance its “like father like son”. A stunning youngster of the type that I like. Gorgeous head and expression. Strong well muscled neck leading onto correctly placed shoulders. Good forechest, well coated, correct legs and feet. Excellent topline and underline. Strong quarters used well in correct movement. A pleasure to award him the RCC. 3 Thorn-Andrews’ Ch Drakesleat Ivor Notion.

VD (2) 1 Hayward’s Taree Scoville At Wirefusion. Very stylish head and eye with clean, correctly placed teeth. Strong shoulders leading onto a firm topline and underline. Good hammy quarters, used well on the move. 2 Phillips’ Ch Curtisey Boogy Woogy JW. A credit to the owner as this nine and a half year old Champion looked fit and well. He has a beautiful head study and expression and well presented but not quite the movement today, of the first place.

MPB (4) 1 Jones’ Bimini Chasing Moonbeams. What a lovely youngster with a super head and eye, good neck and shoulder. Excellent body shape and topline. I loved her angulation which she used to perfection in both standing and moving. A star of the future. Very nice. 2 Feetham’s Kimbleholme Taboo. Another lovely type with a sweet head and correct eye. I liked the front assembly with a correct pro-sternum. Good body shape and promising quarters used well in fair movement. 3 West’s Archidax Dark Phoenix.

PB (4) 1 Hayward’s Janter Riddle. I was impressed with this Red youngster and will follow her progress with interest. She is a lovely

shaped bitch of the type that I like. Super headpiece with correct eye. Neck sits into the best of shoulders. Loved her topline and underline. Good ribbing and well angulated quarters which enabled her to move so well, with purpose. A joy to see. BP. 2 Howells’ Blackvein Vixen At Fallowmill. Another pleasing puppy, as yet, a little immature, but all the assets point to a promising future. Sweet head and expression, correct neck, leading onto good shoulders, correct topline and body. Hindquarters she uses well on the move. 3 Kirkwood-Emery’s Helydon Nifty Nairn.

JB (10, 1) 1 Blackburn’s Stargang Minnesota. She has a sweet head and expression, correct mouth, front and shoulders. Presented in super condition with good coat. First class topline and good strong accurate movement. 2 Fulton’s Bothlyn Penny From Heaven. A very nice young bitch that took my eye, very promising indeed. Correct head, neck leading on to well placed shoulders. Promising front, top and underline. Very good hind quarters and producing good movement. 3 Hunt’s Earthseas Ermintrude.

PGB (12, 3) 1 Weeks’ Beldrew Flora At Avon JW. She is very elegant and stylish this bitch. I liked her presence in the ring, she looks very promising. Super headpiece, leading onto a commendable body shape. Moved on strong legs, sound and true. 2 Fulton’s Jolanda Uptown Girl At Bothlyn. Another up and coming and what I call the “good old type”. Good Hound head and strong body supported by the very best legs and feet. Strong movement is evident. 3 Morris’ Stargang Peggy Sue At Pennywave.

LB (10, 2) 1 Blackburn-Bennett’s Stargang Rays Of Sunshine. What a ray of sunshine she is. It was a delight to handle this bitch, such a sweet head. Very feminine and looked a picture. Structurally she pleased me in every department when she was on the stand and it all came to life on the move. RBCC. 2 Meredith’s Deepdax Let’s Dance. Another of the type that I like with a feminine headpiece, nicely shaped eyes and expression. Neck flowed into well placed shoulders. Good front legs and feet and a nice body shape. Not quite the hindquarters and drive that I like. 3 Black’s Bassodon Dodecahedron JW.

OB (10, 4) 1 Thorn-Andrews’ Ch Drakesleat Too Gud To Be True. What a good name for this bitch. She is beautifully constructed and has an elegant feminine head. Kind eye with a lovely depth of expression. Correct neck leading on to well set shoulders, level topline and strong underline and powerful hindquarters. What a picture. BCC. 2 Jones’ Ch Dimini Blue Moon JW. A good second place in a strong class, this was the most competitive of the day. I liked her houndy head very much and she was a delight to handle. I think that she enjoyed it as much as I did when going over her body. I found almost nothing to criticise, a close decision. 3 Dance’s Ch Emem Summer Sunshine JW.

VB (3, 2) 1 Pain’s Trixhund Tattiannie Ravensbeech. An 8 year old bitch that looked very well for her age. She obviously enjoyed her day out and she moved with enthusiasm and I enjoyed going over her. Thank you for completing my pleasant damp day. I hope that you all had a safe journey home.
