A pleasure to judge this spirited variety of Dachshunds in the lovely setting of The Malverns. The elements allowed them to be judged outside on grass allowing the true movers to really cover the ground. My winners pleased me immensely with the CC winners coming from opposite ends of the age scale. DCC and BPIB going to a precocious young dog ENEM SOLAR PWER and the BCC and BOB going to CH DRAKELEAT TOO GUD TO BE TRUE – not just ‘GUD’ BUT a great fully mature bitch – delighted to award the CC’s to these 2 lovely examples.

1.Enem Solar Power – Mrs M Dance – What a way to start the day!!! – I felt this young man was special and when it came to the challenge – I had not changed my mind. Superb head, lovely body – clean shoulders, strong rear which he used so well.   DCC   BPIB

PUPPY DOG.   4     0

1.Foxearth Fly By Night- Mr T Crossman and Mrs A Kennedy. Very attractive B/T pup of good size and correct proportions. Good head on a long neck, kept an excellent topline on the move – good angles fore and aft with well-built stifles.

2.Alncroft All Round Lokmadi – Mrs Y Kent. Good honest dog – if from a somewhat larger mould. Well developed front – good length of bone and excellent harsh coat – moved out well

3.Jamesfair One Moment in Tyme – Mrs L M and Mr A R James

1.Drakesleat Gud to Go – Mrs Z Thorn Andrews. Dark young dog, lovely length of neck and looked a picture free stood. Good harsh coat with excellent ribbing – moved well.

2.Beetlejuice Vitoraz at Helydon (imp Cze) Mr G Kirkwood. Rangy red dog who needs more time to develop in his front. Narrow in front movement that 1, covered the ground well due to size.

1.Foxearth Al Fresco – Mrs B Glue. Red dog – spot on for size, excellent harsh coat with superb pigmentation – sadly this young man refused to co-operate with his handler preferring to run on the move.

1.Stargang Pot of Gold at Ridanflight – Mr S Rose and Mrs E P Blackburn. Another elegant red dog headed this class – super pigment again. Strong masculine head with good reach of neck, clean on the shoulders. Good length of body with keel well back. Stylish powerful mover.

2.Foxearth Al Fresco – Mrs B Glue. 1st in the previous class – nice dog just unwilling to show for his handler..

3.Birichino Barley of Robinswood – Mrs I M Phillips.

Limit Dog.  3

1.Ravensbeech Buccleugh – Mrs J E Pain. Excellent young dog – he has it all…super harsh jacket, good bone and ribbing. Excellent sweep of keel – sadly just didn’t give his best today.

2.Alncroft Ivan Inkling – Mrs K, Miss J and Miss A Smith. Very smart male, excellent front and bone – just tends to cut up. Holds a good topline on the move – expertly handled to bring the best out of him.

3.Pennywave Percy at Granhoward – Mrs P Grant.

1.CH Drakesleat Kumquat May – Mrs Z Thorn Andrews & Lady L Billingshurst. Lovely young dog – good mouth and strong underjaw. Strong head and neck- ribs carried well back with a super harsh jacket.    RCC

2.Helydon Laird Loki JW- Mrs D, Miss A Kirkwood-Emery. Attractive red dog – not the fit in front or the length of rib of the winner. Nice neat hocks and good free mover.

1.Tythe Fred Flintstone – Mrs A K Mills. Attractively marked S/Dapple with a good wire jacket. Unsettled on the table – but gave him time after moving and he was more composed. Moved with ease.

1.Blackvein Rambler at Janacop – Mrs J Kilroy. Smart bitch puppy – full of joy. Excellent character and perfect size – well balanced. Lovely to go over clean neck and shoulders, well ribbed with a good tail set – good mover…a True show girl..    BPB

2.Helydon Radiant Rivva – Mrs d, Miss A, Miss A Kirkwood-Emery. Pretty bitch of smaller type – not so happy with proceedings but as the class progressed her confidence grew. A real little beaty – as time passes and confidence grows…Im sure her time will come.

3.Hivilit Gemma Egregia at Stardax – Mrs P Davies.

PUPPY BITCH   8  (0)

1.As Minor Puppy Bitch

2.Alncroft Ida Zire – Mrs K, Miss J & Miss A Smith. Another lovely young bitch. Good front – presented a balanced picture on the table. Sweeping keel, good topline – showed well.

3.California Love – Miss T Hemmings.

1.Drakesleat Gud as Gold – Mrs Z Thorn Andrews. Excellent type – no short bones….a real hound. Good ground clearance, free and easy mover. Harsh jacket – just my type…will follow her progress.    RCC

2.Enem Summer Sunshine for Ermewood – Mrs P Rees. Smaller type, very flashy young lady. Super front with an excellent jacket. Very tidy all round – just not the scope of the winner.

3.Fallowmill Miss Range Rover – Mrs J Howells

YEARLING BITCH    5    (2)

1.Janter Cloves – Mr T Crossman & Mrs A Kennedy. Harsh jacketed bitch, fabuous size with deep keel, good bone and width which sadly is lacking today in so many... lovely chunky feet.

2.Archiedax Hocus Pocus – Mrs West. Elegant red – good neck with good sweep of keel, just preferred the bone and topline of the winner.

3.Whiteorchard Tiggy Winkle of Milkwood – Miss R and Mrs D Peek & Peek-mater.

1.Middleton Hunt at Oniasid – Mrs A K Mills. Another lovely red – good head, neck and front. A real honest type. Best ribs in the class!. Held her topline going over the ground with a nicely rounded rear.

2.Olivia Belle for Merryline- Mrs A, Miss L Merry & Selby. Excellent headed bitch with swan like neck. Very attractive dark coat – didn’t move with the verve of the winner.

LIMIT BITCH    8  (2)

1.Stargand Sapphire and Steel – Mrs E P Blackburn. Very attractive silver dapple bitch. Excellent front, sweep of keel with ribbing carried well back. Covered the ground well with a well let down rear, neat hocks with plenty of bone and substance.

2.Ona Meli for Merryline – Mrs A, Miss L & Mr D Merry, Selby and Vranch. Elegant bitch, super head, clean over the shoulders. Not as developed in the front or as settled at 1st place.

3.Archidax Dark Phoenix- Mrs West.

1.CH Drakesleat Too Gud to be True – Mrs Z Thorne Andrews. WOW…..the complete package!.

Not overdone or exaggerated in any way – don’t have to be over tall to cover the ground if they are made right….    BCC and BOB

2.Stargang Witches Shadow – Mrs E P Blackburn. Lovely headed red bitch – deep sweeping keel, excellend underline and topline – just couldn’t match the winner on the move.

3.Foxearth Run for Fun to Kaytian – Mrs J & Miss J Kay.
