Ladies Kennel Ass 2024 Miniature Wire Haired

Thank you to the committee of the LKA for inviting me to judge the miniature wire haired dachshunds, the very efficient ring stewards who kept everything running smoothly and obviously a big thank you to all the exhibitors who entered your dogs for me to go over. It was really pleasing to see all my top winning exhibits displaying excellent temperaments, cooperating beautifully with their handlers and showing that they were enjoying their day.

1st: 1822 PRICE, Mrs Nora Collidach Thomas Tank

Lovely boy with good clear lines, keeping his outline both on the stance and the move. At only 8 months old he is mature for his age, showing like he’s been doing it for years. One to keep an eye on for the future. BPIB.

2nd: 1818 MILLS- JONES, Mrs C Bimini Moonrise

Nice boy, who didn’t like the noisy hall. Good head and eye, and nice overall shape, moved well.

Good head with sweet expression. Wasn’t settled today.

Solid male with good overall shape and structure. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders, kept a level topline both on the stance and move, walked freely round the ring.

2nd: 1807 KIRKWOOD, Mr G Beetlejuice Vitoraz At Helydon (Cze Imp)

Lovely head and correct eye, with good bone and substance. Just felt 1 had a better overall share on the move.

Wow can this boy move! He showed his ring presence from the second he stepped in. Lovely head with almond eye, good reach of neck into well placed shoulder with correct proportions all through. Powerful hind quarters which allowed his free-flowing movement – looked a picture on the stance. CC.

Another lovely boy – nice size, lovely head, reach of neck with correct fore and rear angulations, keeping a level topline both on the stance and move. Moved freely. RCC.

Already seen this boy in the puppy class where he had met some strong competition. Nice boy who is in excellent condition, keeps a level topline on the stance and although he moves round the ring well, just lost his topline slightly on the move.

7 years old and not showing his age at all. In excellent condition, lovely head and expression. All in proportion, looked lovely on the stance. Moved round the ring like a youngster.

2nd: 1782 BRUTY, Mrs Geraldene Jantar Red Horses Imp Polland

Another nice veteran, 8 years old who looks well for his age. Moved well for his handler.

Another lovely puppy in excellent condition. Good head, correct front and looked good on the stance. Moved well. Just preferred the overall type of 1.

Really liked this girl, lovely coat and colour. Nice size, all in proportion with good bone and nice chunky feet. Correct in fore and hind quarters, with good reach of neck and clean outline. Moved with drive.

2nd: 1814 MARSTON TEAL, Mrs Sonia Lordscairnie Peaceful. Love

Smaller in type than one. Nice overall shape and moved well.

Another very nice girl with good head, coat and condition. Correct angulations at both front and rear. Moved freely round the ring.

The superstar of the day! All in proportion, lovely head and eye into well placed shoulders, with prominent forechest, ribbing well back with clear outlines into correct hind quarters. Kept a level topline at all times. Accelerated round the ring. CC and BOB. I was thrilled to hear that it was her crowning CC, a very worthy champion.
