Thanks to the Officers and Committee for their hospitality.  It was a nicely run show with well set out rings.   Sadly the weather which was at the end of ‘Storm Bert’ had an affect upon the entries as there were quite a few absentees but some quite nice dogs ended up for BIS.

I awarded Best in Show to Dance’s Miniature W/H….EMEM HAZEL SUNSHINE JW.  This lovely little bitch just oozes quality and thoroughly enjoys her time in the show ring, I don’t think she needs a handler, she just takes off !   She has a beautiful head with dark expressive eyes, her neck flows into well placed shoulders and a sound front assembly, ribbing is carried well back with a firm backline and strong quarters.  She moved parallel fore & aft maintaining a balanced outline, her lovely harsh coat was perfectly presented.
Reserve Best in Show was Hutchings’ W/H….CH. COLLIDACH BROOK LING ShCEx. Liked this stylish girl for her lovely driving movement, she has a typical head of good proportions, perfectly balanced outline with good length and depth of body and an excellent ribcage, well turned stifles, low hocks, she maintained her balance on the move and showed her socks off.
I awarded Best Puppy in show to Ham’s Miniature L/H……CISELSIG HEY THERE DELILAH.  Pretty little baby with a lovely outline, beautifully presented with a shiny red coat, good head shape, neat front with tight elbows, firm topline with good body proportions, well bent stifles, she moved out well, in super condition.
Reserve Best Puppy in Show was Dance’s Miniature W/H……EMEM JOYFUL SUNSHINE. Half sister to my BIS winner and many of the same remarks apply, she has a lovely head & expression, sound neat forehand, well ribbed with sufficient depth & length of back, she carries herself beautifully and shows well, super temperament, very promising baby.
Best Veteran in Show was Hutchings’ W/H…..TENDROW I AM THE ONE FROM COLLIDACH JW.  Super bitch of 8 years old and I think she could still give many younger bitches a run for their money!  She has a beautiful head of correct proportions, good neck length & sound front assembly, strong backline with ribbing carried back, well turned stifles, she moved true & maintained her lovely outline.
Reserve Best Veteran in Show was Sainsbury’s Miniature L/H……RIDGEGROVE CONSTANCE AT BOSCOLLA.  This dear old girl was 13 years old,   In superb coat and condition for her age with very good dentition, she is nicely put together with a lovely head & gentle expression, a great credit to her owner.

Judge……..SUE ERGIS.

I would firstly like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge miniatures, and to thank the exhibitors who braved the atrocious weather to bring their dogs under me, it was very much appreciated. Type varied quite a bit, but temperaments were good, and I only found one suspect mouth.

J (2,1) 1 Partridge, Pettigans Viva La Vida By Riveroyal 14 month old shaded red bitch. She has the very best of heads, dark pigment, a lovely romany nose with enough stop. Well laid shoulder with a tight elbow. She has nice overall balance and carried herself well on the move, reaching and driving with no exaggeration. She has enough ground clearance with a smooth underline well ribbed back. She had well-trimmed feet showing off correct arch and fullness, and nice short nails. She showed good width in rear movement and parallel. She has a lovely demeanour. L (3,2) 1 Sainsbury, Drymoor Marron Glace At Boscolla 2 year old dark shaded red in lovely condition. Another beautiful head with a strong jaw and dark almond shaped eye. Nice length of skull and muzzle proportions. Straight and flat coat with good feathering. Pleasing shoulder construction. Stood true on her broad and tight feet. Sweeping topline from neck to tail, with a correct tail set. Nice balance overall, a great mover who kept her lovely strong top and underline on the move. BOB. OD (3,1) 1 Fricker, Sundayshill Theodore At Borzdac. Liked both these boys. Shaded red mature dog of 2 years, on the larger side with a lot of substance and bone. Strong muzzle, I liked his well filled front with deep depressions. He has good balance and held his topline well, with enough ground clearance and he moved parallel and with confidence. A tad sluggish on his individual but strode out well together with the class to win the class. RBOB. 2 Rees, Sundayshill Blackberry. 5 year old black and tan, another lovely lad, I liked his head qualities, he also has a very good wraparound front with prominent breastbone. He was slightly more narrower all through. More heavily coated but could feel under the coat for pleasing angulation and ground clearance. He moved positively with drive.

Baby P (3,2) 1 Sandell, Wanderhund Grand Illusion. Promising youngster of just 4 months old with a gleaming red coat. Lovely temperament starting to show his ring confidence, working well with his handler. Nice head for his age with a lovely ear set and shape. Dark almond shape eye and dark pigment. Strong arched neck flowing into his topline which he held well on stack and move. Elbows well tucked and enough body width for a young age. Neat arched feet, good amount of bone throughout and building muscle in the right places. He self-stacked lovely at the end of his walk. P (1) 1 Parker, Luckytails Skye At Zorionadax 7 month black and tan bitch. Dark almond eye, longer foreface with a prominent stop, good jaw with well fitted lips, nice pigment and rich tan markings. Ears low set and rather large. Prominent front with a moderate width through, she could do with a bit more sternum. Would prefer a more balanced shoulder with a longer upper arm which would give less of a high stepping movement. She had plenty of ground clearance and was nicely compact in body. Coat was gleaming and nails lovely and short and she was well muscled. BPIB.
J (4) 1 Ashby, Rayol Pumpkin Pie At Jaxinorydax, shaded red bitch of 16m. She had the best overall construction in this class. A pleasing head all through and correct ear set. Well off for bone, has a prominent forechest maybe a tad too much, and would prefer a much longer sternum to complete her underline. Moved around the ring well with parallel front action. 2 Hinwood, Longmel Courvoisier Truffle larger 22m old red dog with a lot to like. Strong masculine head, long neck into good shoulder layback. Prominent breast bone. He had the better ribbing but was over long in loin and a tad overangulated but stood well on all fours. Seemed a bit aloof today, but moved around the ring ok. Y (2) 1 Rycroft, Chidax Sahara Sand By Trisensara. Feminine 12m shaded red bitch. A lovely proportioned and shaped head with dark eye and pigment, well placed ears, broad and rounded. She has good front angulation, well filled oval thorax smoothly leading into her ample keel, good ribbing and length of loin. She held a good topline and has correct rise over loin leading into a correct tail set. She has plenty of bone and stood strong on all fours with good amount of ground clearance. She moved positively and with confidence. 2 Ashby, Rayol Dallas Cowboys At Jaxinorydax. 16m shaded red dog. Masculine strong head qualities, he had pleasing front construction but not the rear action to match as he was tending to tummy tap. He had plenty of ground clearance. He had a lovely temperament but was being a bit silly for his handler today.
PG (4) 1 Hinwood, Longmel Cococabana. Smaller sized 3yr black and tan bitch. She won on her overall sounder construction and movement. Her profile is flowing and balanced, not overdone in any way and I liked her size. She had a dark almond eye and nice tan markings. A good ear set and shape. Graceful neck leading into a firm topline and correct tail set. Well ribbed back into a short strong loin. She does not need to be over stacked as she was, as her rear construction is correct and this showed in her free flowing movement. 2 Rycroft, Fantastic Frank At Trisensara. 2yr shaded red dog. He has a masculine head with well set ears, and a keen dark almond eye. Dark pigment and a rich gleaming coat. A more moderate neck, his topline is firm and sweeps back nicely. Plenty of ground clearance. Parallel front action albeit a bit high on movement, would prefer more width behind. L (4,1) 1 Hinwood, Adnerb Sheer Nanagins At Longmel. 4yr black and tan dog. Masculine with enough bone and a nice sized dog. Good head qualities, strong jaw and well fitted lips. Dark eye and good pigment and markings, coat in nice condition. He had enough neck leading into a firm topline and correct tail set. Viewed from the front his shape was pleasing, well filled thorax and well-fitting legs. Good width through and spring of rib. He stood on strong legs with no exaggeration to his angulation, again don’t overstretch him as it could spoil his good outline. He showed good ground clearance and moved around the ring with ease. RBOB.  2 Hocking, Longmel Caprice Truffle. 3yr shaded red bitch larger and longer cast. She had a very nice head, good proportions and a well set ear and shape. Strong arched neck leading into a smooth topline and a sloping croup. Prominent forechest with deep depressions. Would prefer a better shoulder placement and tighter fitting elbows which would give better overall movement around the ring. He had strong bone throughout, nice arched feet with thick pads. Lovely coat and pliant muscle. OD (2) 1 Rycroft, Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah At Trisensara JW 2yr black and tan dog of a nice size. In excellent condition with a gleaming coat and good muscle tone. I loved his head shape, conical and sloping into an arched muzzle with a good bite. Front construction was pleasing, as was his hind construction, he has a very balanced body which is compact with a strong loin, and good ground clearance ratio. I would prefer more arched front feet to complete the picture. He stacks a dream, and his movement was spot on, showing enough width, and drove around the ring correctly. Lovely temperament and carried himself proudly, pleased to award him BOB today. 2 Macdonald, Don Pedro Li Das Terras Do Cannis Lupus 6y chocolate based red dog. Happy little chap who got into his groove as he moved through his classes. Very compact with very moderate angulation and lots of ground clearance. He had a sweet head with nice ear set. Well arched feet and good muscle tone.

Baby P (1) 1 Harvey, Skyswift Mystic Way. Lovely 6 month old wild boar dog. Nice happy temperament and a good coat. Pleasing overall shape already for his age, with good amount of bone. Shapely front and rear construction coming along nicely. Correct tail set with width in the rear with parallel action. P (4,1) 1 Parker, Vixendax You And Me At Zorionadax 11m wild boar bitch who greeted me with a happy wag. I liked her head and eye shape. She has enough fill in thorax, with a balanced front construction. Smooth outline and good ground clearance. Rise over the loin into a good tail set. Great coat and furnishings with neat shaped feet. This was a close call but I felt this bitch had a stronger rear action. BPIB. 2 Ellis, Vixendax Make Me A Winner litter sister to 1, another good wild boar coat and another great temperament. Preferred her head qualities. Strong neck and firm topline which she held well on the move. She has a lovely outline in profile, and her front construction is sound.  J (4,1) 1 Moore & Downes, Romanchi Night At The Opera. Rather stocky wild boar bitch of 12m. She has a really pleasing shapely outline in profile. Strong head, leading into a long muscular neck and harmonious withers, correct rise over loin. Shoulder construction was correct and she moved parallel with reach, graceful underline and well ribbed back. I felt her rear was a bit exaggerated causing a toeing in movement but she won on overall breed qualities throughout. 2 Hayes, Ottnott Doreen Martha 13m wild boar bitch of smaller size. She was a happy girl. Would prefer a harsher topcoat. Nice head and ear set, strong jaw. I felt her upper arm was a tad short but she did move well enough with reach and drive covering the ground with ease, she went just as well in all her classes. Y (2) 1 Pughe & Fraser, Stanegate Stefan At Bystock 20m wild boar. Lovely male who held an aura of sophistication and confidence. Tight coat with harsh furnishings. He has a strong jaw, moderate neck. Flowing topline and underline and stands foursquare on strong feet. I preferred his rear construction to his front. Not overangulated and showing strong parallel action fore and aft. 2 Hayes, Ottnott Doreen Martha.
PG (3,2) 1 Hayes, Ottnott Doreen Martha. L (3,1) 1 Pughe & Fraser, Bystock Blue Orchid. Almost 2yr wild boar bitch of a good size. She has a balanced skull with almond shape eye and a graceful neck, leading into a good topline which she held well on the move, correct tail set. Sweeping keel and well ribbed back. Harsh coat. Moderate front angulation and equally pleasing rear construction. She strode out well, pleased to award her RBOB. 2 Russell, Collidach Russell Leeves larger 2yr wild boar. Lovely masculine head with prominent brow bone and dark eye. His profile outline is impressive, and when viewed from the front he has a well filled thorax and well fitting forearm with strong bone. Good coat and well-muscled. I felt he didn’t move as positively as 1 today. OD (1) 1 Hutchings & Price, Collidach Percy Cute At Samlane 4yr wild boar, larger type. Really friendly and confident demeanour. Strong bone, correct shaped feet standing equally. Stacked in profile he looked a picture, enough neck leading into a sound topline, I would prefer a longer ribbing to shorten the loin. He is on the lower side, although he moved around the ring well covering the ground with ease. OB (3) 1 Hutchings, Ch Collidach Brook Ling ShCEx 4yr red bitch oozing with confidence. She is in great fit shape today. Well filled front with correct fitting forelegs, Her stacked profile was stunning with lovely balance all through and correct fitting angulation fore and aft with no exaggeration. She really reached and drove making good use of her full rump muscle. Pleased to award BOB and later she was awarded RBIS, congratulations
. 2 Moore & Dean, Brontillow Canterbury Bell To Dierfiur 19m wild boar bitch who was a hot contender today. She could stack to perfection. Her head qualities were pleasing with good proportions, ears set on high and alert and a nice shape. Correct angulation fore and aft, a tight elbow and wraparound front. Coat correct and in excellent condition. Well-muscled but lacked a bit more drive today to push for the RBOB. V (1) 1 Hutchings, Tendrow I Am The One From Collidach JW 8yr wild boar bitch who really gave the youngsters a run for their money. Head shape was good, tapering into a strong muzzle and a correct ear set and shape. Prominent breastbone with depressions, full thorax with a tight fitting front construction and correct shoulder placement. Rear construction was equally pleasing, she moved parallel enough and moved around the ring with ease and flow. Pleased to award BVIB and congratulations on her BVIS.
