Dachshund ( Long Haired)

Judge : Lesley Patton

AV V (10) 1 Atkins’ Ch Kantis Krepe Suzette, 11 years shaded red l/h, beautiful elegant bitch of the correct size, correct coat, excellent head, mouth, eye, front, feet, ribbing, loin, well balanced, to be extra critical would like a little more hind drive, but at 11 years old who cares, would say she is unbeatable, stood well away from rest of class, loved her, and obviously well cared for as only one of 2 in class with clean teeth, a credit to her owners 2 Prices’ Samlane Xanthe, 8 years brindle m/w, well balanced, correct sized, sound, good coated b, moving well with excellent ribbing 3 Kerry’s Kireton Camilla, 8 years b/t s/h, lovely size.

Brace (4) Two very well matched long haired braces, I had to split hairs, 1 Phillips’ m/l b/t,so well matched standing and on the move, matched right down to tail carriage 2 Plevin’s l/h b/t, very nice pair but not quite so even and not as well matched on the move. AV Standard P (7) 1 Newport’s Merrygarth Greve D’Azette, red l/h bitch, correct size (if a little o/w), lovely head, expression, coat, front, feet, good underline, good ribbing and coupling, correctly pigmented, very sound 2 Plevin’s Morali Caol Ila, red l/h bitch, a shade bigger and longer in loin, too deep in rib cage which affected her underline, a little narrow all through, though has time to mature AV Miniature

P (5) 1 Moate’s Dianamo Magnum, dark brindle m/w dog, very hard coat, a little long in loin and short in ear, easy to see, but everything else is there, a real dachshund in miniature, good ribbing, good feet, pleasing front and rear angulation, excellent mover, so sound behind, what you see on the table is what you get on the ground 2 Brace’s Ralines Sunny Delight with Xemxija, shaded cream m/l dog, lacked in front angulation but otherwise a lovely puppy, again very sound, small class but a close decision

AV (8) 1 Mitchell’s Darsoms Zophisticate of Bronia, red l/h bitch, loved her, pleasing size, gorgeous front and underline, head, eye, ribbing, short loin, lovely shape on table held on move, very promising would not change anything at this stage, well deserved this win 2 Seidenbusch & Schulze’s Loretto Prince of Spades to Doubledax, b/t m/w dog, lacked front of winner but a very sound honest little dog with a good coat and purposeful movement, level topline and good ribbing.

O (7) 1 Seidenbusch & Schulze’s Larklinns Ruby Tuesday at Doubledax, br m/w bitch, very sound bitch, held her shape well on the move, good head and ribbing, good feet, sound and active. 2 Phillips Rossglen Tutti Frutti with Rossdach, br m/l bitch, failed in head, angulation and feet to above, but lovely coat and temperament
