LONG HAIRED

It is nine years since I last judged this variety of Dachshunds, so all dogs were new to me. I was pleased with this high quality entry.

PD (2) 1 Burke & Manston’s Bonavoir Solomans Seal; 2 Dare’s Darsoms Zupremo, both promising puppies, 1 is a glamorous clear red with good head carriage, firm outline, is more together on the go around; 2 has better width through the front, good bone. Has yet to drop into himself & is not sure what is expected of him, was reluctant on the go round. JD (4,1a) 1 Negus’ Tarramist Adonis Dream, strikingly attractive b/t, great head carriage & style in abundance, very attractive head, eye & expression, good bone, firm body & lengthy ribbing, moved out with great freedom, coat & presentation was spot on; 2 Halsall’s Brynalyn Count The Dream for Kiddles, attractive s/r out of smaller mould, none the worse for that, liked his forechest & width through the front. Could not match the elegance of 1; 3 McLennan’s Bronia Firecracker at Cheguevar. YD (3) 1 Johnson’s Bronia Prime Design at Africandawns, very glamorous red, excelled in head & outline, lovely front, good bone & feet, moved out really well; 2 Chapman’s Marshwick Moonlight Dream via Melminds, b/t, firm outline, carried himself well. Could not match the head or glamour of 1; 3 McLellan’s Bronia Firecracker at Cheguevar. PGD (4) 1 Milne’s Swansfor Paprikador, liked the way this clear red carried himself, moved out well with firm outline, liked his forechest angulation & ribbing, good bone & feet, well presented. Could perhaps have a little more refinement in his skull; 2 Fossett’s Melminds Method In Madness, shaded red with much more pleasing head than 1. Did not have the shoulder placement of 1, & appeared to have almost too much length in body. In good coat; 3 Chapman’s Melminds Monteray Jack. LD (6) 1 Dare’s Bronia Classic Cool at Darsoms, s/r who excelled in construction, well filled front, super bone & feet, good ribbing. Moved OK but still needs to get it together to progress; 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Incantation, elegant smaller & lighter framed boy, in good body condition. Close up to 1 but could not match front of 1; 3 Crosse & Burke’s Loggeta Black Velvet. OD (7) 1 CC & BOB, Metcalfe’s Ch Metadale Macquarie, fully mature shaded red of the highest quality who has a certain style & deportment that cannot be overlooked, excellent construction, prominent pro sternum, well filled oval thorax, well laid back shoulders & return of upper arm, placing the forelegs well under the body, ample bone & well bunched thickly padded round feet, good keel & underline, ribbing carried well back, broad well angulated hindquarter enabled him to power around the ring. Crowning glory was his super flat coat; 2 RCC, Geeson’s Ch Abydachs Oh What A Night, very elegant shaded red of pleasing size, has the most attractive head, which I actually preferred to 1, has style in abundance, well angulated, forehand & hindquarters in balance, ribbing carried well back. Lost out to 1’s copybook front construction. Was close up to 1; 3 Mitchell’s Ch Bronia Patriarch.

PB (4,1) 1 BP & RCC, Mitchell’s Bronia Devil Woman, top quality shaded red just under 12 months, of ideal size, construction cannot be faulted, excellent front, carries herself so well, with excellent head carriage & sound free movement. In her underwear, when she gets her full coat will sail to her title; 2 Duchesne’s Bonavoir Golden Maze by Scandell, 9 months clear red who pleased in outline, attractive head& eye. Not sure yet what is expected of her, was a little reluctant on the move; 3 Smith’s Xsara Hell’s Angel. JB (4,2) 1 Dare’s Loxbar Rubi Muri Darsoms, very taken with this b/t, super outline, of lovely size, good front & ribbing, moved out smartly with verve, & had beautiful flat coat; 2 Clarke’s Bokra Extravagance with Tekalhaus, more mature s/r with lovely head, eye & expression, in glorious coat. Could not match the outline of 1. YB (4,1) 1 Johnson’s Bronia Design Flair at Africandawns, classy s/r litter sister to YD winner, what a lovely litter, has a lovely head & expression, super head carriage, lengthy neck & excelled in top & underline, good bone & feet, moved out really well, must have a promising future; 2 Dimon’s Laraine Diamond Lassie for Dimerlin, lovely s/r with a super head, well put together & went really well. Out of coat; 3 Clarke’s Bokra Extravagance with Tekalhaus. PGB (3) 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Classy Chassis at Imirika, lengthy s/r, attractive head, good construction, carried herself really well, with good outline & head carriage, moved out freely; 2 Metcalfe’s Metadale Majorette, smaller s/r, lovely outline, good front with prominent pro sterneum. Moved a bit wide in front; 3 Dimon’s Laraine Truly Faye for Dimerlin. LB (8) 1 Cook & Rhodes’ Bourder Royal Sapphire; 2 Geeson’s Abydachs Intrigue, both lovely b/t bitches with little to separate them, 1 has that touch more elegance with lovely head carriage & smooth flowing outline, 2 is a smaller size which I prefer, with well made firm body & good ribbing, well off for bone & good feet; 3 Lawrence’s Peverleigh Polly Rose. OB (5,1) 1 CC, McFaul’s Ch/Ir Ch Dachville Perfect Blend, classy b/t, such style & deportment, loved her head & expression, super outline, lengthy neck into well laid shoulders & good well filled front, carried herself so well, her flat glossy coat is superb. Just lost out to the dog’s fabulous front; 2 Johnson’s Brynalyn Bitter Sweet at Africandawns, very lovely s/r who excelled in outline, attractive head, good front, super bone & feet, good ribbing, went freely. Could not match the style & deportment of 1; 3 Oxley’s Ir Ch Owlery Czarina.
