Many thanks to the exhibitors for their entries and for my 2 excellent stewards. It was lovely to judge at this well laid out show at this super showground. Numerically it was a decent entry for a week day. I was very pleased with my principle winners but some general comments about the breed that I saw today, some mouth and tail faults which I’d not seen for a long time and a general lack of good ribbing and correct length of upper arm.

1. Trixhund Ten from Len (Mr D M Lewis) – 10 month silver dapple with a beautiful head, good length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders, good bone and feet. Would prefer more length to ribbing and slightly more angulation behind but moved soundly with good profile movement. Presented in excellent condition and a good size.

1. Dachyclan Lochlan at Bronia (Imp Aus) (Mrs F Hanney-Mitchell) – 14 month old shaded red male who was out of coat today but nothing to hide, excellent head with correct eye and good length of neck. Well laid shoulder but could use a longer upper arm. Good bone and feet. Would prefer more length to ribbing. Balanced rear which he uses well on the move where he is true coming and going and has good reach and drive.

1. Kindeace Hit The Road Jack (Mr K S & Mrs Sm Paskins) – 13 month shaded red dog with a strong head, good lay back of shoulder but needs a longer upper arm. Ribbing could be longer. Balanced rear which he used to move soundly with good reach and drive.
2. Breezelyn Long Way to Go to Loggeta (Mr L J Cross) – Elegant red with a good head and excellent length of neck, well laid-back shoulder, rather long in body for me, balanced rear. Moved soundly.
3. Dolan Tears of A Clown (Mr M Wedge)

1. Gainscroft Dashing Dudley (Miss S L Vincent) – Shaded red in excellent coat and condition and a super size. His head is a touch plain but conical and good eye shape, good length of neck leading into well angulated shoulders with good upper arm, good length of ribbing. Well angulated rear. Moved soundly with decent reach and drive in profile, just didn’t put much effort in on the move which was a shame.
2. Dolan Dock of The Bay (Mr M Wedge) – 5yr old shaded red with a good head and length of neck leading into good shoulders. Balanced hind angulation. Somewhat narrow all through and could have carried a little more weight to advantage. Moved soundly.

1. Ch Swansford Gabrieldor (Mr D Roberts) – It is no secret that I really admire this beautiful male and I was delighted to be able to judge him today, 5 yr old and in his prime with the most beautiful dark shaded red coat. He has a very attractive head with melting expression, strong jaws, excellent length of neck leading into super shoulders, well ribbed back, short strong loin, excellent rear. Moves so soundly with plenty of reach and drive and clearly loves every minute of being in the ring. CC & BOB
