I would like to thank the committee for this invitation to judge and also for their hospitality. Many thanks also to all the exhibitors for a super entry. The overall quality of exhibits were good, but not outstanding. The main cause for concern in my opinion, were exhibits being overweight, especially in bitches. Many with very feminine heads with loaded weight on the shoulders and bodies, making it very difficult to see in some cases where the ribcage ended. Thus totally overshadowing quality and movement. This cost a lot of exhibitors on the day dearly in their placings. With the cost of entries as high as they are these days, surely it is in out interest to present out exhibits in tip top condition. So as not to spoil our chances of winning. Having said that, I was pleased with my principle winners, and elated that I managed to give both my CC winners their crowns on the day.

PD. (6). 1. McNaughton’s, Cedavoch High Treason. 9 months old chocolate. Masculine head. Oblique eye. Good reach of neck, clean cut leading into well placed shoulders. Trunk well ribbed, short loin, tail carried correctly. Moved well covering the ground. RCC and BP. Will watch his progress with interest. 2. Melbourne’s, Sunhaze St John of Melriding. 10 months old red. Well balanced of correct size. Nice head oblique eyes. Good ribbing and undercarriage, nicely let down quarters. Short hocks. Moved well. 3. Hunt’s, D’Arisca Class Distinction at Carpaccio.

JD. (3). Not a strong class. 1. Girvin’s, Marictur Mansfield. 14 months old b/t. Lovely head and eye, good prosternum, keel and ribbing. Quarters good with short hocks. Moved well. Did not do himself any favours very nervy. 2. Quiske’s, Notable Exception. 9 months old b/t. Still only a baby, needs time to muscle up and mature.

SpBEGIN (1). 1. Dent’s, Phaeland Szar Dachsein. 2 years old red. Stood alone. This exhibit unfortunately was grossly overweight and made it difficult to make a judgement. Also very nervy.

PGD. (2). 1. Wolage’s, Matzell Mortiz. 2 years old red. Well balanced of correct size. Good head carriage and reach of neck. Shoulder good but a little short in upper arm. Good ribbing and quarters. Moved out well. 3. Dent’s, Phaeland Szar Dachsein.

LD. (7). 1. Norris’s, Criscan Finagle. 2 year and 10 months old b/t. Lovely outline standing. Head a little broad in skull. Good prosternum and ribbing. Nicely let down quarters. Covering the ground well. 2. Rawson’s, Twyhill Forcful Freddy for Finagle. 2 years old chocolate. Very nicely put together boy. Well balanced. Lovely head and oblique eye, good expression. Well barrelled forechest and correct ribbing. Nicely let down quarters covered the ground, but rather narrow through. 3. Cocker’s, Daxmuir Flash Harry for Bonnerhill.

OD. (8). 1. Norton’s, Matzell Mateus. 20 months old red. Lots to like about him. Super ring presence. Beautifully balanced of correct size. Pleasing head and oblique dark eye. Good reach of neck leading into super shoulders. Well barrelled ribbing, nice underline, not to low and well let down quarters with nice short hocks. Moved with verve covering the ground well. Topline kept at all timesd to complete the picture. CC. 2. McNaughton’s, Aust Ch. Nicholyev the Hobbit (Imp). 22 months old red. Quality dog larger taller type than first. Super strong head and eye. Long muscular neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good length of ribbing with super quarters. Moved well, I’m sure he will have his day in the future. 3. Davies’s, Ch. Undeg Elenius.

SpV. (4). 1. Turner’s, Ch. Maricutur Marinie. 7 years old b/t bitch. A worthy Champion of correct size. Very feminine head. Nicely constructed front and shoulders. Correct ribbing. Well let down quarters. Moved well. Certainly did not look her age. 2. Norton’s, Ch. Matzell Majestic. 7 years old dog still a very handsome boy for his years. I could see a lot of his sire in him. (Young Yardley he was a favourite of mine). Lovely head and eye, strong neck leading into good shoulders. Good length of ribbing with nice short loin. Good quarters and short hocks. Moved well. Not a lot to choose between first and second for quality. 3. Cotton’s, Marictur Morrison.

PB. (6). 1. Hunt’s, Carpaccio Tanzanite. 8 months old b/t. Quality puppy, oozing with confidence and ring presence. Very feminine. Well balanced baby, lots to like about her. Super movement clearing the ground as she moved. Just needs time to tighten behind. Must have a promising future. 2. Furber’s, Dorysa Dyddanwy. 9 months old b/t. Lovely head and eye. Good reach of neck and nice front. Good keel, well ribbed, nicely let down quarters. Good top and underline for a baby. Promising future I’m sure. 3. McNaughton’s, Cedavoch Integrity.

JB. (4). 1. Lashbrook’s, Rosanport Play me at Milfer. 1 year old b/t, very feminine quality bitch of correct size. Lovely head and eye. Good reach of neck leading into good shoulders and front assembly. Good ribbing. Short loin, nicely let down quarters. Moved well. 2. Kerry’s, Kireton Besty Belle. 14 months old red. Same attributes apply as to first. Just preferred overall balance and movement of first. 3. Guad’s, Rosanport Cracklin Rosie.

SpBEGIN. (2). 1. Mitchell and Magrath’s, No Name Given. 2 year old b/t. Feminine bitch but attributes and quality overshadowed by being overweight and very nervous. 2. Dunne’s, Sydunne Lamias Dior.

PGB. (10). 1. Kerry’s, Rosenport September Morn at Kireton. 12 months old b/t of correct size and type. Nicely proportioned in all respects with good follow through on the move. 2. Hitchen’s, Ashihna Fiamma at Cloudside. 22 months old red, a lovely bitch. Good head and eye. Well proportioned but sadly lost out to first by carrying excess weight. Such a pity. 3. Rawson’s, Rosenket a Star is Born.

LB. (6). 1. Turner’s, Meganhol Apocalypse Now Rafthouse. 2 years old b/t, very feminine classy lady. Presented in superb condition. Feminine head with oblique eye. Muscular clean cut neck leading into well placed shoulders. Super front assembly with good length of ribbing and keel. Nice short loin, strong rear well let down quarters, short hocks. Good tail carriage, good follow through on the move, covering the ground well. Topline kept at all times to complete the picture. CC and BOB. Her third and her Crown I understand. Pleased to see her in the final line up for HIS. 2. Dalgety’s, Thundergay at a Glance. 2 years old b/t, another quality bitch. Lovely head and eye. Good reach of neck, shoulders ok. Well ribbed, good rear with short hocks. A little over long in body and would have preferred more ground clearance with underbody. 3. Rawson’s, Rosenket Zcotch Mist.

OB. (11). A strong class of quality bitches, I’m sure many will change places many times. 1. Armstrong’s, Lauralee Inspiration. 2 years old b/t full of quality. Well balanced of correct size. Lovely head and oblique eye. Strong neck leading into good shoulder. Correct barrelled ribbing. Good keel, short loin, good second thigh, short hocks. Moved well covering the ground at all times. RCC. Pressed hard for top honours. 2. Burke and Manston’s, Bonavoir Kildaly Dancer. 3 years old b/t. Very nice bitch well presented lots to like about her. Good head and eye. Good front assembly, correct ribbing. Short loin, nicely let down quarters. Moved well. I just thought she was carrying a little too much weight. 3. Cooper’s, Sontag Single Minded.
