This was the 11th time I have judged this
variety, so by know exhibitors will know I don’t like big, exaggerated or
nervous. Not a big entry and some dogs I have admired from afar not present,
you have to be in it to win it. Those present were generally of good
quality, well presented and sound in temperament.
PD (2) Different in type and both with a lot
of virtues. 1 Chauhan, Neithund Angus At Raajput. Would like him shorter in
loin and back for ideal balance, but has a firm topline and better feet than
2. Conical ahead, dark eyes. Long neck. Slightly forward in shoulder. Long
keel. Well spring ribs. Good rear with low hocks. Parallel mover with
lengthy stride. He presents a classical Dachshund outline. CC & BP. 2
Chapman-Reith, Hayvenhund Hunky Dory. He has better proportions than a 1.
Liked his head. Dark, almond eyes. Long neck. Enough forechest. Well sprung
ribs. Can settle in topline. More moderate in rear than 1 and slightly
narrow coming towards but a dog that should do v well.
JD (1) 1 Young, Craimose Adonis. He has a
super outline and ideal proportions. Liked his conical head with correct
width and length. Lengthy neck. Well laid shoulder. Good ribs. Level topline
ok rear. Could be better out and back and just a bit more at one with
handler.
YD (3,1) 1 Rycroft, Fantastic Frank at
Trisensara JW. Liked him for size and proportions, could loose a little
weight to advantage. Super head. V good eyes and ears. Long neck. His
angulation is a bit moderate but v well balanced. Well ribbed. Level in
topline. 2 Graham, Marvale Chancellor at Ravold. Bigger d but I liked his
outline. Masc head. Lengthy neck. Quite a good front. Would like better
feet. Level topline. Could be shorter in loin. Not as good on move as 1.
PGD (1) 1 Rycroft, Jacksondax Hornet Hurrah JW.
Really liked his size and proportions, probably the best in the entry in
that regard. He has a long head. Slight stop. Well set ears. Long neck.
Could be slightly better in shoulder and longer in upper arm. Moderate
forechest. Well ribbed bed back to a short loin. Level topline. Well made
rear. Accurate on move, could just stride more. RCC.
LD (1) 1 Small, Imp Almaznyi Laretz Ershalaim
At Devondax. Good honest type of smooth. Masc head. Ears could be better
set. Medium neck. Quite a good front. Would like better feet and more slope
in pastern. Deep chest. Longer in loin than ideal. Level topline. Well made
rear, could just be more positive going away.
MPB (1) 1 Cox & Cox, Bulldaxit Sooner Or
Later. V fem b of good size and proportions. Liked her head, eyes could be
bigger. Enough neck. Quite a good front. Level topline. Could be shorter in
loin. Well made rear. Can settle moving.
PB (1) 1 Chapman-Reith, Hayvenhund Hissy Fit.
Fem pup of v good proportions, rather proud of her tail but that could
settle. Quite a good head, a bit deep in stop. Medium neck. Quite a good
shoulder. Enough forechest. Well ribbed. Firm topline. Ok rear. Could be
firmer out and back.
LB (3,2) 1 Small, Ulybka Fortuny Zlatovlaska
At Devondax (Imp Rus) Standing she has a super shape. She is v fem in head,
almond, dark eyes. She has a lengthy neck. Turns for front feet in. Deep
chest. Well sprung ribs. Somewhat long in loin. Well made rear. Could have a
better topline on the move. In super condition.
OB (4) 1 Chauhan, Ch Adnerbs Take A Chance On
Me At Raajput. Top quality b. She is longer than ideal and could have better
feet, but that is about all I would change on her. Super head with fabulous
eye and expression. Long neck. Well laid shoulder. Long and sloping upper
arm. Despite her extra length holds a perfect topline. Super rear. Accurate
mover and such a long and free stride. Was my BIS last year at Great Joint
and today CC & BOB. 2 Hanney-Mitchell, Ch Bronia Solar Flare. I actually
preferred the proportions on this quality b. She has a super head, ears
slightly long. Good neck. Her angulations are v well balanced. Deep chest.
Could have less loose skin and a certain softness to her. Slightly proud of
tail but she is a v good mover holding her topline v well. RCC
