WIRE HAIRED. The type, size and quality of the entry was very mixed with many
being well over the recommended weight of 26lb. Feet on the whole were dreadful,
good feet are a must for a working hound and exhibits should still be considered
as such. There were quite a few broad coarse skulls, which resulted in an
incorrect head shape and expression. However I feel there has been considerable
improvement in the overall quality of the breed in the last 3 or 4 years almost
certainly as a result of the use at stud of USA and UK Ch. Starbarrack Diamond.
PD. (2). 1. Hogan’s, Rosbarnagh Goldfinch of Mistywaters. Masculine head,
prominenet keel, well laid shoulders, excellent coat. Feet very flat and topline
poor, could be improved by losing some weight. JD. (3). 1. Borman’s, Sonic Sir
Galahad. Super size, good jacket. Well laid shoulders, good depth of chest.
Lovely bend of stifle and well let down hocks. Best feet in class. Considered
for RCC and I’m sure his green cards will come in time. 2. Phillips’, Tendrow
Jasper. Larger dog. Excellent jacket, head and neck, feet not as effectively as
first, well balanced. 3. Kent’s, Liebling Play in the Hay. PGD. (4). Very
difficult choice between first and second. 1. Dible’s, Ritlo Make Kine at
Liebling. Super size, beautifully presented. Balanced well bent stifle. Good lay
back of shoulders. Moved well, good topline, feet could be tighter. 2. Vine’s,
Cishelvine Country Born. Super front and better feet than first, but not the
bend of stifle. Preferred coat of first. Lovely head and neck with good topline,
stood and on the move. 3. Holtby’s, Leblings Banners Waving. LD. (9). 1.
Paterson’s, Cishelvine Firedancer. Super head, neck and front. Feet could be
tighter. Well angulated hind end. Moves freely, excellent coat, beautifully
presented. 2. Vine’s, Cishlvine Candle Lighter. Super head, not quite the jacket
of first. Well balanced, moves freely, good feet, well angulated behind. 3.
Phillips’s, Wells Sea Breeze at Tendrow. OD. (6). 1. Hitchens’, Ch. Ashihna
Buck’s Fizz. I dislike judges who alter placings, but this chap was just asking
for the CC despite his 6 years he thundered around the ring with verve and
drive. His tail constantly wagging. Super compact body, excellent front, neck
and feet. Well bent stifle, well let down hocks, moves with such drive. CC. 2.
Harris’s, Ritlo Rupert in Red. Not an easy dog to handle, even for his expert
handler. Super coated red dog. Best head in the whole entry. Well laid
shoulders, but not quite the front of first, as he tends to lean back on his
pasterns. Moves with drive. Both he and his father (CC winner) have the well
developed “apple” bottom required by a working hound RCC. PB. (5). 1. Derry’s,
Ritterburg Lady Guinevere at Andlouis. BP. Very pleasing bitch. Lovely head,
neck, front and feet. Well angulated hind end. Moved well, excellent coat, ideal
size. 2. Davies’s, Atahira Indigo Blue. Larger bitch. Lovely head, good large
feet, ribs carried well back. Topline needs to settle wonderful temperament. 3.
Carroll’s, Ritterburg the Lady Elaine at Soneve. JB. (4). 1. Pugh and Fraser’s,
Bystock African Queen. RCC. Quite outstanding young bitch. Excellent coat, good
front, neck and feet. Well angulated hind end. Very feminine, well let down
hocks. Correct size, only lost out to CC winner on the hind action. 2. Rowe’s,
Boloria Black Magic. Slightly larger bitch. Not the feet or upperarm of first.
Good topline, stood and on the move. 3. Ryder’s, Sonic Knight Sky to Jaskar. PGB.
(7). 1. Johnstone’s, Silvae Zloty. Beautiful feminine red bitch. Super neck and
front. Well angulated hind end. Beautiful outline on the move. Reminds me so
much of my own Rosie Posy. Not familiar with her handler, who did very well to
get her to show as well as she did. Needs to carry a bit more weight. 2. Harris
and Holmes’s, Ritlo in Merry Mood. Very similar in type to first. Good jacket
and feet. Moved well, preferred head of first, moved with verve. 3. Latter’s,
Terony Flo Jo at Speldax. LB. (9). 1. Moore’s, Romanchi Tagish. Beautifully
constructed bitch, sound as a bell. Good feet, prominenet front, well bent
stifle. Uses hind end well. Good length of rib cage. Super topline stood and on
the move. Coat could be tighter, only factor that let her down on the day. 2.
Harris’s, Ritlo Jewel in Ebony. Lighter built bitch. Not quite the hind end of
first. Good front, coat and neck. Feet could be tighter. 3. Johnstone’s, Silvae
Coo-Ee. OB. (4). 1. Dible and Harris’s, M L Ch. Sildowns Black Eye Gypsy from
Ritlo. CC and BOB. Heavenly red brindle with super coat, excellent neck, front
and feet. Ribs carried well back. Well angulated hind end, with slightly arched
loin, moves freely with verve and drive. 2. Johnstone’s, Silvae Picnic. Very
diffrent type but pretty and feminine. Lovely front and neck, not the feet of
first, moves well.
