DACHSHUND WIREHAIRED

PD. (2). 1. Pride and Vanstone’s, Ritio the Jazzman. A rather gawky youngster. Certainly in need of some ring training as he does not do himself any favours on the move. A shade on the leg for me. Excellent reach of neck, layback of shoulder and rib length. His backline is good and his coat texture pleased. I would like more bone. Fair headpiece of good proportions.

LD. (3). 1. Phillip’s, Wellsea Breeze at Tendrow. Lots to like about this top quality handsome fellow. Good length of rib, back quite level. Gentle rise over the loins and he is nicely angulated aft. His head has length, the eyes are well shaped and expressive and he has enough forechest. Moved well here to win this nice class but lost his backline in the challenge for BD. 2. Kent’s, Liebling Play in the Hay. A bigger chap all through and I feel his high set tail spoils his backline. Really big ribbed, strong in forchest and well boned. Coat an excellent texture and his hock action is strong. Could be tidier in front. 3. Gordon’s, Silvae Zanny at Kempsey.

OD. (2). 1. Speak’s, Callgari Rodnan Royal Zinc.

BD. 2. Paterson’s, Clshelvine Firedancer. RBD. I found these two very smart dogs hard to split. I felt the winner had the edge in head balance with a really good expression from well shaped and coloured eyes. He was also in better jacket and carried his tail that bit better. The second matched him in all other aspects and definitely had the edge in upper arm length and forward reach. Both had excellent ribcages with such firm backlines. I wouldn’t want them any bigger though there is no hint of coarseness.

PB. (3). 1. Endersby’s, Mowbray Peggy Sue. BP. I thought her a really promising youngster of lovely body length and such good bone. Pleasing head, strong foreface, not overdone in stop and lovely eyes. Scores in fore assembly, excellent forechest, fairly tight fitting elbows and going away her hock action is so purposeful. Just needs to firm up in backline when in stance. 2. Vine’s, liebling Sea Mist over Clshelvine. Proving quite a handful for her handler. Pleasing head, neck of good length, well ribbed and nice topline. Not the strong, well bent stifles of the first nor did she give such a positive display when moving. Jacket harsh to the touch and well bodied.

JB. (1). 1. Clifford’s, Ablebody Operetta. Out of coat red which never really strode out as well as her shape implied she would. Pleasing head balance, very good ears and eyes, just enough neck. Good ribcage and well muscled. Ample weight of bone for her sex.

PGB. (1). 1. Rowe’s, Boloria Black Magic. Rather a nice bitch of good body weight proportions and with pleasing angles both ends. Her head is a good wedge though eyes could be that shade darker to her advantage. Nicely ribbed with just enough bend of stifle. Topline rises a little on the move which detracts from an otherwise pleasing profile as she moves round the ring.

LB. (2). 1. Sallsbury’s, Brocklewood Clementine. I found her so appealing when stacked. Lovely size, beautiful neck and backline. She has plenty of substance, good forechest and front quite true when coming towards me. Her head is delightful. The ears frame her face so well and the eyes are dark and well shaped. In good jacket she looked the part.

OB. (3). Only three but all beautiful bitches. 1. Poulter’s, Ch. Lankelly Black Bryony. BOB. Out of the top drawer. This is such a well known bitch and it was a pleasure to have the chance to go over her. All the parts fit so well, the head is a joy, the sheer quality is so apparant and her whole shape just flows. Beautifully ribbed, the harshest of coats and totally sound on the move. 2. Gordon’s, Silvae Gemstone at Cempsey. Another delightful bitch and I was surprised to see she has not gained her crown. She would certainly be worthy of it. I especially liked her head, its smoothness and balance, leading to a fair length of neck. Wonderful body proportions and well angulated hindquarters leading to short, strong hocks. Ultra feminine in outlook. she was in excellent body and coat condition and moved out with real reach and drive. 3. Pughe and Fraser’s, Bystock African Queen.
