WIREHAIRED

Whilst appreciating that, without CC's, the exhibits were not necessarily a representative sample of the breed as a whole, I feel that I should point out the most obvious failings I found, for the benefit of these exhibitors. Head-shape was not good; they should be conical, i.e. tapering gradually from eye to nose, not pinched in front of the eyes then narrow throughout. Upper arms were too short, no doubt contributing to the poor front movement in some exhibits which almost plaited in front. Only two exhibits moved parallel going away; convergence of hind legs appeared to be the norm. A few soft coats.

My apologies to the exhibitors for the brevity of these critiques, due to excessive wind noise on my voice recorder - I'm sure they will understand!

PD(2,1) 1 Paskins' Atahira Bags Of Blue At Kindeace, 9 months old, correct eye and earset, decent length of neck, good length of rib and hopefully these will spring with maturity, well off for bone, angulation could be better front and rear but moved nicely for a youngster, shows promise. RBD, BP.

PGD (2,1) 1 Pinkerton's Bystock Skye Walker At Menigma,  correct eye, prominent forechest and good bone, reasonable shoulder layback, well-sprung ribs but would benefit from a little more length to them, drove around nicely using hocks well.

OD
(2,1)  (2)1 Rollinson's Ch/Ir.Ch Nosinllor Grenadier,  good bone, shoulder layback and length of upper arm, reasonable spring of rib but would like to see him carrying a little more weight to improve flanks and underline, good angulation in stifles and hocks, flowed around the ring with purpose. BD. 2  Clifford's Ablebody Rock N Roll,  good shoulder placement but upper arms could be better, would like a harsher coat, moved quite well.

PB
(2) 1 Clifford's Ablebody Song For Solo,  correct eyes, well-sprung ribs with good underline, prominent forechest and good shoulder layback, drove round nicely. 2  Clarke's Lovedachs Superb,  nice little bitch that showed and moved quite well but a little high on the leg for my taste.

JB
  (1) 1 Seath's Zita Starsong At Sunsong – well-shaped head with correct eye, prominent forechest and fair spring of rib, good length of keel and ribbing, good shoulder layback and reasonable length to upper arm, well-angulated stifles, moved parallel in front and drove away well.

PGB
  (3) 1 Speak's Rodnan Cassandras Girl,  nicely made bitch all round and one that moves parallel behind albeit a trifle wide, good head and eye, good shoulder layback and length to upper arm, good spring and length of rib and long keel, nicely angulated hindquarters carried her around the ring with drive. 2  Watkin-Jones' and Jones' Swincombe English Rose For Jerdax - nice head and eye, prominent forechest and good layback of shoulder, upper arm could be longer, decent spring of rib and good length of keel, could have better stifle angulation but moved quite nicely. 3 Clarke's Lovedachs Victorious.

OB
  (5) 1 Speak's Rodnan The Goddess Athene - beautifully made all through and drove around the ring as if she owned it, parallel coming and going, litter sister to PG winner and same comments apply, just loved her; so nicely proportioned and well-balanced she thoroughly deserved her BOB, surely a CC can't be far away. 2  Paskins' Soneve Prudence At Kindeace - good head and eye on reachy neck, prominent forechest and reasonable length to upper arm, good length of keel and spring of rib, quite good rear angulation and moved around the ring well. RBB. 3 Poulter's Ch. Lankelly Black Bryony.
