My second favorite variety next to my own miniature longs.  I really enjoyed judging them in 2010 and enjoyed them just as much this time.  The size overall I felt has come down since then, though there are still a few of the larger type around.  Temperament was absolutely fantastic in all the exhibits. Heads on the whole were good but I would like to have seen more feminine heads on the girls as I like to be able to see immediately who are the boys and who are the girls. Mouths on the whole were correct, a few tail sets were incorrect too high set producing visually poor top lines.

MPD – 2 (1a)

1st  Wharton’s Greyhayne Beethoven, still very much a baby, good head and expression, good coat for age, well constructed throughout, with good length of ribbing.  Movement very unsettled, needs to tighten up, good furnishings.

PD – 3

1st McCalmont’s Silvae Farrago, quality dog throughout, lovely masculine head and expression, good length of neck into nicely constructed front, good forechest, well balanced, moved freely with purpose, a bit more maturity and I am sure he will pick up the CC’s in the future.  RDCC & BPD & BP in Breed. Best Puppy in Show

2nd Brown’s Knottrose Juniper.  Correctly proportioned head with good expression, heavier type than 1, very much still a baby and a little unsure of himself, good coat for age.

3rd Davis’s Knottsrose Monkey Puzzle

PGD – 1

1st Bubb’s Tecklgarth Leapoffaith to  Wyeknot. Very compact dark brindle with excellent coat type.  Correct head, nice reach of neck in to correctly angulated shoulders, good forechest. Ribbing in proportion to overall size, good outline, moved out well but a little close behind, super tight feet.

LD – 4

1st Seath’s Zlowfox AV Larhjelm at Sunsong. Masculine head, lovely expression, good coat and furnishings, Good reach of neck, good angulation front and rear, moved true keeping nice outline.

2nd Gibson’s Allfreys Rock of Gibralter.  Very dark brindle, slightly lower to the ground than 1, well off for bone, Correct head, good furnishings, good coat, moved well.

3rd Rowe’s Boloria’s Cadbury’s Surprise

OD – 4

1st Downes Aventine You Only Live Twice. Excellent quality dog, stood out in the line up, Lovely masculine head, good reach of neck, correct eye. Well placed shoulders with excellent forechest. Good length of ribbing, well angulated hind quarters. Super sound free flowing movement keeping topline at all times. Well deserved CC, his third I believe and overall Best of Breed.

2nd McCalmont’s Ch Silvae Zealot. Well handled Brindle of the larger type.  Strong masculine head with super expression. Correct coat type, good length of neck, good strong mover, well presented, preferred front construction of 1

3rd Davies’s Ch Atahira Joie De Bleu

Vet D or B – 1

1st Downes & Moore Am/GR Ch Daybreak’s Classique Cruiser. What a happy young veteran, 7 years old, Good masculine head and expression with lovely furnishings, neat eye. Well off for bone, a very strong power mover around the ring. A very worthy Champion, a real consideration for top honors today, a very difficult decision to choose between these quality winners.

MPB 6 (4a).

1st Moore’s Romanchi Mi’kmaq. Six and a half months, small but beautiful, loads of presence, all in proportion. Excellent head and expression, very feminine, good coat and furnishings, excellent bone, movement a little unsettled but still very much a baby, will be interested to see her mature.

2nd Seath’s Sunsong Polar Ice.  Longer type than 1, another baby that needs to settle down, very erratic on the move, good head and expression, nicely made throughout.

3rd Bubb’s Applebody Voix Celeste At Wykeknot

PB – 1

1st McCalmont’s Silvae Solo. Excellent head and expression, very feminine, good reach of neck, good angulation front and rear. She was very alert to her surroundings and very unsettled on the move, once she settled her movement was good, keeping a good topline, may have been the excessive noise in the hall that distracted her

JB – 4

1st Gibson’s Allfreys Sternchen Alrisha.  Another of the smaller compact type, very feminine head, sweet expression, good furnishings, well put together, super front and hind angulation.

2nd Moore & Downes Aventine My Cousin Rachel. Another lovely bitch from this kennel, well presented although another one that was a bit unsettled. Good head, well angulated, good coat, excellent front construction, just preferred the slightly lower to ground type of 1..

3rd May’s Waggington Diamond

PGB – 7 (2a)

1st May’s Wagsford Molly May. Nice size, dark brindle, obvious winner as she walked in the ring. Lovely head and expression, nicely angulated, moved well keeping a good outline, well presented.

2nd Gibson’s Allfreys Greta Garbo.  Another lovely girl, needs to mature, not as well angulated as 1, nevertheless a good bitch with feminine head, sweet expression.  Difficult decisions in this class.

3rd Brown’s November Storm for Ablebody

LB  - 4 (2a)

1st Rowe’s Boloria’s Naughty But Nice.  Very feminine head, good furnishings, unusual pale chocolate, nice reach of neck into nicely angulated shoulders with good forechest.  Moved true fore and back keeping excdellent topline. Good proportions throughout.

2nd Brown’s November Storm for Ablebody. Red with lovely head and sweet feminine expression, longer type than 1, moved and presented well.

OB – 2

1st McCalmont’s Silvae Quintet, Beautiful feminine head and expression, very elegant, moved around the ring with purpose. Well constructed front with excellent angulation throughout, Good coat and furnishings, challenged hard for Best of Breed. BCC.

2nd Pugh & Fraser’s Ch Bystock Pussy Galore, Shorter type than 1, Good head, nice expression, good coat and furnishings, well made throughout, just didn’t have the super free flow of movement of 1 RBCC
