Thank you for a super entry. I found some super wires and was spoilt for choice in some classes. I thought the breed to have improved since I judged them last. Fronts are certainly improved and I only found one or two suspect mouths. Type continues to be varied, but the influence of imported stock has certainly been beneficial. Temperament, on the whole, was excellent.
Puppy Dog - 3
1st Vine’s Kasalane Ostiriato Sea Over Cishelvine. Smart, red puppy with a pleasing head and expression. Neat front, well-placed shoulders, decent ribbing and strong hindquarters. Moved soundly, showing a clean pair of heels going away.
2nd Adams’ Sonham Paddington. Brindle dog – not as tight in front as 1 and needed to settle in topline, but gave a good account of himself here.
3rd Ord’s Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee
Junior dog - 2
1st Hutchings and Price’s Collidach Percy Cute at Samlane. Long, low and level brindle dog who really appeals. Super head and eye, tidy front and hind assembly. Moved with drive, keeping his topline. Just needing to body and finish, one to watch.
2nd Dean’s Brontillow King of Cups. Brindle dog of heavier type. Decent front but needs to settle behind. Could not match 1 for movement.
Post Graduate Dog – 9 (1a)
1st and Reserve CC. Seath’s Sunsong Fire Opal. Delightfully naughty and full of himself, brindle dog. Put down to the minute in hard condition with a harsh jacket, he was here to show off! Scores in movement, driving with power off his hocks with a lashing tail and is so well-constructed. Close up for the CC, he must have a bright future.
2nd Matthews’ Stanegate Billy the Kid with Sonham JW. Really smart, light brindle dog, Shorter-coupled than 1 with decent bone and a good coat. Moved out really well with a firm topline, just not the hind extension of 1 today.
3rd Davies’ Atahira Ruffian
Limit Dog – 5 (1a)
1st CC & BOB McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Mr Wilks JW. Absolutely cracking, brindle, dog who has the whole package. So neat and tidy all through, he really can’t stand wrongly. In clean, hard, fit condition – he was beautifully presented. Really comes into his own on the move, which he does with considerable drive and extension, covering the ground with ease, of a lovely type and size, I’m sure he will be an asset to the breed and will gain his title with ease.
2nd Carruthers’ Alkton Alexander of Stanegate. Really smart, brindle dog who appeals for type. Super front and well-constructed all through. Very tidy and try on the move, but not the drive and extension of 1 today.
3rd Adams’ Tecklegarth Gatling JW
Open Dog – 1
1st Chambers Cishelvine Just a Kiss with Hototo. Red dog with a really smart outline and shown in decent condition and in good coat. Sound mover with a firm topline, just a bit steady today. Would have liked to see him open his gait a little more.
Veteran - 1
1st Vine’s Derochaise Justified For Chishelvine. Free-moving brindle dog of lovely type. Decent head and eye, tidy front and well-ribbed with good hind assembly. Kept a firm topline when moving, which he did very well.
Special Beginners Dog or Bitch – 1
1st Hunt’s Bolorias Tetely’s Tea Cake at Drakkina. Really well presented, smart, brindle bitch of super type. Pleasing head and expression, correct front and good length of neck. Well-ribbed with good hind assembly. Really sound and positive mover with a delightful, happy, temperament. Was delighted to hear she won the Special Beginners’ Hound Group later in the day.
Puppy Bitch – 6 (2a)
1st and Best Puppy
Rowe’s Boloria Nice N’ Spicy. Compact, brindle bitch who really appeals. Beautifully-constructed and well-presented in super condition. Exhibited a delightful temperament, lashing her tail the whole time. Comes into her own on the move, showing terrific drive for such a baby. Well-handled to get the best from her, she will have a very bright future I’m sure. Pleased to award her Best Puppy.
2nd Matthews’ Sonham Saucy Saffron. Brindle bitch with much to commend her. Lengthier and longer cast then 1, she has yet to settle in her topline – which I’m sure she will as she matures. Gave a good account of herself here.
3rd Seath’s Glowing Topaz at Sunsong
Junior Bitch – 6 (2a)
1st Hutchings’ Collidach Brook Ling. Really smart, red bitch with a super coat for a red! My notes say L, L & L, which she is! Lovely head and expression, neat front, super ribbing and well-angulated rear. Moves so well, keeping her topline. Close up for Reserve CC. I’m sure she will gain her title with maturity.
2nd Howe’s Kissdachs Diva at Bramalodge. Really neat and tidy, compact brindle bitch. Soundly-made all through and moved really well – was a bit unsettled here today.
3rd Hunt’s Boloria’s Tetely’s Tea Cake at Drakkina
Post Graduate Bitch – 10 (1 a)
1st McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Biscotti (A1). Beautiful, brindle bitch. Shown in fab coat and condition, a half sibling to the BOB winner and so like him in type, she really appeals. Moves with great style, showing terrific hind drive – but would go better on a loose lead. Destined for the upper house once she settles I’m sure.
2nd Arthur’s Elderkine Rumours. Brindle bitch who is long, low and level and heavier in type than 1. Very nicely constructed all through, and moved soundly but not the drive of 1 today.
3rd Carter’s Wyreview Robyn
Limit Bitch – 3 (1 a)
1st and CC. Moore and Downes Megline Bohemian Rhapsody. Absolutely loved this stunning, brindle bitch who has so much going for her. Terrific reach of neck, but so balanced. Super front and lay of shoulder with a powerful rear – she just powers around the ring, making it look easy. Topline maintained at all times. Put down to the minute in superb condition, hope she gets her title soon. Very happy to award her the bitch CC.
2nd Clayton Smith’s Cairparavel Kiss from a Rose JW. Well-presented, dark brindle bitch who has much to commend her. Sound, positive mover, unlucky to meet 1 on such good form today.
Open Bitch – 5 (2 a)
1st and Reserve CC. Rowe’s Boloria’s Trick or Treat JW. Cracking, brindle bitch who is hard to fault. Neat and compact she is a veritable power house – especially when she moves. Super head and expression, tidy front and good length and spring of rib. Hammy quarters which she really uses to exhibit strong, driving movement. Close up for the CC here. Well-presented in super condition.
2nd McPherson & Paterson’s Brumberhill Bellissima Sh CM. Well-presented, dark brindle bitch shown in fab order. Smart in outline, she just couldn’t match 1 on the move today but has much to commend her – being well-constructed all through and absolutely sound.
3rd Hutchings’ Tendrow I Am the One from Collidach JW
Veteran Bitch – 3 (1a)
1st & Best Veteran. Howlett’s Boloria Arabella. Classy, brindle bitch who looks nothing like a veteran! In fantastic condition and better muscled up than some of the youngsters. Classic head with good reach of neck. A neat front and decent ribbing, uses her rear to move with drive, keeping a strong topline. A credit to her owner.
2nd Eldred’s Brimalodge Amiety. Shorter-coupled, brindle bitch of decent type, enjoying her day out. Well-constructed overall, but not the feet or strong pasterns of 1 so lost out on movement.
