I would like to thank the 4 clubs that make up The Great Joint for inviting me to judge the Wire Haired Dachshunds and for the sporting exhibitors who turned out in such dreadful weather conditions to give me a fabulous entry both in quality and quantity. The show ran like clockwork and there was a great atmosphere. It’s not always possible to judge to type but today I was fortunate as my BCC and RBCC were sisters and my puppy dog and bitch were litter mates.

MPD (3) 1 Eldred’s Derdledash Naughty Neptune. Super quality puppy of excellent breed type, lovely outline, level topline which he kept on the move, loved his head and expression which came from correct eye and ears. Lovely bone and front, excellent quarters and neat hocks showed well and in good jacket. 2 Best’s Stanegate Set Em Up Joe For Bettina. Excellent coat, pleasing head, length of body, level topline with good bone and substance, not quite the balance of winner and needs more ring training.

PD (2) 1 Adams’s Sonham Paddington. 2 nice babies, Well developed puppy, super masculine head into clean neck and well laid shoulders, good return off upper arm. Ample bone and good forechest, super topline stacked and on the move, well developed quarters, good jacket and showed well. 2 Vine’s Kasalane Ostiriato Sea Over Cishelvine. Super puppy with lovely balanced body, good head and kind eye, enough bone neat feet, super neck and topline with well angulated quarters, straight hocks, just overawed and didn’t want to perform.

JD (8) 1 Effer’s Kasalane Rhapsody. 11mth puppy, super shape and size, balanced outline, masculine head and kind expressive eyes, well placed ears good forechest and bone for age, lovely length of neck and level topline ribbed well back with good bend of stifle. Still needs time to mature but sound free mover. 2 Dean’s Brontillow King Of Cups. Masculine dog, pleasing head and expression with good head furnishings, lovely forechest and return of upper arm, enough neck and good ribbing, correct length of body and strong quarters. A little unsettled. 2 Seath’s Sunsong Fire Opal. Super jacket, not as masculine as winner, well proportioned head and body, reachy neck set on well placed shoulders, would like a shade more spring of rib, good quarters moved well, still a young dog and has time to mature. 3 Hutchins and Price’s Collidach Percy Cute At Samlane
