I would like to thank the Midland Dachshund Club for the invitation and all the exhibitors for a super entry. Big thanks to both my stewards for making the ring run smoothly. I really enjoyed the day and for me this variety must be the strongest for depth of quality. I could have handed out numerous big green cards which isn’t always the case.

VD (2,1) 1 Phillips Ch Royal Pepper’s Vice Versa (Imp Fin). What a great way to start the entry. I dog I have always admired and previously given a BOB too. Lovely head and almond eye. Clean neck, well angulated and balanced with good proportions and ground clearance. Good bone and bunchy feet. Correct top and underline. Very good coat and condition. Moved soundly with ease and held his shape. BVD and BV.

MPD (2,0) 1 Wills Kasalane Pietersite. Lovely balanced head and dark almond eye. Clean neck into good shoulders and just enough upper arm. Would like a little more fill in front and fore chest. Well ribbed back, would like a little more length to keel. Overall good body proportions. Well angulated quarters. Excellent coat. Moved well with good drive 2 Wrights Barembak Ruffus Von Pitneze. Balanced in angles. Typey head and correct eye, good length of neck into ok shoulder and upper arm. Well ribbed back but a touch longer in the body than ideal. Enough fore chest and with good top and underline. Tail set a little high. Moved parallel. Coat coming through well.

PD (1,0) 1 Davies Atahira Finale. Conical head with good eye. Clean neck of good length, well angulated without being overdone and balanced with hindquarters. Overall good proportions, well ribbed with good top and underline and looks lovely when he pulls himself together. Good bone and tight feet. Used himself well on the move and coat coming through well. In good condition. BPD.

JD (6,1) 1 Phillips Tendrow Will To Succeed. Such a lovely dog to go over and with lots of typical breed points. Compact all over. Loved his head and eye. Lengthy neck and textbook front construction bringing his legs well under him. Just enough ribbing with good top and underline and short loin. Good bone and compact feet. Well angulated quarter with strong hocks. On the move he was precise up and back and held himself well in profile. Excellent coat and condition. Pleased to award him RDCC. 2 Mccalmonts Silvae Bystander. Another lovely dog who was close up to 1. Beautiful overall shape and balance with ideal proportions. Typey head and almond dark eye. Good length to neck, well laid shoulder and upper arm of good length. Well bone legs fitting neatly round his well filled fore chest. Good length of keel with correct top and underline. Well ribbed back to short loin and good length to croup. He looked great in profile holding a good shape but was pulling away slightly on the up and back. In great coat.  3 Mountfords Incordemeo Highflyer

PGD (6,0) 1 Mountfords Incordemeo Midnight. Not a flashy dog but very correct and good to go over. Very good head that was balanced with correct dark eye. Good angles and balanced without being overdone anywhere. Good bone, feet could be tighter. Well filled in front with good top and underline and enough ground clearance. Short loin and good length of croup. Parallel on the move and used himself well in profile. Excellent coat texture. 2 Beagrie Feldhund Moonlight JW. Good length to head with balanced proportions and clear ridges. Lengthy neck, ok in shoulder but would like more length to upper arm. Good fore chest and well ribbed back. Well angulated quarters with strong hocks. Sound up and back but looked a little restricted in front in profile. Good coat. 3 Matthews Sonham Fire Cracker

LD (13,1) A good class where places could change on a different day. 1 Rowes Boloria Goodnight Mr Tom JW. Lovely head and almond dark eye. Neck of good length leading into good shoulder and upper arm. Well filled fore chest and length to keel. Ribbed well back with good top and underline. Good bone and compact feet. Well angulated behind. Overall good proportions and ground clearance.  Sound up and back and had reach and drive in profile holding his shape. I can tell this boy has a difficult coat to work with however his top coat was a great texture. In great condition. 2 Mccalmonts Covellyn’s Cecil at Silvae (Imp Che). Ideal shape and balance with good ground clearance and body proportions. Typey head of good length. He was good to go over with correct angles. Well ribbed and spot on top and underline. In great coat and condition. Looked a picture in profile but today looked a little narrow coming towards. 3 Phillips Tendrow Rubens Hagrid

OD (3,0) 1 Howlett and Phillips Ch Tendrow Malibar JW. This dog took my eye as soon as he came in. For me he is an ideal size, everything flows and fits together so well. He has the correct shape, proportions and ground clearance. Beautiful head and eye being balanced with clear ridges and of good length.  Spot on for angulation, fore chest, ribbing, top and underline. Short loin. Excellent bone and feet. On the move he was absolutely true up and back and had reach and drive in profile holding his shape with correct carriage. His owner needs to be commended for his excellent coat and condition. For me they have to have be a “wirehaired” Dachshund and his coat was spot on with even his furnishings being of good texture and not a hair out of place. Very pleased to award him the DCC. 2 Hutchings and Prices Collidach Percy Cute at Samlane. Different type of dog to the winner but with lots to like. Masculine compact and well-muscled. A little bigger and longer but all in proportion. Lengthy well-proportioned head with dark eye. Correct neck running into very good shoulder and upper arm. Well ribbed back with short loin. Good length to croup and angulation to quarters.  Enough ground clearance and with good bone and compact feet. Sound and with big open profile movement. Coat well presented. 3 Akehursts Boloria All Spice

VB (4,1) 1 Rowes Ch Boloria’s Trick or Treat JW VW. Lovely bitch who looked great today. Totally balanced and well made. Good overall proportions, good to go over with everything in the right place. Typey feminine head of good length and balance. Well ribbed back with good underline, bone and tight feet, Moved and showed so well holding her shape. In great coat. BVB. 2 Hutchings Tendrow I Am The One From Collidach JW VW. Loved her head and eye. Clean neck into good shoulder and length to upper arm. Good fore chest and length to keel. Well ribbed, short loin and held her shape well. Moved with good reach and drive. Coat well presented.  3 Howes Deri Ze Zofova Dvora

MPB (2,0) 1 Buxtons Mereblake Agnes. Raw puppy but good to go over with correct angles. Typey head and almond shaped eye. Enough fore chest, well ribbed back with enough length to keel. Good tail set and length to croup. Full rump and strong bone and neat feet. Moved soundly. Coat well presented. 2 Wills Kasalane Apache’s Tear. Not as together as 1. Conical head and correct eye. Enough neck with good shoulder, a little narrow in front. Well ribbed back with neat feet and good topline. Very good coat. Overall good proportions and balance. Moved ok.

PB (1,0) 1 Binks Tannahill Lovely Day. A quality girl who must have a bright future a long with her sister. Totally balanced and well made with good angles and ground clearance. A lovely size. Typey, feminine head of good length and balance. Clean neck, pronounced fore chest, well ribbed with good top and underline. Strong bone and neat feet. Sound up and back and holds her shape in profile. Great coat and condition. Pleased to award her BPB and BPIB.

JB (9,0) A very good class. 1 Mccalmonts Silvae Fan The Flames. When I first looked at this bitch I knew she would be hard to beat and then when I had her on the table, she was so good to go over and my hands just flowed over her. Loved her shape and text book angulation, fore chest, ribbing, top and underline. She had enough ground clearance, a lovely size, feminine yet compact and well-muscled all over. Loved her lengthy head which was totally balanced and of good shape. Clear ridges and almond shaped dark eye. Her outline was clean and for me the best Dachshunds hold the same shape on the move as they do when they are stood and this bitch did exactly that. She was parallel up and back and then in profile she opened up with great carriage and style holding that shape. Her crisp wire coat was spot on and she had an extra quality about her. For me she couldn’t be denied the CC and BOB. I’m sure her title won’t be long off. 2 Patersons Brumberhill Biscuit to Ambiesque. I really liked this bitch and she again took my eye on the first look round. Totally balanced and with overall good proportions. Typey head and eye. Good length to neck with ideal forequarters that matched her behind. Her middle piece was well ribbed with short loin and good length to croup. Good ground clearance, top and underline. Strong bone and neat feet. She was sound up and back and used herself well in profile. In excellent coat. Called her back in for the RCC but she was a little flat so just missed out. Should gain her title. 3 Howlett and Rowes Ch Boloria Oh Darling JW

PGB (16,3) 1 Dickinsons Derdledash Skyfall at Dakotadax JW. Good overall shape, balance and body proportions. Length to head with almond eye. Well made with good ribbing, top and underline. Strong bone and good feet. Well ribbed back to short loin. Good topline and fill in front. Moved soundly and held a nice shape. Very good coat. 2 Chambers Hototo’s Village Gossip. An honest bitch with everything where it should be and nothing overdone. Liked her balanced head, dark eye but could have a better shape to it. Clean neck and balanced angles. Well ribbed with good top and underline. Correct ground clearance. Strong bone and neat feet. Moved soundly and held her shape well. In good coat and condition. 3 Beagries Feldhund Show The Way JW

LB (9,2) Good class. 1 Arthurs Elderkine’s Austen. Not a flashy bitch but when you get your hands on her she is very correct. Balanced with good proportions to body. Typey head and correct dark eye. Clean neck into good shoulder and return of upper arm. Oval, well filled front. Well ribbed, short loin and good tail set. Good angles to first and second thigh. Full rump with good bone and feet. Sound and honest on the move holding her shape with very good coat texture.  2 Pughe and Frasers Bystock Blue Orchid. Another good honest bitch with everything in proportion and balanced. Well made, nothing overdone. Feminine, typey head of good length with clear ridges. Ovall well filled front with good angles in front and behind. Well ribbed with good top and underline.  Short loin and with strong bone and bunchy feet. Good ground clearance. Sound and true up and back holding her shape in profile. In good coat.  3 Hutchings Collidach Raynee Day JW

OB (7,1) Excellent class where places could change on another day. I liked all of the bitches for different reasons.  1 Howlett and Phillips Ch Tendrow Makes The Right Turn. This bitch was very similar in make and shape to my dog CC winner, just a feminine version so it was no surprise I liked her so much. Beautiful head and eye. Clean neck and so very well made in all departments. Ideal size and overall proportions. Textbook angulation and totally balanced. She held herself so well both stood and, on the move, where she was sound and stylish with great carriage. Again, top class presentation and coat texture. A worthy RBCC winner. JW 2 Mccalmonts Ch Silvae Time After Time at Bronia. Top class bitch and close up to 1. Feminine head, totally balanced and conical in shape. Clean neck of good length. Good shoulder and length to upper arm fitting neatly near her ribs. Oval and well filled in front with slight crook to foreleg of strong bone and neat feet. Well ribbed back to short loin and good tail set. Good angles to first and second thigh. Sound and stylish on the move with very good coat. 3 Rowes Ch Boloria Nice N Spicy JW
