Longhaired Dachshund Club 2004
Judge: Fay Skanta
BEST IN SHOW
It was both a pleasure & an honour to be invited
to judge BIS at the above show. I gave top honour to Faul's Ch/Ir Ch
Darsoms Zwagerson. A striking dark red d which fitted the breed standard
to perfection & of the correct size. With his perfectly shaped head with
an oblique dark eye set on a good reach of neck which flowed into a good
lay back of shoulder, correct pro sternum, nice rounded ribbing, close
coupled to nice good hammy rump & short hocks with nice turn of stifle,
not forgetting his rounded well padded feet which carried him round so
proudly & soundly & covered in a glossy red coat he just oozed quality &
a well deserved Champion; RBIS. For this prize it was a close decision
between CC & BOB winner Hall's Mini B/t b Grayville's Maid To Order.
With her first CC under her belt & Locket's Ch Ralines Royal Affair. Red
veteran winner & multiple CC winner, both beautifully built & both moved
soundly so my decision was for R Royal Affair purely on head &
expression. BPIS Norton's cream M/L Dachshund Halunke Miss Martini.
Beautiful baby of 8 mths, long low & level for one so young with
beautiful head & eye, good reach of neck, well placed shoulders, good
rounded quarters, excellent well rounded feet, lovely texture coat & a
good temperament, moved correctly fore & aft got to go to the top.
