Northern Dachshund Club 2008
BEST IN SHOW
The Northern Dachshund Association held their Championship Show at Sheffield and I was delighted to award top honours for the first time. I really enjoyed my day and I thank the breed judges for the super quality of my final line up. It was a very close decision and I was spoilt for choice. I finally chose for BIS the Mini L/H Ch. Minard Krystal Darque. A truly beautiful b/t whom I have judged before and at 6 years is as good as ever. Utterly feminine with superb construction throughout. Very sound movement with great forehand reach and drive. She has a ring presence that commands attention and is an exceptional showgirl. Very close up was RBIS the S/h Ch. Matzell Maid of Honour. Very elegant red with a stunning outline and lovely to go over. Very feminine of an ideal size and so sound in all departments. Superb front construction with snug fitting elbows, long ribbing and strong quarters. Moved sound and true with a free easy stride. Shown in tip top condition and has both style and presence. In puppies it was a close decision between 2 very promising youngsters who could change places on another day. BPIS was the L/h Bronia Devil Woman. Eye catching red with attractive head, dark eye and very well made throughout. I loved her sound construction. Good bone and neat feet. Moved true both coming and going and covered the ground well in profile. Shown in good coat and condition, well handled. Must have a bright future. RBPIS was the Mini S/h Carpaccio Royal Parade. Elegant b/t very feminine and of a lovely size and type. Very attractive head, excellent conformation. Superb outline and is a great little mover with both forward reach and drive. To crown it all has a delightful outgoing temperament and I will watch her progress with interest.
