Dachshund Club 2009

BEST IN SHOW

It gave me great pleasure to judge BIS at this prestigeous event, with an excellent entry all through. BIS, Wood's Miniature Longhaired, Ch Wildstar Wrenowned. Have already given this dog a CC and BOB and still find him a top quality dog, who commands attention on entering the ring, he is a complete package. Correct construction all through, as sound as a bell. He is impressive on the move with reach in front and drive behind, keeping a clean outline at all times, flowing round the ring. A gleaming black/tan coat completes the picture. Res BIS, McCalmont's Ch Silvae Pickwick (Wirehaired). A super boy, almost 10 years old, in great condition. Superb construction with excellent front, with well sprung ribbing, underline, topline good, well let down behind, he has bone and substance, most beautifully proportioned head, his free movement a joy to see, as he slides out and drives round the ring, his youthful exuberence is a joy to see, all this topped with a correct, harsh top coat and dense undercoat. Like a good wine, this boy gets better for keeping. BPIS, Turner's Smooth-haired b/t, Rafthouse Holey Sheet. A lot to like about this girl, she is without exaggeration, a nice size, not overlong in loin, head and eye good, clean neck into layback of shoulder, top, underline good with well let down quarters, movement and temperament good. Res BPIS, Ergis' Miniature Smooth. Clear red girl with exquisite head and eye. The quality one expects from this kennel, good overall make and shape, excellent front and sweep of keel into good underline, strode out well, close up to winner.
