BEST IN SHOW
I must thank all the breed judges for sending through some great dogs as it was a quality line-up and I was spoilt for choice. They were all, without exception, fine representatives of their variety and I was really splitting hairs for the top spot. In the line-up was the Best Veteran the Standard Wire Int.Ch.Raydachs Tom Cruisen On who looked in fine fettle and was showing well and thoroughly enjoying his day. Another handsome, red Standard Wire dog Ch. Liebling Stormin Norman who moved out well with his owner and a correctly sized, elegant Standard Long Ch. Swansford Burbury Dora who I considered very closely for one of the top spots. Then there was Siouxline April Folly a well balanced Miniature Smooth and the positive and free moving Miniature Wire Ch. Drakesleat Win Alot. Best in Show went to the chocolate Standard Smooth, a quality bitch of classic lines. She was well balanced all through and had a feminine head, good neck and shoulders and rear angulation and firm topline which she held when she strode round the ring. She couldn't be denied the top spot today although she was in very competitive company. She was closely followed by the Reserve Best in Show who was the stylish, sh/cr. Miniature Long dog Ch. Zarcrest Ice Conqueror who had all the attributes required and also moved out positively with his owner and was beautifully presented and handled. In the Puppy line-up, although the Miniatures had good outlines standing, the Standards scored in more positive movement and that was the deciding factor. Best Puppy in Show went to a very promising brindle Standard Wire bitch Boloria's Kaleena at Sunsong. So well balanced and nothing overdone but there for all to see. Good front and rear angulation, well muscled for one so young and moved out with purpose with her handler. Reserve Best Puppy in Show was Abydachs Kicks Up A Storm an 8 month masculine Standard Long, although a tad on the large side for my preference, he couldn't be denied his win today as he was also well balanced and had a lot going for him including positive movement for one so young. Both puppies show great potential for the future.
