Dachshund Club 2011
BEST IN SHOW
Championship show The six Best of
Breeds were all worthy hounds, and it was a great privilege to be asked to judge
them. My thanks go to the Secretary and her team of helpers who presented a
well run show with much hospitality pleasantness BIS. McCalmont's Ch Silvae
Zest. She is a wirehaired bitch with that elusive 'ring presence'. A balanced
and strong picture of a hound with a lovely feminine head and expression.
Correct mouth and dark eye. Well arched neck leading onto a correct shoulder
placement. Keel carried back nicely, good spring of rib. Her topline is strong
and well held on the move. The hindquarters are correct with a great angulation
that she uses with strength and soundness. A lovely wire. Res BIS.Muggleton's
Mosiarto Beautiful Belle JW. A well named miniature Smooth haired bitch. A new
one to me. She is a 2 and a half year old eye catcher. In fine form. Sweet and
feminine. Pleasing head and eye. Good front and shoulder placement that she
uses well when on the move. Topline and underline are fine, and her hind end is
correct. On the move she is a delight, sound and interested in what is going
on. Pleasing. BPIS Melbourne's Melriding Berengaria. A 7 month old sweetie. Min
Smooth with lots of potential. Her head, neck and front assembly are all
correctly placed, and used with accuracy. Nice body and hindquarters. When she
has a bit more time under her belt, the hind movement will strengthen. Most
promising, and attractive. Well done, a very close decision. Res BPISDalgett's
Thundergay Bebop A Lula. A smooth haired bitch whose balance and strength is
apparent. Royally bred, sired by a favourite of mine, and this puppy has a lot
of her fathers good points. Head, neck and body are good, front is enviable,
and she has good angles fore and aft. Moved well and soundly. BVIS Coxon's
Ch/Am/Can/Ch Grandgables Tickle My Fancy. I am so pleased to have gone over
this bitch. She fills me with pleasure and memories of her Mum and Gt.Gt.Gt
Grandmother, both of whom I had the pleasure of judging in the past. She is a
brindle Min. Smooth haired and is 8 years old. Loved her day out and showed off
her many attributes, which include well placed shoulders and hind quarters,
good body, delightful temperament, and a sound gait. Thank you for a lovely
day, and showing some great dogs.
