Miniature Dachshund Club 2013
Judge: Elizabeth Harrap
Best in Show
I
felt very honoured to be invited to judge Best in Show and have the
chance to go over the top quality exhibits the breed judges had sent
forward for the main awards. I thank the Officers and Committee for
their kind welcome and hospitality. I thoroughly enjoyed my day with
the minis! Best in Show: Blackburn's Ch Sonderbar Billie Jean at
Stargang (imp Aus). Miniature smooth. A beautiful feminine bitch who
showed her qualities off to perfection. Lovely head and expression,
good front and neck. Well made body and spring of ribs and well muscled
quarters. Moved soundly both ways round the ring. Looked a picture.
Reserve Best in Show : Woods Ch Wildstar Wrenowned JW. Miniature Long.
Another super exhibit showing off his excellent qualities. It was a hard
decision between the two. Masculine head, good front and well made
body. Moved with drive round the ring retaining his outline. Best Puppy
in Show: Callow's Garthorne Miss Toffee. Miniature smooth. A super
puppy. Pretty feminine head, well made front. Good neck and body lines.
Moved soundly both ways. Will surely have a good future in the show
ring. Reserve Best Puppy in Show: Thorn Andrews Drakesleat Scent Sybil.
Miniature Wire. A real baby who was full of herself. Sweet head and
expression, well made body and quarters. Moved with confidence. Best
Veteran in Show: Reed's Deercroft Devotion JW. Miniature smooth. A
lovely bitch that I am surprised is not a champion. She oozes quality
and is a real dachshund in miniature. Feminine head and expression.
Good front, neck and well made body and quarters. Excellent free
flowing movement.
