Southern Dachshund Association 2013

Judge: Eleanor Bothwell

Best in Show

The Southern Dachshund Association held its centenary ch show at the Montem Leisure Centre, Slough. All judges made it but obviously there were a number of absentees because of the sudden wintry weather.

I felt very honoured to be asked to judge BIS, BP & BV. BIS was a L/h male, Zarcrest Hugo Boss, really made an impression as he entered the ring. Well bodied & coated, swept around the ring as if he owned the place. Masculine head, lovely eyes, good bone & feet, well ribbed up, held topline at all times on the move, arrogant showman. A stunning b/t Min L/h bitch of 9 months secured RBIS & BP, Ralines Diamond Cluster, a real star in the making, has quality stamped all over with a most appealing head & expression, wonderful neckline, well laid shoulders, good body & bone, tight feet, steady showgirl & mover. It was clearly a day for the Longs as BV went to the b/t male, Damai Master Benedict, nearly 8, in lovely coat & condition, does not look like a veteran as he has kept a very good figure & topline. Moved soundly, clean coat, well handled.
