BVIS MIDDLETON Bensarka Too Darn Hot for Lokmadi

I want to thank the committee of the Miniature Dachshund Club for inviting me to judge BIS at this year's Championship Show. Together with our Miniature Wirehaired Dachshunds, Kari and I have a lot of good memories from this show where we have won a few CCs. You don't have a lot to do as the main judge at a breed show like this, but it was nice to get the opportunity to catch up with old friends. When the three finalists entered the ring, the Min Long, Abydachs Aniseed, hit me straight away and after having gone over them all; he held his ground and I awarded him the BIS trophy. I understand that he got his third CC on the day and I am sure he has many more to come. This dog has a lovely outline and he move and stands to perfection. He has much more style than we are used to see in this variety and I was taken by this excellent specimen. RBIS was a very nice Min Wire bitch, Drakesleat May Contain Nuts. She is breathtaking standing and with a lovely silhouette. I liked her neck and shoulder placement and she was well angulated both ends. I would have like her to move with a bit more passion and that was why I made the Longhaired BIS. In the puppy class it was once again a clear winner. I couldn't resist the Min Wire, Drakesleat If Looks Cud Kill. Though he was a bit uncomfortable in the ring, his virtues made him an easy winner. This dog is very well constructed; he is sound and stands like a statue. His head was good and I liked him very much. RBPIS was the Longhaired, Dinkidax Justin Credible. This dog was very attractive, sound and of excellent type, but his big eyes disturbed me. That is way he went second. The big surprise came in the veteran class. I adored the Smooth bitch, Bensarka Too Darned Hot For Lokmadi. She is totally my type of bitch. She has the right proportions; she is not too deep and not to shallow. She moves like a clock and is sound all through. In addition to this, she is a true Miniature Dachshund. Why this beautiful bitch hasn't got Ch in front of her name is a mystery to me. It was fabulous to hear that she got the RCC on the day, 9 years old. Congratulation!
