Many thanks to the Committee of the Northern Counties Dachshund Association, and to the exhibitors, for making this an enjoyable day. There was, overall, an excellent selection of Dogs/Bitches presented before me to make it a pleasure to judge Best in Show and with plenty of choice to select from.

Mrs A Moore & Miss L Downes:-  Megline Bohemian Rhapsody (IMP ROM).

Wire Hair. A really smart Bitch, stood out for me today. Lovely head, and reach of neck onto correct shoulder placement. Good length of ribbing, and well angulated. Moved round the ring so proudly and sound, maintaining her topline at all times. What an asset to the breed, and one that should have a successful showing career ahead of her.

Mr D Roberts:- Swansford Gregorydor.

Long Hair. An elegant young Standard Long, he flowed round the ring. Good head and dark eye, good shoulder placement, feet tight with well- trimmed nails, correct length of ribbing, and sound hind movement. Presented in excellent condition. Moved with drive and looked the part, keeping his topline at all times.

Lovely Miniature Long Bitch to go over, well constructed with good movement, lovely turned out and presented coat. Correct head type and eye shape, correct front assembly and tight feet, keeps her topline standing and on the move. 

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.

Mr K, Mrs L & Miss E Black’s:- Ch Bassodon Westwood.

A Miniature Wire of lovely type, well balanced, correct head and eye, good reach of neck, and correct shoulder placement. Nice textured correct type coat. Moved well, and looked classy standing.

RESERVE BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.

Miss M Norton’s:- Ch Matzell Minella.

Lovely Standard Smooth Bitch to go over, with much to admire. Nice head, eye and reach of neck, well placed shoulders and deep pro-sternum, tight feet, and correct length of ribbing,  showed and moved well, keeping her topline at all times.

BEST SPECIAL BEGINNEER IN SHOW.

Mrs K Drady’s:- Tolberg Cream Surprise at Indiko. ShCh, VW.

A cream Miniature Long Bitch, well pigmented, pretty head with dark and correctly shaped eyes. Adequate reach of neck and a good front assembly, correct shoulders and good length of ribbing. Moved well, showing herself off. Owner should have some fun in the ring with her.
