It was a great honour to be invited to judge Best in Show at the last Great Joint Championship Show. A sad day for the Association that has been inexistence since 1932. So many memories of shows being held at the Seymour Hall in London, Picketts Lock, The Kennel Club Building, Aldersley Leisure Centre and finally The Sports Connection. I was honoured to have been Secretary for a number of years taking over from Rene Gale.

My thanks to the Officers, Committee and the Secretary Geraldine for making me welcome and for all their hard work in making this a memorisable day.

There was a lovely line-up for Best in Show.

Best in Show the Long-Haired.  Geeson’s  Ch Abydachs Fire in her Soul.  A truly feminine bitch with a lovely head and expression. Good front and neck and length of ribbing. Free flowing movement. Beautifully presented. Was delighted to award her the top award.

Reserve Best in Show the Miniature Wire.  Jones   Bimini Chasing Moonbeams. So much to like about her. Feminine head, good front and length of ribbing. Excellent coat. Moved and showed well. I understand won her third CC today – congratulations.

Best Puppy in Show the Miniature Smooth.   Mason’s  Teckeltown Suspicious Mind. A delightful puppy with much promise. Pleasing head and expression, good front, neck and body. Moved soundly for one so young. Well presented. Should have a bright future.

Reserve Best Puppy in Show the Wire.  Pughe & Fraser’s Stanegate Stefan at Bystock. Another lovely puppy.  Strong masculine head with kind expression. Good front and neck. Well made body and quarters. Excellent coat. Moved soundly. Another with a bright future.

Best Veteran in Show the Miniature Smooth.   Ergis Ch Siouxline Rapunzel with Melriding.   Lovely head and expression. Excellent front and body and quarters.  Sound mover retaining her topline.

Best Standard Veteran  the Smooth. Norton’s Ch Matzell Martha. Well presented quality bitch carrying her years well. Feminine head and expression. Well-made body and quarters. Moved well round the ring.
