SCOTTISH DACHSHUND CLUB  1ST APRIL 2023.

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee of the Scottish Dachshund Club for the opportunity and honour of judging Best in Show at this lovely friendly show. My thanks to  fellow judges for sending through some beautiful dachshunds. I was spoilt for choice, such lovely quality hounds to have the pleasure of judging.

BIS.

ORD & AINSLEY Cloudside Sebastian of Marnadee JW . 2 1/2 year old Wire coming to his best and maturing nicely. This dog caught my eye as he walked into the ring, and I wasn’t disappointed on going over him, such lovely shape , balance and height to length ratio. Masculine head with a punishing jaw, and dark well shaped eyes, and set onto a muscular slightly crested neck of good length. His front assembly flows under the hands, excellent pronounced keel , well laid shoulders and  great return of upper arm flowing into good depth and length of ribbing with a short strong loin. Absolutely foot perfect on the move , he maintained  his shape and topline at all times.  Well developed hindquarters with muscular meaty hams ,short strong hocks, and well padded feet enabled him to flow round the ring, lovely parallel movement at both ends. All topped with a harsh correct coat, certainly a hound capable of a days work.

RBIS.

Roberts Ch Swansford Gregorydor, Glamourous Long, very well known hound who needs no introduction from me .A beautiful hound in excellent condition and flowing gleaming coat. Lovely head and expression, good neck and excellent forehand, good ribbing and topline.  Of excellent proportions, he flows round the ring, free and easy on the move. A very close decision, he just dropped his topline when standing at the crucial moment, a most beautiful dachshund.

BPIS.

Mitchell’s  Bronia Maverick, attractive cream 9 month min long. The first thing that hits you is his beautiful head with the darkest of eyes  and pigment that contrast drastically with his clear cream coat.  Good leathers and coat  for his age, sweetest head and expression, excellent neck and forehand. Good depth and length of ribbing, great topline and quarters, free and easy on the move, must have a bright future .

BVIS

Chapmans Melminds Zsylvester ShCM. Long, in excellent condition for his 12 1/2 years, his movement and general appearance belie his age. Masculine head with lovely big strong teeth, good neck and forehand, well held topline and tail carriage, in good coat and condition, he moved well and easily round the ring, a credit to his owner.
