I was  delighted to be invited to judge Best in Show at the Southern Dachshund Association Championship show. My thanks go to the Officers, Committee for an enjoyable day.

Best in Show The Smooth-Haired:  Norton’s Matzell Martinella. An elegant, feminine bitch with a beautiful head and expression. Excellent front, neck and length of ribbing. Easy driving movement. Beautifully presented. Pleased to give her the top award.

Reserve Best in Show The Miniature Wire. Haired:  Dance’s Ch. Emem Solar Power JW. Smart, brindle in superb condition. Handsome head and kind expression. Good reach of neck and well-placed shoulders. Super bone and substance. Used his powerful rear to drive round the ring keeping a firm topline. Totally in tune with his owner.

Best Puppy in Show The Wire Haired:  Moore’s Cloudside Vincent. Smart promising brindle puppy. Masculine head and expression. Good front, neck and length of ribbing. Easy driving movement. Presented in super condition with the harshest of coats.

Reserve Best Puppy in Show The Smooth Haired: Williams & Moes’ Cwmdarhian San Antonio. Another super puppy.  Strong masculine head with a kind expression. Good front and neck. Sound well-made body and strong quarters. Moved with reach and drive. Presented in gleaming coat and condition.

Best Veteran in Show The Miniature Long Haired:  Broad’s Ch. Neertanauf Sea Magic JW ShCM.     Handsome gentleman starting his 14^th year. In lovely coat and body condition. Well angulated quarters and firm topline.  Moved soundly keeping a good topline belying his age.
