Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge my first Dachshund Club show best in show. It’s always been a well-attended society and what an entry the Club had this year! It was a pleasure to judge the finals. 

Best In Show Howlett & Phillips’ CH Tendrow Malibar JW. Wire-Haired. Overall a well angulated and balanced dog of good size. Lovely head and reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder and return of upper arm. Firm topline and well ribbed back. Well angulated in rear quarters and powered around the ring keeping a beautiful outline.

Res Best In Show O’Connell’s Ch Rijobeau Rumours With Llennocor JW. Mini Smooth Haired. Neat well angulated dog with lovely ring presence. Good head and reach of neck. Balanced well angulated fore and rear quarters. Well ribbed with lovely outline at all times. Covered the ground well on the move.

Best Puppy In Show McNaughton’d Cedavoch Rainfall. Smooth. Beautiful young red bitch. Lovely head and elegant reach of neck. Well angulated and balanced fore and rear quarters with well let down hocks. Clean fore and rear movement and excelled in reach and drive. So well put together for her age.

Reserve Best Puppy In Show Poole’s Findowrie Forget Me Not. Mini Long Haired. Nice head and reach of neck with good lay of shoulder. Good topline and well angulated in rear quarters. Kept a lovely outline one the move.

Best Veteran In Show Wood’s Wildstar Wrivera. Lovely red bitch of correct size. Lovely head and decent reach of neck. Good lay of shoulder with good length of upper arm. Well bodied with good length and depth of ribbing. Rear quarters balanced with fore quarters. Lovely outline one the move.

Reserve Best Veteran In Show Heels’ Ch Daxanory Menacing Dennis. Smooth. Definitely lives up to his name! Even at his mature age he still knows how to have fun! Good head and lovely reach of neck. Good firm topline. Well angulated and balanced fore and rear quarters. Excelled in side gait with lovely reach and drive.
