LKA 2002 Dachshund (Miniature Smooth Haired) Judge: Mrs A Watts
|
MINIATURE SMOOTHHAIRED: A pleasing entry, good in all and only a few on the thin side. I am concerned at the poor hind angulation at present. Front assembly on the whole was better, but where are the tight feet and the smooth, wrinkle free front legs the breed needs?
MPD (4) 1 Plant’s Merehill Newz Encounter. Mature, well muscled B/T. Head, eyes and expression pleasing. Good feet, angulation first class throughout. Moved with plenty of drive. Best Puppy and Res CC - an exciting ahead. 2 Marka-Novaj’s Shembys Spitfire. Compact red, younger and not as mature as the winner. Body well covered, graceful head carriage and moved soundly. 3 Pluck’s Brookmill Harvey.
PD (2) 1 Spencer’s Chelridge Piccolomini. B/T. Not enjoying the task and needs more training. Movement erratic, feet need to tighten up.
JD (7) 1 Stokes’ Webbers Paddy. Compact, nice B/T. Won this class easily on movement, kept his topline at all times with a good head carriage. 2 Bursey’s Hartlake Blueberry. Another B/T of pleasing size and conformation. Movement could improve in hind action. 3 Callow’s Garthorne Leading Lad.
PGD (6) 1 Punter’s Welcumen Whisky. Mature B/T, well muscled body. Front well developed. Best mover in the class, covered the ground well and kept an excellent profile at all times. 2 Barber’s Rivergate Gallanthus. Solid B/T. Head rather heavy and keel too deep. Lost out on movement. 3 Orton’s Scalamor Willow the Wisp.
LD (6) 1 Lashbrook’s Milfer Jack the Lad. Soundly moving red. Good head and eye, angulation good. For a cleaner outline could lose some weight over the front assembly. 2 Sharkey’s Nordach Oberon at Hyshope. Another good red I liked very much on examination, but threw his chances away on the move, losing his topline and giving him a very active tail wave. 3 Yeoman’s Klynerbyner Nobless Oblige.
OD (2) 1 Coxon’s Ch D’Arisca In Confidence. Excellent B/T in size and conformation. Good head flowing elegantly down neck and shoulders to a well muscled body. Moved regally covering the ground well. CC.
MPB (6) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Shopaholic. Best moving in this class of babes. B/T, nicely made and maturing well. Quite confident in showmanship for her age. Very promising. 2 Freer’s Switherland Monsoon Malibai. Similar remarks for this B/T, also having good conformation and development. Just needs that extra thrust in movement. 3 Ergis’ Siouxline Lydia.
PB (8) 1 Widdop’s Jondac Golden Dream. Attractive head, front assembly well developed, good hind angulation and well cobvered and muscled body. Moved out well keeping a good profile. 2 Patterson’s Jazzrin de Jarden. Pleasing choc/Tan, higher on the leg than the winner. Good topline and movement, confident showmanship, could body up a little more. 3 Spencer’s Chelridge Pyxis.
JB (4) 1 Forster’s Geffle’s Prima Donna. Aptly named B/T. When she settled down and showed her paces, won this class with ease. Lovely profile and although petite, in proportion. Needs more confidence. 2 Orton’s Scalamor Black Narcissus. This B/T was not as good in pelvic angulation as the winner and movement thus affected. Good head carriage and condition of coat. 3 McAlister’s Lochfyne Sweet Breeze.
PGB (7) 1 Coxon’s D’Arisca Charm Offensive. Compact, well constructed B/T. Good head, eye and head carriage in movement. Could steady up on the move to improve hind action. 2 Winchurch’s Donnadoon Mt Desire for Brianolf. Soundly moving B/T. Elegant head carriage and kept a good profile. Not quite the hind angulation of the winner and feet could tighten. 3 Sharkey’s Hyshope Maddonna.
LB (9) 1 Hunt’s Carpaccio Travelling Light. Very pleasing B/T, compact and well proportioned in bone structure. Attractive head carried elegantly on movement, steady and true - keeping a good profile. Presented immaculately. Res CC. 2 Widdop’s Jondac Royal Spendour. This B/T needs to improve in hind movement, otherwise a very sound bodied and constructed bitch of considerable appeal. 3 Callow’s Garthorne Highlight.
OB (7) 1 Callow’s
Ch Garthorne Leading Lady. Beautiful B/T excelling in movement, flowing and true
elegant carriage. Very pleasing head and expression, underline rising gently.
Best of tight feet, top class throughout. CC and Best of Breed. 2 Armstrong’s
Shardagang Amarulla. Classy red, could not match the movement of the winner on
the day. Very good in profile, bone structure good. Excellently presented. 3
Ergis’ Siouxline Isabella JW.
