MINIATURE SMOOTH-HAIRED
MPD (3,1) 1 Punter’s Welcumen Cool Dude. Shaded red dog. A little reluctant to move, but did eventually settle. He has the makings of a nice puppy, a good topline which he kept on the move. Good bone and feet. Nice ribbing. A son of the Dog CC winner. 2 Davis’ Barleyfield Eye Catcher. B/T dog with a good topline and good ribbing. He moved quite well and was in very good condition. However, he was very high on the leg, which will not improve with maturity.
PD (3) 1 Hartley’s Truthful; Titan at Lyrosh. Shaded red dog with a lot to like about him. He has a good stride on him and covered the ground well. Good head and reach of neck. Kept his topline on the move. Good front and length of ribbing. Best Puppy in Breed. 2 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. B/T dog. Lower to the ground than the winner, but did not move as well. He was a little apprehensive, though he kept a good topline moving. Has a good spring of rib and length of rib. Hall 4 was very noisy and I think it upset some of the dogs. 3 Davis’ Barleyfield Batchelor Boy.
JD (6) 1 Payton’s Marajo Moccasin. B/T dog, has a good outline and is well balanced. He has a nice front on him and a good topline on the move. Nice spring and length of rib. Moved well. 2 Gaskin’s Glorron Petulengro at Dovestream. Not quite the length of the winner, and not so positive on the move, but he kept a good topline when moving. Also had a good spring of rib. 3 Melbourne’s Melriding Post Mac Meliora.
PGD (8) 1 Barber’s Melriding Meruisti. B/T dog, a very smart looking one. Everything about him was neat and balanced. Good ribbing and a nice front. Kept a good topline on the move. 2 Mendes’ Scharmein Khan. B/T dog with plenty of substance. Good shoulder and spring of rib. However, he was not happy on the day and was not showing or moving as well as the winner. 3 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery.
LD (7) 1 Punter’s Welcumen Mr Cool. Shaded red dog of quality. Good head and reach of neck. Good topline which he kept on the move. Good shoulder and ribbing, he strode out very well with good front extension and strong hind movement. CC. 2 Jones’ Radclyffe Melancorypha. Shaded red and another quality dog with good bone, reach of neck. Good ribbing, good topline and spring of rib. Moved well. Res CC. 3 Mead’s D’Arisca Dennison.
OD (3) 1 Castle’s Ir Ch High Flier. Red dog with a lot like about him. He has a good front on him and a good topline on the move. Good ribbing - a dog always to be reckoned with. 2 Blackburn’s Bardachs Santa Cruz to Stargang. B/T dog. Moved quite well but was not happy on the day and did not make the most of himself and did not move with thr drive of the winner. Once again I think the noise in Hall 4 did seem to unsettle a lot of the dogs. 3 Sharkey’s Ch Nordach Oberon at Hysope.
MPB (6) 1 Shutt’s Shemby Hocus Pocus at Donnadoon. Choc/dapple and what a turn up for the books! It is years since I saw a smooth choc/dapple that I have liked, but I thought this one could hold her own anywhere. She moved soundly and with drive, and a good topline and underline. Good spring of rin and nice front - a real little charmer. I hope she gets a fair crack of the whip - I shall watch her future with interest. 2 Mitchell’s Bronia Lucidissimo. B/T bitch, lovely lines and she has all the right things in the right places and showed to perfection. I thought that the winner had a bit more front extension on the move. 3 Mead’s Minimead Mystic Charm.
PB (1) 1 Forster’s Maximites Lisa at Geffle. B/T, pity she had to stand alone, but it didn’t spoil her day, she was waving her tail a bit on the move and she was happy, but it did not spoil her topline on the move. She has a good shoulder and a nice front on her, but she was toeing in a little behind when she moved away.
JB (14) 1 Mayger’s Woolsocks Black Satin. B/T bitch with very nice lines. She moved with drive from the rear and had good front movement. She has good ribbing and a good topline. Nice head and reach of neck. She did play her handler up a bit fidgeting, but it still did not detract from her obvious good points. 2 Callow’s Garthorne Leonie. Beautiful red bitch with super lines on her - everything just flowed into place. She moved soundly and with drive, but I felt the winner just had the edge on front extension. 3 Worswick’s Willowheath Music to Dolyharp.
PGB (14) 1 Doran’s Switherland Kaliadescope. Shaded red, this one I could have watched her move all day. I don’t think I have seen such a good stride on a bitch as this one has - she covered the ground with such ease, not at great speed but with such an easy fluid movement, she flowed around the ring. Her head, neck, topline, hind angulation, shoulders - everything was so well co-ordinated - a joy to watch. Her one fault? She was a fidget standing, but who cares! CC and Best of Breed. 2 Blackburn-Bennett’s Shardagang Illustrious. Well namded, beautiful shaded red who has all the qualities you would look for in a good bitch. It was juat unfortunate that she came up against the winner in such good form. 3 Reed’s Deercroft Dolly Daydream.
LB (9) 1 Ergis’ Bronia Stunning Sophia for Siouxline. Another good little red bitch of quality. Nice flowing lines and very well handled. She has a good topline on the move and she strode out with purpose. I am sure she will do well. 2 Callow’s Carthorn Lady in Black. B’T with a good head, neck and topline. She moved very well, but not quite the stride of the winner. 3 Hartley’s Lyrosh Special Edition.
OB (6) 1 Callow’s Ch Garthorn Highlight. A very worthy Champion, she has all the things you look for in a Champion, but for me I would like a little more elegance. Having said that, she is still a quality bitch and one to be proud of. 2 Reynold’s Ir Ch Glenariff Bramble. Nice little bitch, not as low to ground as the winner, but she moved well and kept a good topline. She hadn’t quite got the length of the winner, which made her look a bit square. 3 Spencer’s Chelridge Apple Brown Betty.
