Great Joint Dachshund Ass 2004
Judge: Wendy P Spencer
MINIATURE SMOOTH
Firstly my sincere thanks to all exhibitors for such a lovely entry. The quality of our lovely breed was high, my two worries are that I saw lots of short ears and v poor feet. DOGS: P (3). 1 Hully’s Maximites Montgomery. Loved the flowing outline of this little d standing and moving. Good bone and strong shapely hindquarters. Nice head and ears, well developed keep but a little apprehensive of his surroundings but moved with drive; 2 Coxon’s D’Arisca Definitely Maybe. Another nice p, good shoulders a little fine in bone and not quite steady in top line yet, but overall well balanced; 3 Hartley’s Truthful Titan of Lyrosh. J (12). 1 Wilberg’s Shardagang Sea King at Kanix. I was v surprised to find out later that this was a p, v mature in growth, hope he doesn’t overdo it. A lovely mover and flowing lines all over, no mistaking his masculinity. Strong bone, well developed keel and well sprung rib. Shapely hindquarters, proudly held head with lovely ears CC and BPIB; 2 Punter’s Welcumen Mr Cool. V strong boy. Good depth of chest but a little shorter in ribbing than 1, strong hind end and moved well; 3 Melbourne’s Melriding Posthal Meliora. PG (7). 1 Sharkey’s Shardagang Tornado of Hyshope. Liked the tidiness of this little d, nothing exaggerated, good head, strong keel, nice length and hindquarters, strode out well. A little more ribbing would complete the picture; 2 Maxmites Montgomery. Reported on earlier but v immature for this class; 3 Bursey’s Berrycourt Joint Statement. L (7). 1 Baldwin’s Lauralee One For The Road. Gorgeous clear red, smaller mould, v masculine and another one with no exaggerations. Nice oval keel, sprung rib, correct length and strong hindquarters, moved well in profile coming and going, perhaps a little more bone would complete the picture RCC; 2 Mead’s D’Arisca Dennison. V different to 1 but a quality d. Well developed front, lovely head, long well arched neck, good ribbing, underline and top line leading into well rounded hindquarters. Presented in tip top condition; 3 Shutt’s Donnadoon Princes Passion. O (4). 1 Coxon’s D’Arsica Supernatural. V statuesque and typical of this kennel. Proud head and good long neck, nicely balanced with correct ribbing giving a nice even underline. A worthy champion but I would like a little more bone and stronger hind movement. Expertly handled and in lovely bloom; 2 Sharkey’s Nordach Oberon at Hyshope. One I judge in 2001 at this same venue and I liked him then so I am pleased he has taken his crown. Strong little d, shorter in profile. A true mover in all directions but running up slightly and flying his tail here; 3 Blackburn’s Bardachs Santa Cruz to Stargang. BITCHES: MP 96). 1 Mitchell’s Bronia Lucudissima. V mature young lady but slightly uncooperative. Well boned already and beautifully balanced. Feminine head, alert expression. Strong neck in well placed shoulders. Good length and ribbing, strong well angulated hindquarters which she used well on the move BPB; 2 Graham’s Daisy’ll Do for Jagag. Another nice one, lovely head correct ears and eye. Flowing top line, nice length and good back end. Preferred feet of one but not much to choose between them; 3 Orton’s Scalamor Pussy Willow. P 94). 1 Forster’s Maximites Lovely Lisa at Geffle. V feminine neat little b, smaller mould but everything in place and nicely balanced. Sweet head, expression and good length. Nice top line on the move, but spoilt slightly when stacked probably due to her apprehension in the noisy hall; 2 William’s Shardagang Mead. V different to 1. Longer in leg and slightly shorter in body, lovely head and ears. J (17). A v strong class I would have liked more places. 1 Shuker’s Yewlitt Sadie. Quality shone through. Lovely head, strong neck, flowing into a lovely top line and finished off by her strong hindquarters. Nice oval chest, plenty of ribbing and good under line; 2 Callow’s Garthorne Leonie. Shame these two were in the same class. Another quality b and similar comments apply but did prefer front and bone of 1. Could easily change places; 3 Mead’s Minimead Midnight Charm. PG (15). 1 Y Sadie; 2 Newbury and Morris’ Destiny of Dalegarth. Super mover although her tail was a little frisky. Longer in trunk than 1, but equally good hindquarters. A v neat little b with a v feminine head and good overall front assembly; 3 Jones’ Radclyffe Monticola. L (14). 1 Ergis’ Bronia Stunning Sophia for Siouxline. Lovely red, excellent forechest and ribbing. Nice head and just the right amount of length leading to strong hindquarters which she used to the full on the move. In super condition and obviously enjoying her day out; 2 Callow’s Garthorne Lady In Black. Another one of exceptional quality, feminine, balanced and in tip top condition. Pretty head, good front, top line and under line, not quite the bone of 1, but could change places on another occasion; 3 Widdop’s Jondac Golden Dream. O (7). 1 Callow’s Ch Garthorne Highlight. A glorious red b in lovely condition and expertly handled. She was a p when I last judged her, she won then and deserved to win today. Lovely head, nicely arched neck flowing into a super top line and finishing off with well rounded hindquarters. Underline flowed equally well. A well balanced profile and well deserved CC and BOB; 2 Munt’s Pipersvale Stella Artois. Another glorious red and in equally good condition. V feminine head and dark eye, good shoulders and just the right length, everything balanced. Strong hindquarters and moved well but preferred the hind action of 1; 3 Bursey’s berrycourt Dancing Queen at Hartlake. V (3). 1 Ergis’ Ch Siouxline Angelina. Still beautiful and not showing her age at all, what is her secret? Proud head, no signs of greying, strong neck in good shoulder, lovely top line and underline strode out well and I heard she also went a well deserved BVIS; 2 Watkinson’s Ch Manakoora Mai Tai. Another super b, just 9 yrs and 8 mths young I was told, lovely head, sweet expression, good angulation and still well balanced throughout, moved well in profile just toeing in slightly in front.
